The warriors of House Melith blended in well with the rushing commoners in Drow Road. Many were armed with the new weapons bought from Blaine. Hatchavin Melith was the one who had retrieved the man for his House to make the deal, and he was quite happy with the M-16 he had picked out. It was easy to figure out how the ammunition clips worked, and he had several of them attatched to his belt. He and his squad emerged from teh road and crept their way towards the massive structure that created House Orlytyl. It was also called the Great Commons and was ruled by thieves and rogues more than its Matron Mother. Commoner Drow who had no House to call their own (And there were a great deal of them) ame here and found shelter. Soon, a few Rogue priestesses had established their power, creating House Orlytyl. Despite their numerical advantage, Orlytyl was not known for its fighters and only its numbers, and most of the peasant Drow elves would not care if Melith took over. But unknown to the rest of the city, Melith had recruited an ally: House Arkenep. Arkenep and Orlytyl had been at odds for some time now, and with House Melith making this purchase, it was the perfect oppertunity for them to strike...And a perfect oppertunity for Melith to destroy its two greatest rivals in a single night.

The fight started with the slaves warriors charging the Commons gate. While the masses were beginning get slaughtered at the hands of the Drow gaurds, snipers silenced the battlefield, killing the armored figures in a few shots. This frightened the slaves, as well, but that did not matter to the Drow. Their commanders ordered them to bash in teh gates, and once the chaos among the slaves was regained, the gates soon fell to the Bugbears and orcs. Drow on the other side once again began to slaughter the slaves. A few more shots rang out as these drow were gunned down by submachine guns and handguns. Enemy reinforcements arrived only to see their comrades get shot and, seeing the power of these weapons, fled, only to become victims of undead warriors, raised by Arkenep wizards. The fight was short and brutal, and each of the Orlytyl Nobles were slaughtered. Their Matron, however, was spared for political reasons. The Arkenep Nobles at the battle didn't really know why, but went along with it. But while they were beginning to make plans to split the Orlytyl warriors and peasants between the Houses, they, too, became victims of the new weapons.

And only a hundred total Drow casualties.

Hatchavin Melith and his group of warriorswere silent as any Drow could be. Only their spare ammo clips flapped against their hips as they made their way into House Arkenep. One gaurd spotted them, but a single round from Hatchavin's M-16 placed a bullet in his gut. Most of the Arkenep nobles were at the battle and were slaughtered by Melith gunners, but they weren't necessarily here to kill the Arkenep nobles. They needed at least one of them alive. Shynqualyn, the Matron of Arkenep, was at the top, much like Hatchavin's mother at Malith's fortress. Since many of their warriors and wizards were fighting Orlytyl, it was rather easy to reach their destination. A small firefight took out the Matron's personal gaurds and two of her daughters and her Patron, who was also the Archmage of the city.
"What is this treachery?" Shynqualyn screamed after the remaining three daughters laid down their weapons.
"It's quite easy, see," Hatchavin said, "We're now better armed and we've gotten Orlytyl out of the way. Taht much is simple Drow politics, you understand."
He smiled.
"But now it gets complex. We've a new world out there to strike fear into at the might of the Drow. These weapons are used all over this world, and we've taken over Orlytyl in just a few minutes. And here, we've killed what, five of your warriors and nobles?"
Shynqualyn did not like being spoken to in that manner by a male, but kept attentive nonetheless.
"So, instead of killing all of the Nobles and becoming the juggernaut of the city, my Matron has something bigger in mind."
Shyqualyn's eyes widened as Hatchavin raised a .45 at her.
"And while it doesn't require the slaughter of all the nobles, in your case it does require your death.
A very loud bang ended the Matron's life and he tuned to the others.
"Now that they're dead, who's next in line?"
One of the terrified nobles stepped foreward. She was young, but that's what they wanted.
"Good. Now, come with us, my Matron wants to have a word with you."

"Lloth no longer reaches us," Vasryn told the other two Matrons, "And neither does Shar. Our Goddesses are no longer with us, and there is no longer need to aim for her pleasure."
The other two Matrons looked at Vasryn with expressions of disgust.
"And if we find a way back to our own Plane of existence, we will return more powerful than ever. And we will return-United as a single House, no, a Queendom!. Sch'Naggio, the Queendom of the Drow!"
"And you, I presume, will be the queen?" Alyae, the Arkenep Matron spat.
"Yes. Yes, I will. But that matters little. You two will be the Queen Sisters and when I am gone, Jhaelaste," she said, motioning to the Orlytyl Matron, "As you are a century younger than I. And then you, Alyae, will replace her."
Vasryn's oldest daughter, T'rissual, made a face of disgust at this notion. Vasryn took note and said,
"The Drow will not accept a Queen who was never a Matron Mother. Personally, T'rissual, I would love to have these two killed and have you as my heir, but there is nothing I can do for that."
She turned back to the other Matrons.
"We no longer have to serve our Goddesses. We are Drow, and now we can serve none but the Drow!" she shouted, "And if you agree, you will join the Court of Sch'Naggio, my sisters! Join me, and together, we shall rule this world as we were destined to do in the Old!" Vasryn held out her two hands, bloodied from being pricked, to the other two Matrons. Alyae used a dagger to prick her hands and placed her palm on Vasryn's, holding her other hand out to Jhaelaste. Jhaelaste hesitated and pricked her hands, as well, and then placed her own palm on the other Matrons'.
"And so begins a new era for the Drow!" Vasryn exclaimed.
--*--*--
Alyae's hands were still bloody from the joining. She was now more than a Matron, she was a Matron Princess. Because the Clerics had lost their magical powers, Alyae had no way of healing her hands with spells, so she had them wrapped and was to let them heal naturally.
"Alyae!" a male shouted out. She turned to see Hatchavin running to her, his .45 that he used to kill her mother with still at his side.
"What do you want?" she asked him with a nasty look.
"It's less about me and more about you."
Alyae thought for a second and looked at him with an impatient glance.
"My Matron Mo-I mean, the Matron Queen is having extensive paperwork written to have this all recorded. She's thought this through since she learned about the gun. I'm one of the people writing it. I can get you to have control over both Arkenep and Melith."
"I'm listening."
"Each Matron will keep their control over their respective house. We've made it clear that rank is no longer an issue, and that each Matron has equal power in the Court. Which means you will have control over everything that goes on in Arkenep."
"Go on."
"But I can write it that the Matron Queen only has power over the city in general; she has no power over her original House. Now, who would be the next in line for the House?"
"Her eldest Priestess Daughter," Alyae guessed.
"Right. But not many people know this, but I'm a member of an organization in the city that's trying to expand Male rights in Drow society. Don't give me that look, I'm not trying to turn us into a Kingdom. But before the title of First Son was just a formality and meant nothing, but under this constitution, I can make it so that if the First Son of a house is the legal Patron of another house, the Matron of the other house has authority over both. And trust me, I don't want T'rissal becoming the Matron Mother of my House."
"And you're the First Son of Melith, I presume?"
He smiled.
"Of course! Do you really think that if I weren't the First Son and I was doing this on the behalf of my older brother? I worked hard to be First Son!"
Alyae shot him a glance. His smile got wider.
"Just don't turn us all into a human-like bureaucracy."

Instead of celebrations and cheers from the other houses, there was a revolt, as expected. The lesser Houses called for arms to be taken against the new system and to what many saw as treason to their Goddesses, who had smiled or frowned apon them for centuries, but only among the higher Priestess and Wizarding classes. Many Warriors, especially amongst the Males, didn't care much, and so many of teh revolting houses were without their warriors. When the abttle was met, the wizards and priestesses were slaughtered by a firing line. The gunfire could be heard in the town, and overwhealmed many of the sounds of the Waterfront. This attracted many onlookers, curious at these new weapons, especially amongst the Dueregar dwarves, who often built weapons for the Drow. The Matron Queen appeared before the onlookers to the slaughter and announced a new age, an empire for the Drow. She announced that any Matron Mothers refusing to accept the new rule would be shot and replaced, and should their daughters refuse, they, too, would be replaced, which was the case of many of the Houses as Matron Mothers who refused to acept the new rule were killed as only Drow could do it. The daughters, in turn, tried to rebel, but to make things simpler the First Son was captured and forced to sign the Patron papers in order to make nobles of other supporting houses rule over the rebels. The revolution was short and bloody, lasting only a few weeks. But compared to other Drow civil wars, this wasn't as bloody, with only Nobles beign targeted.

But soon the Queendom was faced with a new problem: They were runnign dangerously low on ammunition and they weren't trained with the new weaponry. Some had gained enough experience to use them quite well, while others were simply given a handgun and told to shoot at the armed charging Drow. The Queen has thought ahead, however, and is looking to employ one of the Human armies to train the Drow in this matter.

And teh Dueregar have returned with good news: They have found a new metal unlike anything they've ever seen. While it isn't as strong as Mithril, they could very well weapons and armor from it. They had no idea that these mountains were filled with Uranium, but as all species native to the Underdark were constantly exposed to the radiations of their native lands, the Dueregar and others exposed to it would have no idea the true radioactive power of the metal until they became exposed to the endless amounts of information presented to them in this new world.
