Persian Empire
Government Type: Complete Monarchy
Head of State: Shah Ali Afsharid
Capital: Samarqand (Technically)
The Persian Empire has been in a rapid state of decline since the modernization of European countries and their armies. In a series of wars lately against Russia the government at Samarqand finally realized the importance of modernizing their aging super power. Islamizes are still holding power in the majority of high positions and are seriously hampering advancement. As of the moment the sultan is a corrupt self serving Monarch whose only hereditary responsibility is the treasury.
Persian Military:
Alida Corps:
The shock troops of the Persian Empire, and its elite units. Their muskets are cheaply made and more aptly called bayonet holders. After one or two volleys the Alida charges in with various melee weapons and throws the enemy off balance, while, if positioned correctly the cavalry can mount another possible attack.
Hashanin Corps:
The basic cannon fodder of any army, they are the soldiers of the line and are not particularly well trained.
Marhani Corps:
The artillery of the Empire. This unit is the only unit to come completely up to European standards. Mostly the Marhani is made up of light maneuverable artillery, which is repositioned to offer a blinding array of attacks against slow moving enemy forces.
Cavalry Corps(I ran out of names obviously)
Is the pride, and only advantage the Persians have on slower European cavalry. The Horsemen are mostly lancers with the occasional heavy dragoon unit thrown in. Compared to the heavily, laden troops of Europe Persian cavalry are lightning fast and extremely efficient.
Persian Navy:
Small Numbers operating in the Persian gulf.
Current Agreements and Alliances:
Alliance\trade Rights with:
Ottoman Empire
The Tauregs
Neutral:
Italy
France
Great Britain
Russia
Prussia
Austro Hungary
Baltic States
Hostile:
Spain
Troop and Naval positions:
6 total Armies
2 marching to Istanbul
1 Turkmenistan
1 Iran
1 Pakistan
1 Afghanistan
No Navies
