1st Felucan Infantry Division (1st FID)

History
The 1st Felucan Infantry Division was formed during the later years of the resistance movement before the Freedom War. It started out as a group of volunteers around four hundred strong commanded by Dmitri Tiger. In secret they would gather at remote areas to train, and Dmitri adapted knowledge learned in books and field manuels to a working system.
A core group of officers came out of those rough training sessions and eventually as more volunteers came in a second batallion was formed under Cyan Bobtail.
Dmitri and Cyan had a strong working relationship, seeming to know what the other was thinking even as they 'fought' against each other using MILES training gear.
In the year leading up to the Freedom War, the 1st FID was at full strength and the Felucans were able to field four other infantry divisions.
Freedom War
The 1st FID was involved in the first night of combat on the western front and saw heavy action against the Federated 2nd, 4th and 5th Infantry Divisions as well as a Federated Marine Brigade.
Dmitri lead his division fircely and although out-numbered, used manuver and focused firepower to destroy four seperate infantry brigades in the first night of fighting alone.
In the following week, the 1st FID faced off with the remains of the Federated divisions that had originally been sent against them as well as two more infantry brigades and a supporting Federated Motor Rifle Division.
Casulties mounted for the Felucans, but the eastern front was in even greater danger as foreign reinforcments arrived to support the Federation. Cyan Bobtail detatched her brigade from the 1st FID and went east to support the assault against the Federated capital.
Understrength, the two brigades still under Dmitri's command were forced to retreat from battle for several days, a tactic which unexpectedly caused the Federated Motor Rifle Division in persuit to string itself out. Dmitri siezed the advantage, turned and mounted a renewed assault on the Federated forces, driving them down the west coast and eventually into the mountains.
The 1st FID was in the process of mopping up the mountains of resistance when the war ended and the Felucans declared independance.

Due to being positioned in Southern Command, the 1st FID was not involved in the Second Federated Offensive.
