No more than could a pebble turn back the tide

"Hmm?" The archeaologist picked up the object he had just recovered. "That's odd. Looks somewhat Egyptian."

"What's that, Dave?" Asked a studen, walking over. "Oh, yeah. Look like what's his face with the dog."

"It's a jackal, and the name's Anubis. This really is odd..."

OOC: Anu...oops. I got my Egyptian mythology messed up. Anubis was the jackal and Apophis was the snake. Um, whatever. Sure. It's the Mask of Anubis.

IC: Lord Necromancer walked through the snowy courtyard with his two most trusted servants, the general Prinn and the concubine Fromaa. Three black dots on a wide white plain.

Lord Necromancer had come here every day for months now, ever since his defeat of his brother Pluto. From him he had taken the Twin Rings of Pluto, and begun his collection. It was stored in this fortress along with his own most prized posession, the Amulet of Necros.

The three of them walked through a large, black doorway into a small room in the fortress. In the back of the room was a glass case containing the Rings of Pluto and the Amulet of Necros.

Two parts(unless you counted the Rings of Pluto as separate) of a six(or seven) piece set, each entrusted to a member of the Necros family and each intimatly bonded with each other. Lord Necromancer had come to this place so frequently to feel the link between the different artifacts, hoping that he could locate one of them.

He pressed a number code into the electric lock on the glass case, and it opened. He gently stroked one of the rings and waited. In two moments he whispered under his breath, "Yes." Then louder, "YES!"

The Mask of Anubis had been returned to the surface, in a country called Jea-Jeo, and these Artifacts were eager to find their brother.

"Master?" asked Formaa, "Is something the matter."

"No," he responded estatically, maniacly, "No, this is a good thing. Prinn! Send a message to the government of Jea-Jeo.

To whom in Jea-Jeo it may concern:

It has come to my attention that archaeologists have, in your nation, uncovered a certain item known to my people as the Mask of Anubis. It is simply a large, fully head-covering mask resembling the head of a jackal. This Mask of Anubis is rather important to me, and I would like to have it back.

If you will not give it back, my followers would be more than willing to take it from you by whatever means neccesary.

Sincerly

To Lord Necromancer

With all due respect, we haven't the faintest idea what you are talking about.

"That was odd," said the President. "Say, Johnny, have we got any archeological digs going on?"

"Hold on, sir," replied the president's aide. He typed a few keys on a computer, clicked the mouse, and then typed a few more.

"Yessir. But they're out in the desert, and they're out of contact."

"Get a man over there now. I want to know what they found.

"Yessir."

Brother, have you lost something?

Cowardly fool. Why do you not face me in person, rather than using these damn machines?

Because I found it. Just thought you would like to know.

What are you talking about? What have you found?

Just a funny little hat.

You have my mask? Give it back to me, now!

I did not say I have your mask, brother. Only that I have found it.

I am not your brother. And you are not a god.

Perhaps I shall keep it. Yes, I will go take it. And I will keep it.

Tell me where my Mask is.

Or what? I have already killed you once, remember? Hmm, once I have wiped out the human race and established a Necros state, what shall I call it. "New Zombie Alliance" simply will not do. What would you think of "Lordnecromanceria?

You are insane.

And you are old fashioned. It is amazing the technology the mortals of today have come up with. Just the possibility of this conversaion, for example. Oh, and artificial sattelites. Thanks to them, I know just which island twenty miles off the coast of Somolia you are on.

OOC: Lord Necromancer is never actually going to get all the pieces to the superweapon, by the way.

OOC: 47? Incidentally, I can't do much at the moment, although you should know I have a surprise in store.

OOC: Someone else already have the e-mail address "Anubis." So Anubis had to settle for "Anubis47." That's right. Ancient Egyptian death gods on the web.

OOC: And while we're waiting for Jea-Jeo's "suprise," let's all sing the Bump Song!

O how I love to bump a thread
so that people will join it
and not a sucky one instead!
and if you think it's rude to bump,
I'll bash you in the head!
