OOC:

I have always tried to RP in a strictly MT era. However many more ‘exciting’ nations seem to RP in a sort of PMT to FT era around 2051 hence my need for new equipment. Preferable bidders would be recognised companies on NS, preferably with previous experience building aircraft. Bidding begins immediately and will last a day or two, or until a suitable contract is signed.

IC:

After years of clinging to its ageing fleet of pre 2000 fighter aircraft, the Googlewooper Air Force has finally had to admit that it has no choice but to look overseas for the supplier of a new multi-role fighter aircraft to build a new, modernised Air Force around.

As a result, today the Defence Secretary, Donald Ducksfelt, and Air Force Chief of Staff, Nicholas Wilkinson announced that the GAF would be accepting bids from overseas companies with previous military hardware experience to produce a prototype, original aircraft of the following specifications with the view to go into full scale production ready for entry into service in the next two years:

Classification: [company name] F/S-1G1
Role: Multi-role, Air Superiority and Strike/Interdiction
Production Cost: Irrelevant
Initial Prototypes: X-1A, General Performance Tests and X-1B, Weapons and Carrier Based Operations Tests

General Specifications (Approximations)

Maximum Speed: Mach 3
Service Ceiling: 15 000m
Combat Radius: 1 000km unassisted with a view to facilitate external tanks and mid-flight refuelling
Armament: Medium to Long Range Air-to-Air Missiles, Air-to-Surface Missiles, Bombs; Free Fall and Guided, Air Launched Cruise Missiles and Anti-Shipping Missiles, all of the highest quality.
Special Feature: Possible VTOL/STOVL, Possible Semi-stealth Capabilities

Potential bidders are invited to contact Donald Ducksfelt, care of the Defence Ministry, Googleopolis, Googlewoop. Successful applicants will be invited to send a delegation to Googleopolis to discuss contract terms after which point the project will require complete secrecy through the development stages.
