The Royal Cottish Marines
The Royal Cottish Marines are responsible for defending the territories of Cotland and its interests along the coast, for spearheading any offensive advance against the enemies of the Realm of Cotland, and for providing protection to Cottish embassies around the world.
History
The Royal Cottish Marines can track its origins back to 1632 when the King ordered a formation of naval infantry be created to help defend the ships of the Navy from enemy boarders. The infantrymen were to be armed with a musket and a saber, and help defend the ship against any enemies. The requirements from the Marines haven't changed much since the early days, as the Marines were required to be fiercely loyal to the King, be well trained and disciplined soldiers and be aquainted to infantry tactics and combat. While the Marines were initially part of the Navy, they were seperated as an independent military branch in 1857. However, they are still transported around by the Navy.
The Marines have been involved in virtually every conflict the Realm of Cotland has been involved in, and have proven their courage and superiority numerous times. Due to the strickt selection process and hard training, the Cottish Royal Marines are among the worlds finest, most disciplined elite fighting forces in the world today.
Organization
The Royal Marines currently consists of some sixteen divisions, complete with artillery and armored support, and a number of smaller units. Each of the divisions consists of more than eleven thousand combat Marines in one infantry brigade and one vehicle brigade, and is capable of assaulting enemy shores and defeating the enemy.
