Captain Linsol-Iroas-Kala stood aboard the bridge of the Dome ship LifeTree and watched the many warriors under his command go about their duty, unperturbed by the thought-speak announcement. This was an experienced crew, and such a standard ship maneuver was not enough to make them miss even a single step. Captain Linsol felt a touch of pride at that, the Andalites under his command made him proud.
Suddenly, the uninterrupted white light visible from every viewscreen transformed into a startling field of stars, marking the transfer from Zero-space to normal reality. Ahead of the great Dome ship, only slightly more than one million miles away, hung a small blue orb known as the planet Earth.

Niran-Nfihesk-Cokahn, the ships pilot, turned one of his stalk eyes to face the captain.
<We have emerged from Z-space precisely as calculated, Captain, and are ready to begin real-space travel to the planet upon your order.>
Jshnoca-Denflis-Bflash, the ships sensor officer, likewise turned a single stalk eye to the captain.
<We are detecting a multitude of craft in the vicinity of the planet, as well as strung throughout the rest of the system. Inhabited settlements on three of the planets apart from the Earth, as well as on a multitude of the moons orbiting the gas giants. The humans have clearly advanced greatly since our last contact.>
<It has been a long time, it is only right that they begin to explore the stars.>
The captain briefly closed his main eyes in remembrance of the last time humans and Andalites had come into close contact, several hundred years ago. That was in the time of the Yeerk war, before that parasitic species had been expelled from the galaxy and forced back down upon their home planet. It was a time of great victory...but also of great sadness. Many people, many species, had been lost to the Yeerks, and the galaxy still mourned their loss.
<Move us towards the planet, maximum realspace speed, and activate a broad-spectrum transmission.>
Almost instantly, the large engines mounted towards the rear of the Dome ship began to glow, rapidly accelerating the LifeTree to inter-planetary speeds.
<Estimated time of arrival at the Earth...one hour, any faster and we risk relativistic distortion.>
<Captain, the transmission has been activated.>
Captain Linsol took a deep breath and paused to steady his rapidly beating hearts, renewing contact with a different species was a momentous occasion, even to an Andalite with as varied a history as his.
<Attention people of Earth, this is Captain Linsol-Iroas-Kala aboard the Andalite Dome ship LifeTree, I bring you greetings from the Andalite Electorate and Lirem-Arrepoth-Terrouss. It has been to long since our two species have met, and we feel that it is time to rectify that error. We aboard the LifeTree have been sent to re-open diplomatic contact between our two people, and to embark upon an exchange of knowledge and information in the hope of fostering peace between our people. Years ago we cooperated against the Yeerk threat, and our people hope that that spirit can live on after the death of the Yeerks.>
One of the captains stalk eyes turned to the communications officer and the transmission disconnected.

OOC: I think this introduction is pretty much self-explanatory, the Andalites have popped into Sol and are looking to make some new friends.
For those who don't know, the Andalites are a fictional race from the young-adult book series, Animorphs (Quite a good book series, even though by now I'm a bit out of the targeted age group).
Visually, Anadalites seem to be a cross of various different Earth animals. Their lower bodies are often described as deer-like, having four legs and hooves. Their upper body is remarkably humanoid, with a torso much like a human and two arms in the proper place (Though they have seven fingers on each hand instead of five) and a human-shaped head on top of a neck. They have no mouths, communicating telepathically in thought-speak, and their noses are just slits in their face rather than a protruding object. They have two eyes where we have eyes, but they also have two stalk eyes on top of their heads. Being mounted on stalks, those eyes can rotate and the Andalites can look in many directions at once. Andalites also possess a tail, fast and deadly, at the end of their bodies. At the end of the tail is a rather vicious blade and, being faster than they eye can see, the tail is a rather deadly weapon.
The Dome ship will look to you rather like a large umbrella, or a mushroom. The majority of the ships operations take place in what is essentially a long stick, this contains the bridge and engines and everything else. At one end of the stick, however (referred to as the top), there is a giant dome (Hence the ships name). Clear glass (Well, actually some very high-tech glass like thing, but we'll just call it glass) covers what is essentially a giant park, several square miles of trees and grass and rives and lakes. The Andalites are open-space grazers and are extremely uncomfortable when confined to tight spaces, so the Dome ships bring along a bit of the homeworld with them for the Andalites to live and relax in.
