The Zhang-Sakura Corporation....in space.

OOC: 4th attempt at getting this puppet off the dang ground. Those of you who've RPed with Upper Xen in detail might know what corporation I'm referring to. If not, well, read on. Note: this won't be mixed with New Dornalia (which I'll still be playing), and I'm sure ICly, the two will love to fight each other.
IC:
Somewhere over New Nippon, Fujishima Sector-
Freddy Zhang-Sakura was nursing a whiskey shot in the Company Citadel. He had read the reports from the Fordlandia Sector; the strikers were restless again, and Corporate Marines and Battlecruisers were once again finding themselves locked in battle with their own citizens. "Guess they can't take enough C-14 Gauss Rifle Shots, can they?" Freddy thought. Meh. Fordlandia was always rebellious. Descended from Americans, expectant of big raises, cushy benefits. Well, he was running a business, not a charity.
He then sent back, "General Johnson, send the ZSCS Justice and ZSCS Steamhammer at the rebels. Crush them, and don't let elements get away as pirates this time. That was inconvienent."
He then checked the reports once more. Lewville was calm. As was Starfox Colony. It seemed everywhere but Fordlandia in the Seven Systems of the ZSCA, the Zhang-Sakura Corporate Alliance, were calm.
In most other sectors, the settlements were peaceful, and generally did not resist the Corporate Police Force, the large policing body modeled after the Xenizen National Police, and certainly wielded with less morality. Yet somehow, all of their meddling could not stop the unions. A shame, since they should've known such resistance was useless.
But anyway....Freddy didn't have time to deal with them. He had to get the Board of Directors together for their bimonthly meeting. It was a formality; he held most of the power. But still, it did provide some element of democracy that appeased enough of the Alliance citizens to allow him to rule.

The Board meeting was filled with the usual group. Seven men sat around the table, seven head honchos who reeked of resignation on the outside, but ambition on the inside, and a desire to become the top dog. They were, as they appeared on the roll call:
Frederick "Freddy" Zhang-Sakura, President of the Alliance, CEO of the Zhang-Sakura Corporation's Fujishima Sector Holdings
Jackie Ford, Governor of Fordlandia
Victoria Lew the 25th, First Citizen of Lewville
Tenchi Mishima, President of the Mitsui Concession
Eli Mackensen, CEO of the News Corporation Starfox Colony Division
Wilhelm Epstein, Governor-General of Xenizen Military Arms Corporation
All but Victoria Lew and Freddy Zhang-Sakura were powerless; their holdings had long since been made into mere protectorates after the Great Sector War. So it was not a surprise when Freddy said, "Gentlemen, let us call this meeting to order. What is the first order of business?"
Ford raised his hand.
"Ah, yes. Mr. Ford. How fares Fordlandia?"
Ford then said, somewhat sheepishly, "Well...we'd like more Corporate Marines, sir. My Security Department isn't quite potent enough to do the job...we've sustained heavy casualties already and our men are beginning to sympathize with the strikers. And as it is, we've got all of our Armor on it, we're besieging them as we speak."
He then showed to the Board a picture of Arclite Siege Tanks, bombarding positions held by strikers, flanked by Goliaths and Grizzly air support. But the pictures indeed told a horrid story; the strikers had dug in, and it seemed they had their own Goliaths, salvaged from Ford Security Department skirmishes.
Freddy then said, "I am sending in more men already. Two Battlecruisers are on their way, along with an army of Corporate Marines."
Ford then said, "Thank you, Mr. Zhang-Sakura!"
Freddy then said, with some discontent, "But....you owe me. This is the third time we've had to bail out your Security Department. Now I know better than to use collective Alliance resources to get my way, but if you don't improve, the Ford Motor Company of Upper Xen's holdings will be put into recievership of the Board. This means I'll use troops to restore order, and do whatever is necessary to bring your people into line. And your Security Department still hasn't met its contributions to the Corporate Marine Corps and the Corporate Treasury. You know the rules."
Ford then said, "We've been busy with the war as it is--you have to understand!"
Wilhelm then slammed his fist down and said, "Do I have to hear this man complain again? My money is not being well spent, and my men have better things to do."
Lew then said, "But a worker's strike in the Fordlandia Sector could result in a general labor unrest. As it is, the People's Movement has become very popular, and I find myself busied as well. If we crush the rebellion, then we can persuade the people that rebellion is not the answer."
Wilhelm then said, turning to Lew, "That is why I do not use naked oppression, like Mr. Zhang-Sakura. I bother to feed my workers, and I know you do too. So why are you listening to him!?"
Lew then said, "Because that's just one part of it. We also need to show some muscle...and I am sure muscle would be appreciated."
Freddy then said, "Ladies, Gentlemen, please. The important thing here is the revolt. Now who votes to recall the men. I don't."
Lew then said, "I don't too. In fact, I will send a force of ships to assist as well."
The others grumbled, they had no choice to follow. Only Wilhelm refused....

OOC: Sure.

OOC: A history, before I move further:
The Seven Sectors were orginally established by corporations from Upper Xen as a way to excape the climate and the nastiness of the country as it began to become more and more crowded and more like a police state (and to finance a good tax shelter), had since grown into little settlements of their own, with substantial economies and urban centers.
It seemed one corporation from each geographical region Upper Xen owned had moved into the stars, using colony ships built mainly by Zhang-Sakura Corporation, at that time, Upper Xen's most powerful corporation and originator of the colonization concept.
This gave them an early edge; one corporation that dared to resist Zhang-Sakura's demands for a 20% cut of mining found a supply train suddenly self-destructing, and those that Zhang-Sakura saw as especially harmful competitors often found themselves unable to claim planets in the areas discovered by early Zhang-Sakura financed space missions, their missions suddenly sabotaged, their astronauts arrested for narcotics possession...
Naturally, such behavior was becoming intolerable; and the Great Sector War broke out between the Zhang-Sakura Corporation and another one, the Lew Congolmerate, a rival outfit owned by the descendants of Gordon Lew, Upper Xen's President at the time of the Civil War, a traumatic event that led to the expansion of Upper Xen and the rise of what many regarded as the "The Fine State," Fine meaning legal fines or worse punishments, a sly reminder of the way National Police, the military establishment, and the government in general grew in power.
Lew's family was rich enough to force the Zhang-Sakura to allow it a system to colonize, but when Victoria Lew XII's son, Governor Michael John Lew, was assassinated by Zhang Sakura agents during a trade dispute, the war began in earnest. Both sides used mercenaries, and developed the first of the Battlecruisers, along with many of the other ships of the modern Alliance Navy. Eventually, the Lews lost, with the Zhang-Sakura sacking Lewville, the capital of the Lewville Concession. But the Lews had fought the Zhang-Sakura with great ferocity, and thus were spared total annihilation--especially since the Lews were amassing a fleet back on Earth for one last blow.
Thus, it was decided the two would enter a partnership, the Lews being junior partner, but allowed to maintain command of their own military and to some extent, their own autonomy--a situation reflected on the fact that the Lews had just the same amount of power on the Board as the Zhang-Sakura.
The war, however, did consolidate Zhang-Sakura rule over the region, as the Lews had enlisted the help of Ford, Mitsubishi and Mitsui, News Corporation, and Xenizen Military Arms Corporation (the by now privatized foreign export arm of the National Armscorp). They were not treated as well, recieving violent reprisals in the course of the war, including virus bombs and terror attacks on their holdings. These, plus large battles at Edsel II, Diamante I, and the Bight crippled the others, and they were forced into the Zhang-Sakura Corporate Alliance, in which they were allowed to maintain their autonomy, though this time, to terms favorable to Zhang-Sakura. Power was consolidated around Zhang-Sakura's capital at New Nippon, and a massive bureaucracy was established, ensuring that this Alliance was really an empire in all but name....
And by the way, the Alliance uses Starcraft Terran tech, with some modifications, such as decent FTL powered by Xen teleportation tech, and with allowances for Vortiguants and Xen aliens, though these are a minority.
the Kirisuban Exploration ship "Tengu" was exploring nearby.
the silver winged ship was a Kurakka class crusier, 120m wide and 100m long. it was a flat ship only 5 decks high but very agile.
they also had a cloaking device and enough firepower to deal with most hostiles they ran into.
on the bridge Samurai-Captain Aiko Isawa sat in her command chair looking over at her all female bridge crew. All her crew were women which wasn't surprising since men only made up 1/3 of the population.
she looked over the data collected and ordered the helm officer to set course to the next system on their route, the Fujishima sector..

Outside the Fujishima Sector-
The Defense Platforms ringing the Fujishima Sector, really just a system of heavily settled planets, were the home of the ZSCS Forger and the ZSCS Dominator, two of six Behemoth-class Battlecruisers on exercises with smaller Avenger-class carrier ships (OOC: Made an original design, as Terrans don't quite have carriers) and two Battlecrusiers from the Armscorp team, who were playing the "Pirates" in a scenario.
The commander of the Dominator, Commodore James Graham, was leading the exercises, and so far, he was winning. However, the Helmsman aboard ship said, "Sir!"
Graham said, "What is it, helm?"
Helm said, "Sir, I'm detecting a unknown element. It's not registered as an official wargame participant."
Graham said, "Inform the Armscorp team, and ceasefire for a moment. Scan the incoming ship. And Communications, have the Forger follow me."
The Helmsman and the Communication officer said, "Aye, sir." And began scanning. As they executed Graham's orders, the referee, Major General Nakamura, said, "Commodore Graham! Why have you stopped!" Graham only replied that an intruder had strayed into the area, and they went to investigate.
The ship came onscreen, and it revealed itself as a disklike ship, with little stubby wings. Graham then said to Communications, "Open a hailing frequency."
Communications complied, and then said, "This is the Zhang-Sakura Corporate Alliance Ship Dominator. Please state your identity."

He then said, "So, you are explorers? Well, I suppose we will have to escort you in then. You pose no threat, but its for security reasons. Wait a moment, will you?"
He then had Communications establish a wire transmission with the Referee, and explain the situation. She was angry the wargames were going to be put on hold for a foreign spectator, so she then said, "Finish this round out, and we'll be done. Then you may escort them in."
Graham then said, sighing, "No thanks." He then said to Aiko, "I'd rather not keep a lady waiting. Follow me."
The Dominator then broke ranks, and command was left to the Forger. He'd get a reprimand, but he'd be damned if this captain didn't get some customer service.

The Helmsman just rolled his eyes, and said nothing. He knew Graham had a weakness for the ladies, to the point where it had been an annoyance. Still, he seemed gentlemanly enough right now, as he directed the Dominator and the Tengu past the Defense Platforms and into Zhang-Sakura Territory, the Fujishima Sector. He hailed the Yomiuri Station, and told the authorities to get ready to send someone from Corporate Public Relations up. PR, of course, now functioning as the Diplomatic Corps of the Alliance.
--------------
President Freddy Zhang-Sakura was informed whilst in meeting with the other representatives, having just cussed out Epstein for his stubborn independence and threatening invasion. The news of a foriegn element entering Alliance space was interesting, it'd be their first alien in a while.

The Yomiuri Station gave clearance for the Tengu to dock, and the Dominator did the same. A representative from the Public Relations Department had arrived by dropship as fast as possible; teleportation technology based on old gates found in Upper Xen was being researched but wasn't quite reliable yet. The representative, a tall, giant man, Junichiro Fujishima, straightened his tie and prepared to do business.

Edsel IV, Fordlandia Sector--
Private Marcus threw his cigarette onto the ground and simply growled at it. He cursed the strikers out there, cursing their guerilla tactics, their use of IED's, their use of stolen Ford Security Equipment-even cursing his fellow Security Department soldiers who felt there needed to be compromise. This situation clearly was past that point.
He couldn't remember when the Strikes first began. It was probably a few years after the formation of the Alliance, when he was first born. His dad had recalled how Zhang-Sakura had pummelled Ford in the Great Sector War, and began levying heavy taxes and demands on the company after the Formation of the Alliance. His family was on the fence. They just wanted to live. But the United Auto Workers and the Fordlandian Free Labor Association weren't happy with the state of affairs. Years passed, riots broke out, and when the Security Department opened fire on the Strikers, they fired back with ex-miltary gauss rifles and molotov cocktails, and went underground, forming the People's Movement, or the PM for short.
Seems many of them were Soldiers once for the Security Department. Now they were making fools of their former employers, making peace one day and staging a successful raid the next. It was the reason he got drafted, why his best friend got shot in the chest, and why his girlfriend fled to Starfox Colony.
And now, he was here.
The cadence of Siege Tanks firing their Arclite Guns at distant positions and Wraiths making air patrols was no more new to him than the sunrise. He trained his gun at the trenches far away, the C-14 Gauss Rifle that had saved him from many jams and would for many patrols to come, if an IED didn't intervene first and penetrate his A-1 Standard Armor, which was made by the lowest bidder.
Then, the alarm went out. A rebel attack. His squad commander told him to get down, he did, and poked his head out of the trench just a tad, before ducking. Up in the sky were PM aircraft, PM Wraiths making a pass at them, before leaving. It was nothing.
But the sounds of screaming men, clad in Marine armor and in Light Infantry Armor, charging forth at them was something to worry about. The Siege Tanks turned on them, but some PM soldiers got close, and their infantry began shooting at them, throwing grenades and molotovs in the meantime. Snipers with Canister Rifles began firing at the enemy, while Marines dumped Gauss Rifle fire and Heavy Gauss Autogun positions (OOC: An original invention, again filling a gap) fired away. Most of the rebels broke, some of the more determined ones, in parody of their Flamethrower men--"Firebat" was the unofficial term, but meh--got close and soaked the trenches in flame. Gunshots rang out, a few of Marcus' comrades died, and the Firebats were taken out as well in blazing fireball. Medics came to provide support, using nano-surgical chemical healing tools that were a mix of improved Xenizen nanites and sheer chemical might to heal the wounded in a short span, and taking away the badly injured ones to triage.
Marcus sighed, and opened his helmet to wipe his brow. It was another day on the job....

The ZSCS Justice and ZSCS Steamhammer were moving into the Fordlandia system, backed by their Lew-based Battlecruiser escorts and Avenger Carriers, packed to the gill with Wraiths and Grizzlies, as well as dropships of Corporate Marines.
As they flew closer to Edsel IV, the nearest inhabited planet of the Fordlandia system (Edsels III-I were on the fringe of the system, but were all uninhabitable, mainly mining colonies for Vespene, and industrial facilities and Neosteel mills, using the latest form of Neosteel technology, the product of centuries of research), they could see Fordlandian Battlecruisers nearby. Oddly enough, the Fordlandians produced some of the highest quality weapons and vehicles in the fleet, besides the Armscorp men; they had been automakers once. However, these "Fordtough" vehicles were increasingly rare now, the product of years of civil strife.
The ZSCS Billy Ford met them, and said, "Thank God you're here. We're in a shitload of trouble. Follow us."
The commander of the Justice wondered why the Ford Security Department and local Corporate Alliance Navy and Marine units couldn't keep control. Especially with battlecruisers....
Still, they moved in closer to the planet. Around the ships were wreckage of all kinds, ugly reminders of a conflict still going on.

The battlecruisers then flew over Edsel IV. If the People's Movement wouldn't surrender, then the battlecruisers would destroy them.
Initiating atmospheric procedures, they sailed gently like angels, descending first into low orbit, then into suborbit, then down and down until:
"General Jackson. We're within the atmosphere," said the helm of the Justice.
Jackson merely replied from his chair, "All battlecruisers and carriers hold altitude at 15,000 feet. Dropships and escorts are to go at 25,000 feet, and stay above us. Instruct all battlecruisers and carriers to initiate Formation Delta, Attack Plan Alpha. Beta is not to be used unless trouble presents itself."
The battlecruisers and the carriers arranged themselves in a series of large v-shapes, and the dropships did as told. Then, they proceeded inexorably towards their targets.
Jackson then turned to Weapons and asked, "Status of Yamato Cannon?"
Weapons replied, "Yamato is at 75% charge. It'll be ready by the time we get there."
Jackson then said, "Very well."

On the ground, the People's Movement's missile turrets, crude AAA and maze of trenches and bunkers were teeming with men and machines. Nary a building existed on the surface, however. Underneath the trenches, tunnels were dug, and underground factories and warrens existed....so vast, the Vietcong would even have to be amazed.
The product of countless wars with the Alliance, this "town," like so many other People's Movement controlled towns, was fortified for defense, protected against the inevitable tide of bombers, Firebats, Siege Tanks and whatnot they could muster. Meant to defend against the massive wave of Battlecruisers the Alliance could send at them, such as the one that was moving in, it seemed secure.
Yet as the People's Movement spotters recognized, it was also a tempting target. As they sat there, prepared for battle, smoked cigars, and produced more food and guns, they could see men assembling. Most were Ford Security Department, it seemed. Nothing that couldn't be destroyed. They had the technology, but not the stomach. But there were also Corporate Marines, people who had both. They were to be feared.
Just like the battlecruisers that suddenly appeared high over the enemy ranks. They were at 15,000 feet, high up to make it difficult for their Missile Turrets, but it was worth a shot. The turrets lit up, and began shooting their ordinance into the sky, as did the flak....
--------------
The ship began to shake just a little, and the Weapons Officer said, "General. We're facing enemy fire, missiles and ballistic ordinance. What course of action do we take?"
Jackson calmly replied, "Lower altitude, begin returning fire with burst lasers, target the missile turrets. Relay that order to all vessels."
Weapons replied, "Aye, Captain."
The vessels then sailed down, rapidly shooting back with their formidable burst laser cannons, tearing up enemy missile turrets. However, this had awakened the PM SCVs, which began fixing them rapidly, as well as teams of Saboteurs that began launching EMP Lockdown Missiles at the ships. Their crude versions often missed or misfired, but a few hit the battlecruisers, and two suddenly stopped firing.
The groundbased Siege Tanks were ordered by General Jackson to fire on the incoming enemy infantry, and a wave of artillery fell upon them, forcing them back and enabling the battlecruisers and the accompanying ships to get closer, firing upon the enemy defenses with their guns and unleashing waves of Grizzlies and Wraiths to help soften up the LZ's.
The People's Movement pulled back; they knew thiss was bad. Good thing they had Spider Mines....

There were only a few aboveground targets to take here. A starport used to ferry men and materiel, a few abovegroud barracks, and maybe some generators for the lights, plus a hospital and some supply dumps. These were torched by the air support, they would not be needed. The real targetss were the tunnel entrances.
The troops on the ground proved tougher to crack. There were still insurgents in the trenches, but not since the pullout. The Security Department men and the Corporate Marines on the ground assaulted them head on, with support from troops landed behind the maze of defenses by the Dropships, which fanned out and began hunting for insurgents.
The insurgents struck back soon enough, the spider mines awoke and skittled towards the Corporates as the stranded squads charged into the enemy ranks to avoid being captured. Despite frequent gunfire, many ran into the ranks, and deaths and injuries occurred.
This was only the beginning, however. Major casualties from the conflict would not come until the tunnels were blown in; this was done with aid from a Yamato Gun that blew open a tunnel entrance and allowed the Marines entrance. The result was that the Marines and Firebats entered using Close-Quarters Combat drill, and began scanning the alternatively cavernous halls and tight ratholes of the tunnels for enemy facilities.
The Yomiuri Station gave clearance for the Tengu to dock, and the Dominator did the same. Drone guns, spider mines, and enemy soldiers with molotovs and shotguns plagued the teams, and grenade exchanges became frequent and shots and close ambushes dogged the advance of the men. Judging by the movement of civilians witnessed by the men, it seemed the PM was moving itsself, fighting a nasty retreat as it moved its men by an underground tram. Thus, the objective was clear. Find the power stations, and disable the tram.
Six teams of Marines began to search around and eventually found its coordinates, moving in for the kill. The power generators were heavily defended, and thus the Marines fell back, and allowed the Goiliaths to join in, firing their heavy machine guns at the enemy, and the Firebats, with a gout of flame.
In the end, they charged the powerplants, and shot them utterly, burning them to smithereens. The tram stopped, and the Corporates were allowed to mop up the complex, interning civilians and dealing with anybody that resisted.

With the end of this fight, the casualties were calculated, and overall, 1,200 Corporate Marines and Ford Security Department personnel were killed, many more wounded.
The city they had siezed, "Freetown," was a vital PM center, as it turned out. And they had discovered the true existence of the PM's tram system, the system used to ship men from place to place. Thus, the tram was reactivated, slowly, while Special Forces teams were sent in, cloaked, to investigate it and map it out.

Within the halls of the Board of Directors room, there was relief from Freddy Zhang-Sakura and Jackie Ford. An important rebel stronghold had been taken, one that had taken a year to crack. Reports from Corporate Special Forces indicated that the tunnel networks under the surface expanded massively, and despite cover of cloak, they had nearly been killed on a number of occasions.
Freddy ordered the Special Forces units to take out the tram network by any means necessary. He was especially enamored of a plan that called for the use of explosive charges to sever the links between the colonies, thus allowing the Ford Company and the Marines to retake the towns.
The meeting place was a small diplomatic meeting room, with a round table, a view of New Nippon, and wait staff scurrying back and forth throughout. He led them to their chairs, modernist designs that were still comfortable, and then sat down himself. He then folded his hands on the desk and said, "Would you like something to drink?"
Aiko and Chigusa sat down both removing their katanas's from their belt sashes and resting the swords against the chairs.
Aiko replied "Domo Arigato Gozai-mashita. some green tea would be lovely"
Chigusa looked out the window while the guard kept watch just inside the door out of earshot. The city didn't look much different from Neo-Edo the capital of the former homeworld, now an asteroid field.

Chigusa looked out the window while the guard kept watch just inside the door out of earshot. The city didn't look much different from Neo-Edo the capital of the former homeworld, now an asteroid field.
Junichiro replied, "You're welcome, Ma'am."
The city of Newport City below was indeed a bustling metropolis....a tall and wide city that fit the outsized ego of its owners, the Zhang-Sakura, as well as, if you looked deep enough, a symbol of what The Who would call "the Eminence Front" put up by the Zhang-Sakura. Many skyscrapers and industrial complexes, built on the planned community originally drawn up by the Zhang-Sakura those many years ago, seemed to grow from the ground, obscuring the maze of skyways, trams, and far below that, the seedy underbelly that hosted Mod gangs and sights reminiscent of 1970's Flint or post-WWII England below.
He then flagged down a waiter, and asked for green tea, a pot for them and some cups. The waiter promptly came back, and even poured the tea for them with almost militaristic precision before walking off. Junichiro then picked up the cup, and raised it in a toast, saying with a beaming smile, "To a Fruitful Relationship."
Both Aiko and Chigusa drank the tea in response to the toast before the Captain said "I hope this can be a fruitful relationship. We're still rebuilding after the loss of New Kirisubo and although we have alliances with others its always good to make more friends"

Junichiro then drank his tea, and set his cup down, wiping his lips before saying, "Indeed it is. We in the Alliance have always found joint ventures productive; indeed, they have proved utterly vital to our survival here. As such, we look forward to working with you."
He then said, "If I may ask.....what happened to New Kirisubo? We do have limited communications networks, including those that potentially can be used to access most standard galactic networks, but we have not made formal alien contact as of yet--so alas, I am slightly amiss as to what happened exactly."
Aiko nods to Chigusa who picks up the story.
"Fujishima san, a small communist group somehow set of a viral weapon in Neo-Osaka not so long ago.
where they got it from is not important now since 75% of our plantary population died in the aftermath. the problem is that once they died they didn't stay dead and became zombies.
it took nova torpedoes from Sephrion Arms Tech to destroy the infection but we lost the planet in the process.
Our warrior caste broke away and now call themselves the Kiribushi. their worlds are in Sephrioth space and Neo-Kirisubo is based in the Federal Union's space.
We are in the process of rebuilding and our exploration efforts are continuing since we need friends and allies more than ever.

Fujishima listened intently, and shook his head, going in a sympathetic voice, "My God, those sons-of-bitches. Sorry for the language, but it just intolerable what they did to your people...."
He then thought with hidden glee: "Oh yeah....an excellent investment opportunity....time to sieze it," before saying, "We can offer your people a Defensive Pact, a trade pact, and a Non Aggression Pact. As well, we can sell food products, as well as Battlecruisers and Wraith fighters. The Wraiths have cloaking built in them, making them excellent scouts and guerilla fighters, and they have excellent anti-ship missiles; though you are free to switch them out with whatever weapons you need.
Also, Behemoth class Battlecruisers are formidable ships, good if smallish multipurpose vessels that can enter atmospheres, hold a limited number of Wraiths, and contain powerful burstlasers, as well as a Yamato Cannon, a powerful directed energy weapon that can make the difference in space and ground combat. You would also be free to modify these as you wish. Initial rates would be for USD$450,000,000 per battlecruiser, half of the usual cost, and USD$3.5 million per Wraith, half of the usual cost. They may seem high, but we have the facilities available to serve you, and judging by your situation, it seems a little more security is welcome."
OOC: Note: Prices are negotiable, feel free to haggle.
Aiko thought as she listened 'he doesen't know we already have a cloaking device'.
"we are fine for food since our matter replicators can provide most of our needs and soon our farms will be producing their first rice crops.
your ships sound interesting although. what are the capibilities of the battlecrusers and how many crew do they require? Theres also a matter of obtaining spare parts if we obtain these ships"

Fujishima then said, smiling, "I'm glad you asked. The Battlecruiser itself (OOC: As Zhang Sakura uses it; I can't find exact Starcraft stats) is 500 meters long, 200 meters wide, and 100 meters tall. As we use it, it has one Yamato Cannon, and about 12 Burst-Laser Batteries scattered all over the ship, in multiple turrets, as well as 12 HALO Missile Launcher Batteries scattered all over; capable of mounting multiple types of warheads.
These vary by the Sector; the ships from our Ford sector use five-cannon turrets, we use triple turrets in the Zhang-Sakura--which is standard issue, anyway. Crew is about 500-750 men per ship. The reactor is a standard Colossus Reactor, a fusion-power plant which is very efficient, and the carrying capacity for fighters is 24 Wraiths or 12 Valkirye Fighter-Bombers, though that's why we have dedicated carrier craft now. But again, you may be free to switch out the weapons with native armaments or technology, at no penalty to you. That means we will cancel no agreements because of upgrades made natively.
And yes, we will sell you the spare parts, should you keep the basic components. In fact; the purchase agreement will have you covered under our Five Year Quality Guarantee--meaning you get free repairs at any of our facilities, and spare parts at half cost or much, much less. In fact, we might give you enough spare parts to repair these parts for free for this time. How is that?"
Inside, Fujishima hurt just a little. All these freebies...alas, it was to clear a sale, and ensure that the Kirisubans would continue to invest in Zhang-Sakura. Freddy wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

We have a challenge for you. The Cassiopeian Star Navy is currently looking for a flagship/command ship. Since the boys in the research and development department is a bit... stuck, we've decided to contact a foreign corporation. Quite simply, you are one of the candidates. We want a ship between the sizes of 1.3KM and 1.5KM. Its main arsenal must include thermonuclear hypervelocity missiles. There must be space for sizable amount of fighters. Also, lots of shield very fine hull and you are free to use as much cash as possible, since we will only be needing three. But we will build the ships themselves, we just want the plans.
Take as much time as you want, we are willing to wait and pay alot of money for this ship.

Aiko pondered this and replies "my government would have to be informed off this offer but I feel that the battlecruisers would not suit our needs for now. we don't have the woman power to crew them.
you can tell me about the Wraith fighters although and the requirements they need.
I have no problem with agreeing trade pacts or a NAP for now since trade is always beneficial and peace is good for business"

He then said, thinking, "As for the Wraiths....they require only one pilot to fly. They have a cloaking device, good for scouting and intercept. They also have a repeating laser cannon for ground attack and close in dog-fighting, and two hardpoints with internal storage rack for a variety of weapons, especially 18 M-8 anti-ship missiles with a variety of yields, ultimately up to 10,000 kilograms, though we mainly use High-Explosive shaped warheads for ship killing duty. However, canister rounds, EMP, and others are available upon request.
As for size, they are 12m in length, and have a 15m wingspan, though the wings can fold up for storage. Their JX-300 Starfire Propulsion System, built by Ford Motor Company of Upper Xen's Aerospace Division, provide incredible thrust up to MGLT 230, perfect for outrunning enemy defenses, plus small, unobtrusive manuevering thrusters for use in space combat. They have relatively good armor, but a determined foe with an AA weapon can take them down. But cloaked or uncloaked, sic them against ground or air targets and you have a winner."
He then showed Aiko footage of Wraiths in action against People's Movement targets, as they ducked, weaved, and moved in perfect v formation, hunting enemy wraiths and Dropships belonging to the People's Movement with split-second precision. they moved in cloaked, a Wraith's gun cam provided action shots for this round, and then when decloaking commenced, the action began, moving to a more cinematic view as the enemy was swept up in a flurry of attacks, with Immelmann Turns, J-turns, and all sorts of movements being employed, offensive and defensive, against the enemy jets.
He then said, "What do you think?"

He then replied, "I'd be happy to let you test-drive a Wraith. As for bulk purchases, perhaps USD$175 million for a bulk purchase of a 100 units be good? That's half the cost of buying 100 all at once at the standard rate. And, we'll throw in the Wraith matenance training for free."

The crews were finishing matenance preparations, and quickly moved away when they saw Fujishima come with the Samurai. The pilot then walked up to them and shook their hands, saying, "Good day, I'm Lieutenant MacNamara, I'm the pilot of that machine there, but you'll be flying it today. Lemme tell you a few things."

Lt. MacNamara, who by now had gotten into the control tower, replied, "Roger, Samurai-Captain Isawa, you are cleared for takeoff."
The Wraith was then instructed to taxi forward into the launch area, whereupon the are would be depressurized and the airlock opened, and the Wraith let out. In the meantime, the area around it was cleared out, and the crews moved to the side.
Aiko taxied out on thrusters just as she had been taught in her flying lessons as a raw ensign and then hit the main drive once she was clear.
she put the Wraith through the same combat and evasive moves that a Tenchi shuttle would go through and found that the fighter was even better in those manoevers.
Still the test flight would continue for a while yet..

"i need to get changed first but i won't be long" Aiko replies and her guard goes with her.

Junichiro was impressed by the small size of the cruiser, and then went onboard, asking Aiko, "So, tell me, Samurai-Captain--what kind of ship is the Tengu, anyway?"
by now the Kirisuban executive officer had caught up with her Captain and they boarded the airlock together.
Aiko replies "its a Kurraka class cruiser 2nd edition, the backbone of the exploration and defence fleets. they're general purpose vessels which are just as suitable for war as for exploring. they may look small but they pack quite a lot of firepower for their size and they are very agile in a fight"
Female crew members are passing the little group in the narrow corridors as Aiko leads them to a turbolift which takes them to the round bridge. the all female crew are concentrating in their tasks and the young Lt Commander in the command chair nods to the Captain and XO.
Aiko swept into her ready room and offered Junichiro a seat and some green tea.

Aiko swept into her ready room and offered Junichiro a seat and some green tea.
Junichiro concealed his surprise and his amusement at the all-female bridge crew. So many ladies....he never saw this many ladies, even at the trade shows! He'd love to be posted to Kirisubo...but of course, a lot of them looked to be formal persons.
Dirty thoughts aside, he sat down, took his tea, and said, "I must say, it's a tight ship you run here."
Chigusa Miromuta departs to get changed and Aiko remains in the ready room with Junichiro.
"I'm not doing anything special on my ship. we are people of duty and once the work is done we unwind just like anyone else. thats why the mess hall and the gym are so important on the ship. We also like shore leave as well when we can get to a friendly port.
We were talking about trade and a NAP earlier on and since we're waiting on a reply from my government which may take a week to get here we might as well talk business.
what i propose is a free trade agreement between Neo-Kirisubo and your corporation combined with a NAP. after all isn't peace good for business?"

Junichiro leaned back, thought for a moment, and replied, "That's exactly what I was thinking. The Board will approve of that."
Aiko smiles and replies "then we should get on handsomely but it may be a while until we have much of a market but give us a year and our computing sector should be rebuilt.
We build computers and other electronic instruments and this is an example"
she lifts a hand scanner of the desk and shows it to Junichiro, the compact scanner folding out with the screen on one half of the 'L' and the touch sensitive control pad on the other.
"theres also a medical and scientific version and our medical equipment is quite advanced as well"

Junichiro then said, studying the hand scanner with intent, "Perhaps we could help you out. We can sell computers to you; perhaps we could acquire the licenses to those models and make them for your use, or simply sell you domestic models we have."
Aiko considers this idea and replies "perhaps you could build our scanners under licence and find buyers for them. its hard to get the proper equipment these days and buying a tried and trusted model is better than developing a version yourself. your own space fleet could even end up using them.
we also build our own ships weapons, hand weapons and still forge our katana's and wakizashi's in as close to the traditional style as much as possible although the forges are better nowadays.
our other bladed weapons are made from pattern replication and that is also a technology that you may not have. a pattern replicator can make anything from a pair of boots to a childs doll and before the disaster we had perfected a food replicator."

Junichiro nodded and replied, "I like the sound of the first idea. Perhaps we can license your scanner technology and the Corporate Alliance could mass manufacture it, but distribution would be part of a joint sales venture, beneficial to my employers and Neo Kirisubo."
He then grew excited at the last bit and said, "As for the idea of pattern replicators, I personally find that intriguing. Could you tell me more about them?"
"a lot about these is classified but they're part of the ships system. on a Kirisuban starship nothing goes to waste and bio-waste is processed into a substance we call bio-matter.
its the building blocks of matter replication and the applied use of energy and computers can change bio-matter into common material like plastic, faux leather, steel, clothing or other materials we would need to maintain the ship. we can also duplicate standard parts as well in a matter replicator but the process takes longer.
once an item is scanned the replicator remembers it and can duplicate as many copies as required. they are sometimes used as standalone systems as well."
Aiko sipped more tea and added "I can show you one in action if you like as well as getting you a memento of your visit"

Aiko sipped more tea and added "I can show you one in action if you like as well as getting you a memento of your visit"
His ears perking at the sound of a tour and free swag, Junichiro replied promptly, "Sure. That would be appreceated."
leaving her tea Aiko leads Junichiro out of the ready room into the turbolift and down into the corridors of E deck where the replication centre is.
in a small room is a woman sitting beside a desk working through replication requests on a laptop computer.
when she sees the Captain she gets up and bows and the two women talk in their native tongue briefly.
"Fujishima san, this large machine is the pattern replicator" the young woman says as she presses a few buttons to check the power settings and amount of bio-matter in the machine.
"I'll replicate you one off our short swords so you can see this in action" she adds saying "replicate one standard issue short sword with red and black binding and a red scabbard"
after a few seconds a scabbarded blade appears on top of the machine and the woman presents it to him.
"it will need polished but thats easily done and its quite a strong blade as well"
ooc: the blade looks like a ninja-to in shape and guard style only its a thicker single edged sword. the scabbard is made from thin metal and a plain dark red colour

Junichiro picked it up, and then took the sword out of its scabbard. He proceeded to examine it, tap it a little, and mumbled about how it resembled--nay, was the real thing. Stepping away from Aiko, he proceeded to swing it about in a fake swashbuckling style, twirled it, then sheathed it, saying, "Not bad. Not bad at all....you must show this to the Board, they will love it."
"i'm glad you like it" Aiko replies "and it thats only a fraction of what this can do.
I assume you don't have this technology?"

Junichiro replied, "No I am afraid we do not. We have very advanced processes, but nothing this high up on the technological scale."
"with a pattern replicator a starship can become mostly self sufficent." she replies "with technology like this you can have longer patrols although crews still need a break from time to time"

The idea of a truly mobile battleship came to him.....
...but until then, he shrugged his head, and said, "I'm in. If it is permitted, let me contact my superiors, they must know of this technology. I am sure we can negotiate favorable terms for licensing and acquisition."
"off course you can contact your superiors about this matter and we will be in your star system until we hear back from our government" Aiko replies.
"a lot can happen in a few days and there's still the rest of the ship to see"

Junichiro promptly contacted his superiors, and told them about the new technology. Excitedly, he mentioned about how it had produced a saber it would've taken weeks to make in a mere few minutes, nay, even seconds.
The others began buzzing about....after Junichiro explained the basic scientific principles, the Board asked for a demonstration. Junichiro replied to Aiko, "It seems to Board themselves want to have a look at the replicator in action? Mind if I record footage of it in action and send it to them?"
"sure" Aiko replied "if you have your device handy then now will be a good time"

Junichiro pointed to his communicator and said, "This thing's got a camera in it. I think we're good."
He pointed it at the replicator, and awaited the good stuff, pressing the buttons to begin recording...
the young woman consulted her computer and spoke into the replicator again.
"replicate one pair of ladies tall black boots, size 4" she says and the boots appear.
she takes them off the top of the replicator and puts them in paper bag ready for collection later on and 'ticks' the request of her list for the day.
"it is that simple" Aiko replies "and once you've scanned an item once it remembers it"

Junichiro finished recording, and promptly sent the video to the Board. Freddy Zhang-Sakura promptly told Junichiro, "Put me on speakerphone."
Junichiro then put the Boss on speakerphone, and Freddy Zhang-Sakura said, "How much to license the replicator technology?"
"Zhang-Sakura san this technology is part of my ship so we would have to send a spare matter replicator and bio-matter resequencher to you first." Aiko replied adding "I don't know how much to tell you just yet but i'm sure we could work out a deal that would give us a starbase and repair facilities in this system for 10 years. some ship building facilities would also be helpful here.
We will still need to sort out out the fine details but this can be a starting point"

Zhang-Sakura bit the bullet, his emotions were getting the best of him, but he'd be dead before he would let an opportunity like this slip by. Freddy promptly said, "Zhang-Sakura Union Aerospace can work with you for the Shipbuilding facility part, perhaps in a joint venture. As for the other clauses in exchange for the replicators, it's a deal!"
Aiko knew she had some of the things she wanted and replied "if you have an existing space station that would be helpful but we can built one with your help if their isn't one already there.
Once Fujishima san sees the biomatter resequencher which is the main aspect of the system I'll add the request for a spare matter replicator and bio-matter resequencher onto our message home. then you can use the one we give you to make more"

Fujishima then said, "Very well." He then turned to Aiko and said, "To the biomatter processor we must go, I suppose."
the next stop on the tour was the bio-matter resequencher room on E deck near engineering.
it was quite an unassuming room and quite small but the pipes which ran to the man sized seated vat in front of them showed there was more to this.
Aiko says "nothing goes to waste on a Kirisuban starship as I said earlier and all waste is recycled and ends up here being processed a bit at a time. the top of the vat holds the load to be processed, the middle section is where its broken down into its elements and the last section is where bio-matter blocks are produced."
she opens a hatch at the botttom of the machine and she takes out a one pound block of bio-matter to show Junichiro.
"these are the building blocks off a matter replicator and without these the system wouldn't function. a block of bio-matter could replicate a panel of plastic, a few pairs of boots or 3 swords"

He looked the whole machine over, and mumbled constantly about how fascinating and cool it was. He then turned to Aiko and said, "Mind if I tell the Boss about this too?"
"go ahead" Aiko replies.
Back on the bridge Samurai-Commander Chigusa Miromuta was back in her jacket and skirt uniform and holding the fort while her Captain talked business with Fujishima san.

Fujishima then explained everything about the system, whereupon Zhang-Sakura replied, "Excellent! Tell Isawa-dono I find the system as intriguing as you do, and am glad she is sending us a spare."
Fujishima nodded, and said to Isawa, "Samurai-Captain, the Boss wishes for me to inform you that he approves of the system, and is glad you are sending a spare for us to examine."
Aiko smiled and said "once a cargo ship gets here with the equipment and spares you'll be able to build one of your own"
the tour continues taking Junichiro to main engineering, the sickbay and ending up at the mess hall.
"now the tours out of the way do you fancy some dinner?" she asks
