The Navy
The sailors and officer of the Tuareg navy are almost entirely former pirates who prowled the waters of north Africa given a shot of discipline. As a result they are well versed in ship to ship combat and are very familiar with their home waters. Many of the former pirate havens are now ports of call for the new navy. Many of the policies of the navy are similar to those of the pirates who used to roam the seas. The best example of this is the plunder division system. 70% of the plunder off a ship goes to the government, 20% goes to the Officer Corpse, and 10% goes to the sailors. All of these percentages are in addition to their monthly wages.

The Army
The officers of the Tuareg army is made up of mostly veterans from the bloody all out six year clan warfare that raged through the Tuareg lands seven years ago. The officers do their best to inform the common soldier about how to conduct one's self in warfare. The Tuareg army is made up of loyal soldiers from all over the empire, something that is relatively new for the Tuaregs. It used to be that a chieftain would maintain his own force, but when Amud wiped out the aristocracy when he first came to power, he consolidated all of their armies into a new imperial force.

Marines
A new elite corp who's specialty is in amphibious operations. They practice regularly in the Gulf of Tunis.
