Ask for the Bright One (Arms/Military deals)

Halgolth Tekken'arret was almost sorry he hadn't stayed for teh revolution. He was busy making all sorts of contacts in this new world that he was in. These humans were an interesting bunch. They were constantluy fighting each other, befriending each other, trading with each other, and just in general killing everything they saw, as Humans usually did.

As Drow did, as well, for that matter.

Halgolth hadn't met a single one of his contacts, save for a few locals. He was able to acquire some more weapons from the local arms dealer, Blaine, who was slowly getting his stock back. Halgolth smiled, knowing that soon that this whole town would be under the extreme influence of the Drow. He eagerly awaited for its sky to disappear and become blanketed in eternal darkness, as this sunlight and artificial light was truely bothering his sensitive skin and eyes, so he had his room blocked off from the sun.

He was able to reach out to many of the human nations, many very large and with huge, experienced militaries. He had been hired to have the Drow armies trained and armed, so he 'told' the innkeeper to show people to his room if they said "I'm looking for the Bright One." Halgolth awaited for his message to bear teh fruits of his labor, which usually involved bribing and extortion.

OOC: Hey, Green Sun, I have the old Red Tidean Dictatorship reinstalled now. So here goes nothing!

IC: The Tech-Com Corporation representative walked with his Tech-Com Security Mercernaries down the streets. He was here because he was contacted by a race known as 'Drow'. It was an... interesting race that lived in the nation of Gologk, in a lawless area known as the Waterfront. So here he was, waiting patiently to meet a representative of the Drow. He had already sent notice ahead of the meeting in a letter to a one... ah yes, a Mr. Halgolth Tekken'arret, the letter said:

"Dear Mr. Tekken'arret

We are interested in conducting buisness with your race, we have a wide vareity of weapons and we are sure that you have a large knowledge of possible underground resources that are essential for our nations economy. Therefore, we are sending a representative to meet with you at [insert place here] at [insert time here].

Signed, Tech-Com Corporation International Potential Markets Department

PS: Forgive us if our representative has trouble pronouncing your name, our nation has not had recent contact with drows before, so we are unfamiliar with your language."

((Just so you know, the only message he's sent out is that they're looking for arms and military deals. He hasn't released his name or race. Not something you'd want public until we start conquering.))
A reply was sent rather quickly.
"Come at night. Come alone. Come with a shotgun. Someone took mine and hasn't given it back."

Several men entered the inn. They were wearing heavy boots, cheap suits covered by gray trench coats, with bland ties over their white shirts, with fedoras over their head. Some smoked. One wearing mirrored sunglasses walked up to the innkeeper, and spoke slowly, but deliberately. "I am looking for the bright one."

"Only one of you. The others can stay outside."
The innkeeper led them to a room on the first floor. The woman was let into a room with the windows boarded up and the lightbuld was on, but dimmed to the point she couldn't see the features of the dark figure sitting at a desk.
"I don't like the light. None of us do. I can tolerate it more than my bretheren. Or sisters, whichever formality you wish, Human or Drow."
The light grew brighter, but not much, and the black skinned, blue-eyed, white-haired Drow Elf appeared.

OOC: Sorry about the GS, lets pretend the letter was never sent.

IC:A man entered the Inn soon after the Siapan man entered the backroom. He wore a buisness suit and carried two briefcases.

"I am looking for the Bright one..." Then, noting the bodygaurd looking men, he continued, "I presume I will have to wait."

"I would like to make a deal with you." He pulled out a cigarrette. "Let me know if the smoke bothers you." He mumbled almost inaudibly as he lit it. "Anyway, my employer tells me you need guns. Outside, down the street a bit is a sedan. Hidden inside of it are twenty MP-9 machine pistols." He dropped car keys on the desk. "They are yours, free of charge. My employer hopes this will make our business transactions easier." He took a long drag on the cigarrette. "My employer is very interested in your organization, and would like to see how effective your organization is. He owns some docks in Siap. These docks are profitable assets. The cargo that goes through there is very private and valuable, and thus, it needs protection. I hear that your type are fierce fighters. I can offer jobs to thirty five of those you feel are most qualified. The work will be at night, when the real threat comes out. Housing, sustenance and ample pay will be provided. All thats asked is that my employers assets be defended without question of the nature of the cargo. If your men prove to be loyal and effective, we can supply you with all the guns you will ever need."

He blew out some more smoke. "I must also inform you that my employer produces certain 'goods', and he would like to test your market. If you approve, and we are able to sell our 'product', then you will receive an appropriate percentage of the revenue. Do you these offers sound good?"

In the foyer of the inn, the men in trench coats glanced at the newcomer with the briefcases. One that was standing up asked humbly, "Pardon my asking, but would you care to tell me what establishment you represent?"

"Yes, among other things, such as energy and automobile production, to name a few. We're a 'Jack of All Trades' Corporation who has invested slightly more in weapons production then the other areas." The man said.

"If you are speaking of drugs, I assure you, what we use is far more powerful than anything a humans can handle. In fact, I have a few of them now. the smoke is lethal to humans, you know. But only humans, and Goblins, but they're lethally allergic to everything, especially a good hit across teh head," Halgolth said, "And I am grateful for you offer and yes, we are very fierce fighters, but we're used to the sword and the shadows. I can't take you up on your offer. My people are too inexperienced with the gun to be reliable gaurds. Unless, of course you're looking for people to disappear. In that case I could suggest my own organization. Just tell us how much you're paying and we'll ask you how many pieces you want them in, and in what condition. In the meantime, I'm looking to buy guns. These...Machine Pistols, as you call them, will make a healthy addition. The Queen is looking to start a standing army, and these would make excellent weapons for the commanders."
'Anyways, down to business. I'm not only looking for guns. We need people to train our warriors with them, but as you're a small, private organization, I doubt you could teach us modern tactics, unless you so happen to be connected to one of your nation's generals or something."

"I should inform you that I attained the rank of lietenant before departing the Siapian military. I have experience with all sorts of weaponry, including those machine pistols outside. My employers recruit their men from the Siapian military. My boss was a captain. But, if you are not satisfied with what my organization can offer you, we do have contacts in the Siapian Intelligence Network. The men and women in that organization are possibly the strongest, smartest and all around best fighter Siap has to offer. My employer is close personal friends with a high ranking commander in that organization. If you do not trust the training we can offer, he will instruct you in the proper usage of guns, as well as Siapian martial arts (Vardschirm). We will be able to train and supply your men with weapons, but we will need your help in resolving certain matters."

"If your organization feels that they can train thousands of Drow without ending up shot or disappearing, I'm ready to discuss such a deal, but it seems I have other porposals waiting. Shall we invite them in? I would liek to compare the deals...How you say, side by side."

"Fine. I want two hundred thousand AK-101s and M16s, the best you can offer me and enough ammo for each gun to last a war, plus extra ammunition for the machine pistols, unless the Red Tideans can make a better offer. I'll want two hundred trainers to teach our people for four months. They will receive their pay in our city and that is where they will stay. I can assure their safety. That much is garunteed. If you can't match my demand I'll take what you have at a slashed price. Send in the next dealer."

IC:

"Siap rarely manufactures Kalashnikov series rifles, and the M-series rifles are falling out of favor." He puffed on his cigarrette. "We can supply you with 200,000 H&K G36 rifles and 200,000 Steyr AUGs. We can get you these weapons at a discount, where you would only pay $2000 for each AUG and $1000 for each G36, as well as enough ammo to last a medium sized conflict. We can also arrange Operational Detatchment Alpha to come and train your men for a cost of $7,000 a month plus expenses." He pinched the lit end of his cigarrette with his flame-retardant gloves. "The weapons prices are significantly reduced and the alphas would usually have nothing to do with your kind. We will enable you to get these weapons and this training for the stated prices, but you will have to repay us. My employer has many enemies, and many of them are very powerful. When the time comes, he will need your help in resolving some matter. I do not know when he will need this help, but when he does need help, he will call on you. This is my final offer."

IC:

"Its good doing business with you. Please wire the money to this account." He placed acard with an account number embossed on it. "If you do not have the banking infrastructure, we also can accept prescious metals. Once you have your men assembled, we will have the alphas sent here immed iately, or we can take them to Siap and train them there. Be aware, though, that the Siapian people are notoriously free-spirited, and as such, the trainers are expected to break such spirit, but in the process they often break more than the spirit." He tilted his head sideways, making a distinct cracking sound. "You must understand that the Operational Detatchments are the best of the Siapian military, and are, quite arguably, second to only the epsilons, who are on standby for deployment. As such, their training is brutal, and men have been known to receive permanent injuries, and in some cases, fatal ones, during their training. Also, insubordination is never tolerated. A fraction of your men may return unable to walk, or see, or they may return in pine boxes, but those that don't will be some of the best soldiers you could ever ask for."

"Sounds better than the treatment we recieve as children," Halgolth said, "The Queen and the Matron Mothers will expect the trainers on time. You will find that most of our soldiers are more than capable at hand-to-hand and close combat, but it is modern weaponry that is what we need training for."
