Kim looked out the window as the city of Zagreb came into view. It had been years since he had visited and lived in Europe. Now, it all seemed too foreign to him. The buildings were too chic and did not suit his tastes; they boasted too much while they hid the truths of society, that there was the underprivileged folk who suffered at the hands of merciless dictators.

Of course, Korea had been like that before - under the reign of the Choseon kings, the ruthless Japanese, and now divided between two different states. The DPRK was the supposed inheritor to the grand paradise, but the imperialist Americans didn't want communism and violently opposed it. They made war on Korea and forced the division (ooc: I know my Korean history well enough to know that the previous statements are mostly lies).

After suffering under the insane minds of two corrupted officials, Kim wanted to change Korea to follow the ideals of Juche and communism as it should be, not what benefited him the most. In fact, it was this very attitude that upset his father - "Juche is what Korea can do best to serve me!" Kim Jong-il would say whenever they had arguments. It was suspected that Kim Jong-chul would eventually disappear from the family line, but everyone knew that he was much smarter than his brother, the recently deceased Kim Jong-woon. Perhaps his intelligence saved him whereas it managed to kill most others who possessed the very same trait.

Communism in ideal is not oppressive - he kept reminding himself. Yet he had to rule with an iron fist, not to sway the Korean people, but to maintain a failing state system. He had only begun to release the more moderate and cooperative prisoners that his fathers had stolen from Korea; he began to return people to their proper homelands after decades of foreign abductions; he even started to warm ties with the USA, although 2011 virtually saw all support for that idea dwindle to practically nothing. To some extent, the Juche theory was being revised to allow a more reasonable approach to communism, something on the lines of China's model - although Juche could never copy China's model anyway.

Nonetheless, what he had done in the past 6 years of his reign has been remarkable - the scientists are more innovative; the students are more cooperative (albeit still rowdy at times, needing to be reminded where they stand in society); the people were much happier and the harvests were becoming more fruitful again, especially after his desires to retain Korea's sovereignty in food production. He began remodeling the army to make it more effective, although he found funds hard to come by.

That was part of his reason for the venture to UNBS - to find some business partners. And what a better comrade than a communist? True, they were a different brand, and perhaps not even communist at all - but what mattered was the general idea of brotherhood there. Yet, the question still lingered - Friend or Foe? Could he trust good business with the UNBS? After all, they are a new state, and perhaps supported secretly by the USA. But what were the chances that an imperialistic puppet would targeted by its master? Not very likely...

Still, he would have rather gone to Panama, where the Revolution needed better support. He has tried to do as much as he can, going to the extreme measure to offer UN residency to their delegation. But at this point, it didn't seem like that there was much that the DPRK could do to offer help, short of sending weapons and arms involuntarily . Regardless, when he received this invitation, he couldn't resist the offer. He told his secretary - Comrade Oh Sung-nam - "I need a plane and fast!" Two hours later, she arranged the whole trip through the Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.

He woke from whatever daydream he had, as the plane began its final descent to the runway. He fastened his belt over an old chair, as the Nyongbyon scientists rested themselves in his "private" quarters - if there could ever be anything like that in a communist society. The guards - armed with Type 68 pistols hidden under their brown overcoats - around him likewise fastened their belts and made ready the crew for touchdown. "For the Revolution..."

The whole city was alive. The Red Army and Red Airforce were getting the preparations ready, and the parade ground was having a few last minute cleanups. Many citizens were a bit suspicious. If the National Bolshevist ideal was beyond left and right, why was North korea here? Most citizens, despite the state propaganda, still believed the DPRK was run in the old fashion: dictatorship, starvation, communism, and poverty. Each citizen thanked God they lived in the "best place on Earth."

Police were everywhere today, ensuring capitalist tourists were almost exiled to the Dalmatian coast. No foreingers were permitted to the parade ground, and the rule was almost brutally enforced. Still, most streets were empty, almost all of the city's inhabitants crowding around the parade ground.

Elsewhere, the Korean plane was tracked from liftoff, shadowed carefully by high altitude spy planes. They kept a huge distance between the plane and themselves, hoping to avoid detection. Even if they were detected, there was no need to fear...the hammer and sickle was painted on their sides.

"Plane coming in Comrade."
"Understood. Prepare landing."

A crowd of nearly 2,000 waited. Made up of governmental members and military men, they kept quiet until touchdown. A signal was given, and the Red Army band and choir began their song. (http://download.sovmusic.ru/m32/spogran.mp3) The lyrics were blunt: Revolution, war, and other such things. The interesting thing was how loud it was. Hidden speakers made the music seem like it was coming from everywhere, and was loud enough to feel the vibration of the bass.

Lieutenant Zofia (http://www.cnc-source.com/content/ra2/chars/zofia.jpg), former anchorwomen of the National News, and newly elected Commissar of Foreign Affairs, waited to greet the Chairman. The uniform, the only latex one in the army, was freshly pressed, and adonered with medals for fine broadcasting.

She stood outside, waiting for the North Koreans to exit.

(ooc: hammer and sickle is Russian - most Asian communist states use the star)

Kim stepped off the plane and was somewhat surprised at the reception he received there. There was a mass of people cheering and yelling various things, but he couldn't understand any of it. He looked out and waved his hand, feigning a smile. He slowly stepped down and looked to his reception entourage - Comrade Lieutenant Zofia. She was a stunning lady, wearing her uniform tightly but professionally. She was smiling back, but Kim could tell that there was a little insincerity in it - and more than likely, she could see his as well. They were both anxious, as it was, this being the first meeting ever between any Korean leader and a Croatian leader (if it now existed, as the NB policy promoted the end to ethnic divides). And it was a historic meeting for Kim Jong-chul, his first ever with a non-Asian man/woman.

Comrade Zofia extended her hand and welcomed the Chairman. They both kept it brief and headed into an armored car, which had an open roof so they could proceed down the parade grounds for the reception. In march behind the leading motorcade was the Red Army, professionally drilled and likewise flawless as they stepped out. It brought up memories of the May Day parades in Pyongyang, except in a different city and different people. There was no great Triumphant Arch, under which the loyal People's Army passed. There was no Juche Tower, which would provide the ultimate back-drop for the troops. It was different, and Kim could appreciate the difference enough to enjoy it all, waving his hands to cheering/yelling/something-involving-very-loud-noise making crowds.

It was a clear sunny day in Zagreb, and the weather favored it all. Kim could sense that the parade would be a beautiful start to a great beginning.

IC:
After the initial cheering the entire parade ground fell silent. The parade ground was crowded, nearly a million people had shown up. But where was the Premier? The entire crowd seemed anxious. The Red Army stood stiff. The planes waited to take off. And then he came.

A helicopter swooped in, and from a parachute emerged Premier Rjos. The corwd went wild, chanting his name and waving the red, white, and black flags. He took off his equipment, smiled, and joined the Chairmen. They had a box, situated only 10 feet above street level, and when inside, he spoke to the Chairman.

"Halo moj Koreja prijatelj." A translator emerged from nowhere, wearing a rather large smile. "Comrde Premier Rjos welcomes you. Please, enjoy the parade." The Premier stood up, gave a signal, and the parade began.

(Basic Atmosphere, including song, location, and cheering, of the parade (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF1LvSlx6MM))

While the anthem was drawn out into a full 2 hours, new modified T-90's and T-80's rolled across the street. The new artillery pieces followed, with the middle being occupied by a full battalion of troops in the new Future Force Warrior system. The boots of the infantry clicked with each connection with the ground, and their legs swung as one. It was the Russian march, that was clear, but still....it was good.

Towards the end of the parade, VTOL fighters, still in development fly dangerously close to the nearby builidngs, pulling off all sort of complicated maunevors. Helicopters flew in formation, and fake tracer rounds were shot everywhere.

As the parade ended, the Premier stood up and gave a speech, which the translator summed up for the Chairmen. "Its nothing out of the ordinary. Imperialists, Revolution and...." the translator paused, his eyes glazing over. "A...future war?" The speech ended quickly, and the Premier led the Chairmen to the Commissar Chambers, the whitehouse of the UNBS. The Chairmen was led to a comfy room, decorated with Nationalistic posters and paintings. The Premier spoke through his translator.

"He has told me to translate exactly. He says: Where do we begin Comrade?"

Kim looked to the Premier and smiled politely. "It is the custom of the host to set the agenda in Korea; but I think that we both can agree that the reason why we are here is nuclear weapons. We have them; you want them. I think we can arrange something simple and fair."

With that said, the Nyongbyon scientists approached, one of them carrying a thick suitcase. They unlocked the case and revealed scientific data sheets and records. They detailed Korea's progress throughout the entire nuclear development scheme. It revealed their early endeavors to generate enough plutonium through civilian reactors. After they scrapped that idea, they turned the more profitable uranium enrichment processes, which could churn out weapons-grade uranium and depleted uranium for conventional arms. It was all a wondrous source of information, but it said nothing about bombs.

"What about your nuclear stockpile?" Rjos asked.

"We have enough," Kim replied. "Back in 2005, we produced our first set. By 2010, we had roughly 50 sets. Our processes have become highly efficient, and our modes for transportation have improved along with them." The scientists, having finished their explanations, had closed the briefcase and stood aside. Then two guards entered the room with an even larger suitcase. They carefully opened it and revealed a small vial of dense metal. The scientists handled the material very carefully as they removed it and showed it to the UNBS officials. They put a Geiger counter next to it, and the machine went haywire with clicks everywhere and off the scale. Rjos could only guess what that was.

"This is enriched uranium-235, about 90% pure," the lead scientist said. "It's only half critical mass, so it's pretty safe to contain in a practical measure, but it will be necessary to take phosphorus before being exposed to the whole matter. We brought a small sample to show you what we have, so you can know that your business is legitimate."

"I can see," Rjos said. Kim continued to smile. "We also have depleted uranium available, but my comrades tell me that this is better than that. So I will trust their judgment. So, you see, you can have double the business with us, because we can give nuclear weapons and we can give you the best conventional ammunition booster available. Besides that, Korea's missile program is among the best in the world. Pakistan and Iran were once very satisfied customers, dealing with our program, so I can trust that you will too."

With that, the scientists returned the vial of U-235, and the guards took away all of the briefcases. Kim sat back down and let Rjos soak in the potential opportunities that he had in front of him. All the while, the translator was gasping, hoping that he had translated the scientific information accurately and quickly.

They remind me of gypsy dealers. Show you their trinketsw, while they take your wallet. "The UNBS would be very interested in missles and this...enriched Uranium. Such weapons would allow us to easily engulf the rest of the Balkans, and bring an end to Serbia." The Premier couldn't hide his contempt for the serbs.

"Now, the next question is quite simple: What is the cost? As much as I would like to believe you wish only to further the UNBS cause, I am to much of a realist to believe it. So, is it money you are after? Perhaps we can exchange this nuclear information with information on Thermite? We lead the world in production and technology regarding the substance. Did you know it burns hotter then molten lava? The Abrams can be destroyed with one shell! It melts through armour, hits the engine and BOOM!" He stood up and gesticulated the noise with his hands. Calming back down, he took his seat once more.

"As soon as the matter of payment can be settled, perhaps then we can discuss other issues."

Kim seemed interested in Thermite.

"You think that we are here to capitalize on your interests - but we are not like the reckless imperialists. We do not make deals for the preservation of our own self-intererst, but rather for the good of the Glorious Revolution. Nonetheless, we are willing to sell the information for a reasonable sum. Or perhaps as you said, an exchange of technology information - on this Thermite.

"If you have the details, we would like to see what Thermite can offer us."

Rjos smiled, and pulled a picture (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/2b/Utah-thermite.jpg/756px-Utah-thermite.jpg) out of his jacket. He handed it to the Chairman with a smile. "A thermite reaction is a type of aluminothermic reaction in which aluminium metal is oxidized by the oxide of another metal, most commonly iron oxide. The name thermite is also used to refer to a mixture of two such chemicals. The products are aluminium oxide, free elemental iron, and a large amount of heat. The reactants are commonly powdered and mixed with a binder to keep the material solid and prevent separation. I hope I am not speaking to fast?"

Regardless, he went on.

"Thermite grenades are used as incendiary devices to quickly destroy items or equipment when there is imminent danger of them being used by enemy forces. Because of the difficulty in igniting standard iron-thermite, plus the fact that it burns with practically no flame and has a small radius of action, standard thermite is rarely used on its own as an incendiary composition. It is more usually employed with other ingredients added to enhance its incendiary effects. Thermate-TH3 is a mixture of thermite and pyrotechnic additives which have been found to be superior to standard thermite for incendiary purposes. Its composition by weight is generally thermite 68.7%, barium nitrate 29.0%, sulphur 2.0% and binder 0.3%. Addition of barium nitrate to thermite increases its thermal effect, creates flame in burning and significantly reduces the ignition temperature. Although the primary purpose of Thermate-TH3 is as an incendiary, it will also weld metal surfaces together."

"Thermite enables infantry to permanently disable artillery pieces without the use of explosive charges and therefore operate with a reasonable amount of stealth. There are two methods of disabling an artillery piece with thermite and both require that the barrel be elevated to a high angle. The best method is to open the breech of the weapon, insert an armed thermite grenade and then quickly close the breech. The molten thermite permanently welds the breech of the artillery piece shut, making it impossible to open and load the weapon. An alternative method is to insert an armed thermite grenade down the muzzle of the artillery piece, thereby allowing molten steel to weld itself to the inside of the rifled barrel. A partial barrel obstruction makes it impossible to fire the artillery piece without the barrel bursting."

"We however, have perfected it into a weapon. A shell with a Thermate-TH3 warhead can be fired from a tank. The warhead, on contact, alerts a electrical device, similar in effect to a common sparkler, to ignite the mix. These reach the necessary temperatures and provide a sufficient amount of time before the burning point reaches the sample.. The shell does not explode, and the reaction allows the thermite to melt through the tanks armour....or anything else inside. If fired at the front of the tank, or if it burns to the fuel tanks, the engine explodes."

"Truly a powerful weapon."

Kim looked at it, and was impresse somewhat. He would have rather had a live demonstration, but since he could reciprocate the same for his hosts, he thought it better not to ask. Besides, they had other details to iron out.

"Well, we have discussed the business part of our venture - the part that I sometimes loathe. Now we can get to the more substantive material, namely the imperialist swine of the United States.

"It has been our history that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has peacefully coexisted with her neighbors, despite the clamor and reactionery actions by the Americans. There was once a time when peace with America could be conceived. However, their reckless actions in 2011 proved their true nature was to subvert the world to their liking, and I cannot make the Korean people slaves to an American Empire. I came here principally because I heard the people's voice crying against the oppression of imperialists from America, who recently upgraded their puppets in Serbia.

"It is against Juche ideology to spawn alliances - they are too imperialistic in nature, as is proved by the United States' NATO Alliance. They attempted a similar sort in Asia, but the will of the people was not blinded and they trashed that as soon as they conceived it. Asia is mostly free from America, although the imperialists in Japan are no better - but Europe, this is the home of many Americans. They will not give up so easily. The Revolution needs many allies here, and we can only willingly oblige to assist by other conventional means without banding into some alliance of sorts."

Kim then paused. He stood up and paced about. "What do you think about our Panamian comrades?"
The Horde Of Doom
23-07-2006, 20:23
"The Panamanians...." Rjos paused, and looked into the Chairmans eyes. "They are key. Intelligence has reported America will tolerate the Panamanian taxes on the canal for so long. Remember Noriega? Imagine that, but with Panama becoming a new state!"

"They are key, and I have already signed a law to provide for their defence. I suggest you do the same. No alliance, but a promise that any military action against Panama will not be tolerated."

"Switching topics a bit, I can assure Europe shall free herself. Serbia will fall, in due time. Now, I'm focusing on bringing Bulgaria and Austria into the Union. Bulgaria will fall eaisly. We have been training revolutionaries since the NBP-Bulgaria was formed, and I can assure you, it will be a swift coup. Austria...will be another matter. The Austrian front is still in planning."

"The age of modern war, you see, is over. Wars will no longer be fought between states...but withen them. In this way.." He clenched his fist. "the Union shall spread a red menace across Europe!"

"Everyone's going to be free....but they have to agree to be free." He looked again at the Chairman. "Weapons, give us more weapons, but send the majority to Panama. In that way you can help us. Be our mouth, eyes, and ears in the UN. We may not have an alliance, but perhaps we have something greater. You, the face of our little axis. Panama, ensuring dominance over maritime trade in that region, and the UNBS.....could become the Taliban of the organization."

"Your rhetoric is somewhat reactionary," Kim noted. "The Revolution is not menace but a liberation of the the oppressed proletariat by the imperialistic bouregoise. But nonetheless, your brand or communism is probably leagues better than the expansionists in Washington. We can provide support, to whatever means that we can offer."

He sat back down, ready to go on with the discussions.

"Our Panamian comrades are noble warriors, who uphold the ideals of the Revolution in their very state," Kim replied. "It is without a doubt that Panama shall become a vital asset to the Glorious Revolution, which shall see the end of the United States of America - and ultimately capitalism and imperialism. We so value their support that we have offered them residency with our UN delegation, so that the imperialist nations may still hear the cries of the oppressed and somehow change their futile ways with the least cost of blood. But let us make no mistake - imperialism has corrupted the West, and it needs to purged. States like Panama embrace the Revolution and their example serves as encouragement to us, while bearing witness to the Western oppressors."

"Oh, is it?" Kim looked to his guards, who whispered some things to his ear. "Ah, it seems that I'm going to miss the fireworks show if I stay any longer. And I certainly hope that we have not detained you from any other serious matters. Perhaps we can conclude our technologies trade at a more convenient and less pressing time? After all, we still have to decide the best mode of transporting materials and potential drafts for construction and mobilization plans." The guard again whispered in his ear. Kim then stood up and bowed slightly, a courtesy that he had adopted against his father's wishes - who prefered a simple handshake. Indeed, a bow was too servile for an elected leader of the masses. Nonetheless, it was only slight and he continued speaking - "I must leave now, Comrade Premier. It was a pleasure to meet you. I am confident that we can escort our own company to the airport, as it would a burden perhaps to your troops. We wish you the best of luck in dealing with the vile imperialists, and we will see what can be done in regards to our role."

With that, he and his crew left.
