Okay, this is the plot. There is a uncharted island about two hundred or more miles off the western cost of Africa. A good sized island (350 miles by 200 miles). The island has not native people, only animals and planet life. An island that has no human on it. Now, I bet you are asking, why should I join this RP? Here are two reason, the island has both oil and many type of metal in it’s mountains. Gold, silver, iron, etc. And all of it has been spaced up on the map, so if you land anywhere you will be near some oil. And the sea around the island have oil, too. More stuff about the island, there are four large lakes and multiple rivers. And the island is heavily wooded, only about 1000 to 1500 yards is clear of wood on the coasts. Only about 100 to 200 yards are clear around the lakes.

Before you sign up, I want to tell you the rules. The first one, I want this to be a realism role-play. So, no million man army traveling on thousand of boats. Meaning I would like to have low numbers of soldiers that are send to the island. I would like the soldiers numbers to be around fifteen thousand limit. I don’t think anybdy would need more then that to hold any part of the island. Plus, at first, only send some teams (Around fifty to hundred soldiers) to island. And no WMDs. Understand?

The next rule, if you want to call it a rule. Treat me nicely and I will treat you nicely. Sounds easy, right? Meaning what ever you want me to call you, I will only call you by that. Same thing for me, I only want to be call Trans or JWolf, nothing else.

Key:
The small black dots are oil fields (Which you will not know about until you start drilling for it)
The yellow dots are the gold and silver (I think you can see those with satellites)
The gray dots are the other type of metal, iron and etc.
The dark green is 1,500 meters - 3,000 meters.
The olive green is 20 meters - 1,499 meters.
The neon green is sea level (0 meters) - 20 meters.

The first post is a WIP. So…it is going to get bigger as I add to the story. But you can post in the thread. Just keep in mind don’t sent over fifty or hundred soldiers at first. Have fun.

I would assume so... he said most of the island is covered in forests.

Like DMG said, there is planet life. The jungles of this island are like the jungles of Africa.

An alarm clock sounds, on the bedside table. Two bodies gently stir, their identities and sex obscured by a mass of duvet and bedsheets. A hand emerges and fumbles for the snooze button.

"Wha..? It...? Wu..?" Jay moaned . "It's seven am honey," Lisa replied, "I've gotta be up early today".Slowly, the same hand shifts the duvet down the bed, revealing the couple to the sliver of light that illuminates the room, peeking through the gap in the heavy curtains.
"We've got a midday kickoff," she continued "Some of the boys need fitness tests before we go." Lisa lay on her back, her shoulder length, curly brown hair spilling onto the pillow under her. She gently placed her hands on top of the duvet and lay there, her brown eyes blinking in the light.

Next to her, Jay stirred. Lieing on his side, face burried in the pillow. he shuffled up close to her and flung an arm out and across her chest. "You're not going anywhere today. Stay in bed with me, " he whispered into her neck, "Call in sick."
"I can't!" she squealed back, before turning towards him and kissing him on the head. Running her hand through his short brown hair, she turned his face to hers, and kissed him gently on the lips. "I have to get up," she said, in between kisses "I'm going to be late".

Lisa turned, flung back the duvet, giggling as she did so, and sat on the edge of the bed. Jay groaned and pulled the duvet back over him, all the while peeking at Lisa while she rubbed her face. He admired her slim physique; the dimples in the small of her back; ths soft glow of the sun on the side of her breast. She stood, causing the bed to gently rock, and padded across the floor to the bathroom. He squinted his eyes for the split second that the bathroom light was on with the door open, then relaxed in the darkness that followed.

He could hear the shower start, and Lisa begin to gently hum.

Lisa and Jay had been together for eleven months now. Both 25, they had been to University together, though they hadn't had any real involvement until beginning their professional careers. Both graduates of Sports Physiotherapy, Lisa was undoubtably the smarter of the two: a First Class honours student, who was headhunted by various high quality organisations and teams, almost from the start of their final year. Jay, on the other hand, relied on his charm and 'inter-personal skills' to gain employment, despite only having a 2:2 to his name.
Unbeknowst to each other, they had secured appointments in Football, working for rival teams based in the Midlands. Fate drew them together at a derby match.
It was while they were chatting in the bar after the game that Jay realised how hot Lisa really was. Sure, at Uni he'd seen her in her underwear numerous times during Anatomy practical - hell, she'd seen him in the same state- but he never considered her to be anything other than a friend.
Now, seeing her here, like this, with her short, curly hair and soft, brown eyes, his opinions changed. She stood a good six inches shorter than him, dressed in trainers, team issue tracksuit bottoms and a polo shirt that seemed to accentuate her slight bust. He briefly pondered on this, before taking in her face; her delicate lips, gently rounded cheeks and immaculately plucked eyebrows. He noticed that she was wearing no make up. He was a big advocate of the natural look, but remembered the real reason for this- make up makes the players' wives' see you as a threat, rather than a professional medic. She hadn't changed a bit; still that mischievous smile and giggle; still confident and articulate.
They exchanged numbers, purely as professionals, but it wasn't too long until they were seeing each other. They moved in together not long after as, in Lisas' words "they both work for local clubs, and it seems silly for them to both rent, when they could share a flat." And Jay agreed. She had breached his fear of commitment and he was actually enjoying it.

With a towel knotted around her chest, she gently leaned over him, letting the water drip of her hair and onto his face. "Go away!" he mumbled. "Aw, don't you love me?" Lisa joked. She moved to the full length mirror at the end of the room. "Shield your eyes." she said, over her shoulder, and flicked on bedroom light. Jay hid back under the duvet, but couldn't resist catching glimpses of Lisas' reflection in the mirror. He watched as she toweled herslef down, paying attention to the most delicat parts; in between her toes and under her arms. She carried on, aware that he was looking, and began to dry slower and more sensuously, delicately drying the back of her knees, bent over, showing her pert bottom and slender thighs.

Added two parts to the first post (2:15 and 2:45). After everybody has a post on the IC thread, I will write a new post and DT, I answer you in that post.

Added a two more times, 3:15 and 3:17, to the first post. I’m going to do a 3:45 one (It will deal with some of the ten men, tell a little history on them), a 4:00 AM one (This one will deal with the Dominion send a ship to the island) and a 6:00 one. Then that is for the first post.

I'll wait until something decent happens before I post a reasonable sized post.

Added the 3:45 and 4:00 parts to the first post. Oh…DMG, I will add your area to the map. And you are right, your men are on the highest part of the island, about 3,000 meters. They would not be that much flat spaces up there, so have fun.

Heheh... intentional. I am intending to keep my overall force deployment very small... and to have the high ground is quite beneficial, especially when my forces can get used to it and figure out its ins and outs.

Plus, if they don't claim it at the beginning (which would be unorthodox like what I did), my people will spread out and claim it up.

Yes it is 'safer' (except on the defense), but also it is just natural. You start from the point you can get to easiest and move up. Also, it is better to have a connection to the water, but I decided to have some fun and not get a connection.

lol, I was thinking about putting fifty rounds into a mountain lion in my next post.

I didn’t know there was an African mountain lion. But they could be an evolved version of the normal African lion, which are on this island. And one round in the head will kill it, you don’t need to waste fifty rounds.

@Phoenixius: You know the path of your scout vehicle will have to be long one, it will have to ride on the beach all the way down. If I did the math right, it will be 400 miles for that one vehicle to travel. That is long way to go and spy on somebody.

I had a carrier (the only ship I sent to the island) that was very close to Africa. Logically, I tasked that one to investigate as soon as I heard the news.

The Fleet is there primarily for logistical support. If we're going to fight--it will probably stay out of the battles.

@Jagada: Damn, that is a nice fleet. That is a big fleet for logistical support but whatever floats your boat. Hahaha, I made a funny. Your forces are in norther-eastern area of the island, right? Anywhere you would like me to place a dot for your base?

@Phoenixius: You say mid-afternoon then after that you have noon. Did you mean mid-morning?

@Everybody: As you can see Jagada is week ahead of us. So, nobody can enter act with him until the RP moves up to a week. By that time, nobody should control that much land unless they have more soldiers or civilians to guard those lands.

The Fleet is there primarily for logistical support. If we're going to fight--it will probably stay out of the battles.

That is one large fleet to send... how much in the way of land forces to you plan on sending it.

A long time ago I got Five City-States from Jenrak. This Fleet was moving to secure Jagada's every expanding Colonial Empire. The City-States are libertarians and the like, and once the Jenrakians pulled out, they started going a little nutty (meaning rebellions). I put down such independance hopes awhile ago--though I never kept ground forces in the area.

The Tenth Fleet had on board 5,000 of the Rear Guardsmen--masters of defense. Right now they will only slowly unload, to ensure that I'm not ahead of everybody. So basically I got what I need with me for awhile.

Really, Jagada, you are the last to arrive at the island. Meaning everybody is ahead of you. Everybody has been on the island for a whole week by the time you arrived.

And Jagada, I’m going to point this thread for you. http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=494589 This is that thread: Jagada: You'll get Nakros Ithrimm back once we actually role play. Jenrak only had one of your former cities as an City-State, to my knowledge.

Nope, why make a new post that is small. And my next post will need to used for the Grim Reaper’s action at my border. Add to my last post, it shows the pathway of the storm and a timeline of the storm’s path.

You don't have to wait until someone brings it to night if that is where you want to RP... just use fluid time and say it is night when you post even if everyone else is RPing at eleven AM.

Thats not his fault, you wanted to send personnel to the highest point, now you have to deal with the consequences of that action. I really feel sorry for your personnel DMG. Weather is so much worse at higher attitudes. They are getting pounded.

Not true actually (on two accounts). It is fault obviously... he created the path after I put where my people were... thus his fault. Also, my people actually won't get pounded that much. When a tropical storm/hurricane hits a natural obstacle like a mountain, part of its power is dissipated, thus its winds are slowed. The only time when the entire storm will be fully on my level (meaning ground level will be 3000 ft), will be when the eye passes over me... thus even weaker.

Also, if you noticed, my people are underground...

A large Tropical Storm but not a full blown hurricane. The wind speed with be same as or less as Tropical Storm's wind speed and it would just be a super rain storm.

@Jagada: Talked with Jenrak and this is what he telegrammed me.

My border is just haphazardly placed mines. You could easily RP people walking around them accidentaly, purposly walking over them, noticing them (some are bound to be sloppy), or if you want: being blown to bits. Whatever. its just there for show.

True, but here is another thing that does sit right with me. What type of mines? Anti-tank or anti-personal? The latter would be set out by the fifty pound animals that run around the jungles.

And how does a half-track drive through a heavily wooded jungle? This is island’s jungles is thick one, most of the trees are space apart two feet or three feet. Some are rarely spaced five to six feet apart.

I use 40 so I don't have to open so many pages. They may take a little longer to load, but I can read the whole page without interruptions from the page loading.

Page loading takes 1 second for me unless Jolt is being a bitch. Besides, I use Firefox so opening 10 tabs (pages) isn't a big deal.

Reading through some of the other, more advanced posts, is it really feasible to have so much tech and equipment on the island in such a short space of time? Using the UK Army as a guidleine, I doubt we could move that fast!

And is it purely a Military/island, or are we to conduct our diplomatic dealings on the same thread? Though we (HKN) are on the island, it has been stated, and is still the official line, that we are deciding whether the island is of interest to us.

What type of tech are you talking about? From the looks of it, the bases are just wooden buildings, chain link fence, machine gun nest. Nothing to high on the tech level.

Seeing as I’m…umm…really bigger then the RL United Kingdom. The RL UK’s pop is 60,609,153. Mine is 3,085,000,000. So…I think we can move things around faster then the nations in RL. Plus, the stuff for the supertankers has been moved to the ports from Day Two before the tanker got there.

Everyone pretty much understands that NS isn't 100% realistic... it would be kind of boring if you had to make 50 posts about getting your soldiers ready before sending them off, which takes another 20 posts and months.

Besides, if anything is pre-fabbed it can be put up in no time.

Don't worry, they aren't going after your guys. A) your base is entirly viewable from the air (remeber the barracuda) B) your nation publically announced its claim. There is no reason to go after you. Theyr are heading north, twoards Phoenixius, they knnow very litlle about them, so they are checking them out.

It isn't hitting the sand that is hard... it is actually landing a plan on it. You can't land a plane, especially such a heavy one, on sand.

Common sense? The wheel of the plane would just go right into the sand and snap off at that speed. Not to mention that sand isn't flat and beaches are angled upwards.

Let's get a few things straight.
1) It was not a beach they built it on.
2) They used gravel and hard sand
3) It was level, not on an angle.
4) Gravel and Hard Sand =/= Beach Sand
5) It was only capable of supporting planes as large as a DC-3 (small plane), nothing like a transport aircraft.

Well, on Kikko Island it is the beach or to crash into the jungle. You are thinking about doing emergency landing in the USA or placed with long paved roads, I’m thinking about emergency landings in placed without paved roads. Places like areas of Africa, a random desert and the Middle East.
