OOC: I know i sounds kinda sick, but I wanna see if I'd be able to deal with this if I was Prime Minister, so are are any two countries willing to agree with each other to be at war, in the same way as Israel and Hezbollah are, with the same reasons for going to war, same issues, etc? I then want to try diplomacy to stop you both (either on forum or via telegram). For the purpose of the role-play, I would be regarded as Prime Minister of a country as powerful as Britain (with the same level of influence), but who has to deal with a country that is as powerful as the U.S.A. and who has the same level of influence as the U.S.A. (who are not doing what I want). Obviously the diplomacy may be very different, but I want it to be the same as the Israel v Hezbollah war. If you wanna join up, stick your countries down (and who you want to play, eg. Israel) and I will choose 3 countries to play Israel, Hezbollah, and America, and the rest can be the international community. As I said, I'd be playing Britain. we don't have to use the same country names as in the real war, but the war has to be the same kinda thing as the real one. :)

EDIT: Based on Samtonia's very likeable post, just stick your name down and the country you wanna be, even if not listed above. I've already taken Britain (it's my idea for the RP so ner ner ner ner ner :P)

I'd like to place myself forward as the Random Events Generator. What in the Sam Hill does that mean? You want this to be diplomacy. SDo, no squabbling over what's going on and artificially introducing plot devices by participants. That's where I'd come in. Sort of like a ref, who can decide what happens when.

Isreal sends me TG saying what they want to do (artillery strike on X, air raids on X,Y, and Z). Hezbollah sends me info saying what they're doing (Katyushas launched against X, guerilla attacks on Z). I'd then go and figure out what's all happened and post a nice report from the BBC detailing what's all gone on- from the levelling of Hezbollah TV to the death of 37 children in an Isreali air-raid.

Plus I want to practice journalism skills, so.... mind if I do this? LEts you all focus solely on the RP stuff.

Also, suggestion. You'll want someone to be the government of Lebanon, another for Syria. Just in case it escalates. And foreign governments trying to get citizens out could also provide for RP potential. And someone to play the US to get in your way...etc, etc, etc.

A bunch of GSF mercs can make a good Hezbollah. They did a pretty good job in Hydac.

Oooh this looks fun, I'd love to be the US but, I've got issues with their policies... so TAG anyways, oh and you might want someone to be Iran (I've heard multiple sources saying that's where hezbolla gets alot of their support)

No, not real reports. I'll be writing reports as the BBC and then making them fancy with real pictures when applicable. Not grabbing copyrighted material from news organizations. :)

OOC: Yeh, it's gotta be a war based on the real one but you can be your own country but playing as the "real-life" country you've chosen would likely be playing (eg. if you chose to play USA, you couldn't just order an immediate ceasfire as the US didn't order an immediate ceasefire).
In other words you can keep your own name, but not the style that your country would usually fight if it's different from the "real-life" country you have chosen to play.

To make it clearer: You choose who you wanna play from the "real-life" war (Hezbollah etc), but the only real NS thing about it is that you can keep your own NS name. And of course it's all RP.

But I'm confused, who are the Griffincrest mercs anyway? Are they from your NS country?
