Today, the Imperial Government announced the conclusion of a deal with Space Union Defense Industries [USE: SUDI], whereby the Government would sell 200 square kilometres of land to SUDI at a rate of $25,000 per square kilometre. Numerous Whyatican companies have been contracted by SUDI to build the plant, the largest share of the work going to the De'Luca And Sons Construction Company. The plant is expected to be completed in 13 months. The Imperial Parliament has also sponsored the construction of a development near the plant, tentatively called 'Thousand Mills'. De'Luca And Sons has been contracted to build 2,379 housing units, fifty 200 unit apartment buildings, a high school, and numerous retail establishments. This development, as well as the SUDI plant, is expected to bring thousands of jobs to Whyatica and stimulate the economy.
