The Republic of Aralonia Naval Defence Forces have retired their older DR-2 Pioneer scout aircraft, seeing as they do not have enough survivability and capability to escape from battle zones, as experienced in past conflicts within the Western Expanse.

In recent talks with the weapons firm ZMI, the AMDF has recently procured forty of ZMI's “Sky Manta” aerial drones for use aboard the newer “Duke of Saris” battleships, for the price of 15.6 billion Standard Dollars, or 44.24 million Aralonian Rubles. No word has been given by the government on why they have made this purchase in time of economic turmoil.

These aircraft have been reported as reliable and a great advance over the previous DR-2, and have been designated DR-5 in Aralonian service. Talks may be underway to procure more of these aircraft as Aralonia continues to computerize its military to avoid unnecessary casualties. The Archon himself has put this endeavor underway as the “09 Plan”, started last year. This “09 Plan” started with the construction of the “Prince of Aralonia” battleships, with the end highly classified.

After the establishment of an Aralonian colony in Haven two years ago, the Haven Aralonian subgovernment and the firm of Space Union Defence Industries (Union Stock Exchange: SUDI) have agreed to sell a plot of land 30km on a side, for a total of 900 square kilometers, for the price of 250,000 Universal Standard Dollars. This land will be given to a SUDI test aircraft field and production facility. Construction will begin in several days as Aralonian workers receive the blueprints for this new facility and as the construction equipment and facility equipment are shipped to Haven Aralonia.

SUDI has paid the State Construction Agency approximate 1.2 billion Universal Standard to construct this factory, which will be guarded 24/7 by the finest Aralonian forces in the area.

Construction of this new airfield and factory will provide a massive amounts of jobs and, due to the recent order from the Aralonian military for approximately 450 new aircraft, will expedite the delivery of the airframes, considering their destination is approximately two micrometers away. The purchase of these new aircraft is also a part of the “09 Plan” mentioned previously in this newspaper.
