Declaration of Independence

We the People of the State of Georgia, in dissatisfaction of the rulership from Washington by a Central Government intent upon strangling freedom of enterprise, freedom of Christianity and freedom of wealth, do hereby declare our independence from the United States of America and establish ourselves as the founding state of the Commonwealth of New Confederate States. A Constitution shall be written to legitimate the rights and laws of the Commonwealth government and its citizens, and a Bill of Rights enacted to protect those worthy of citizenship.

The CNCS (Commonwealth of New Confederate States) opens itself to sovereign recognition and diplomatic relations with other states in the world, seeking to establish an international foothold within the community of nations we so rightly deserve to belong within.

Commonwealth Government Statement

President Washington has today declared the creation of a National Assembly, a unicarmel political body elected by the people of the New Confederate States to represent citizens within the government. Political parties and Candidates are required to register with the newly-established Political Bureau in Atlanta, Georgia before beginning campaigning. Elections for the National Assembly shall be held in two months time.

As a small nation ourselves we feel that it is essential for small like-minded nations to bond together in both trade and political outlook to ensure their survival in this most hostile of worlds.

I believe, as Herald of the Kingdom, that we should at the very least establish trade protocols and relations between our two countries to enable us to prosper economically. Further perhaps the establishment of small diplomatic missions would also help to bring us closer together.

Your Highness,

As Provisional Minister for Foreign Affairs, I welcome this oppurtunity on behalf of my government to establish diplomatic relations with your Kingdom. We would like to offer the idea of an exchange of diplomatic embassies and representatives, along with establishing a Free Trade Area between our two countries involving the removal of trade tarrifs, thus better serving for international business between our two countries.

Although unknown at the time due to Atlanta's complete grip on civilian broadcasting, widespread examples of intimidation and voting fraud were reported by citizens to the jokingly-named 'People's Concern Department' inside the Political Burea. Registration of political parties and candidates gave the Jethro Washington administration complete access to the names, addresses and allegiances of those who stood in opposition. Disturbances of opposition political rallies and intimidation of candidates was commonplace, along with the arrest of several more successful party leaders as the elections grew nearer. The results of elections for the 1st National Assembly of the Commonwealth of New Confederate States are as follows:

The Confederate Party (Jethro Washington Ldr.) - 150
The Democratic Party of the NCS (Peter Tull Ldr.) - 10
The Communist Party of the NCS (Jeremy Bull Ldr.) - 9
The Republican Party of the NCS (Donald Gem Ldr.) - 11
The National Socialist Party (Greg Wolfwitz Ldr.) - 20
Total Number of Seats in the National Assembly - 200


The elections of the National Assembly therefore bring Jethro Washington to officially be the 1st President of the Commonwealth of New Confederate States. The Cabinet of the President has been announced as follows:

The National Assembly shall be held within the newly constructed National Assembly Building in Atlanta, Georgia, whilst the Cabinet of the President shall meet in the newly constructed 'Confederate House' also in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Cabinet shall immediately begin developing a Constitution and a Bill of Rights for the scrutiny and vote of the National Assembly.

We welcome Lord Hargorth as the Dommuninuis Ambassador to the Commonwealth, and will shortly dispatch Dr. Helen Hawthorne and a diplomatic team as the Commonwealth's Ambassador to the Court of King Robert of the Kingdom of Dommuninuis. Hopefully, as New Liberated Ireland stated, slavery will not be an issue. It would be unnerving to see a slave state in this modern world, especially within the West.

We do absolutely recognize your right to secede from the United States, and are even interested in opening diplomatic relations when possible.

The Commonwealth is interested in opening diplomatic relations with the Empire of Piemonte-Sardegna, possibly in the vein of exchanging embassies and diplomatic ambassadors between our two states.
