The Return of the Zealots

The Zealots were a Jewish class who wanted the Romans out of Palestine, only to lose and see the Temple destroyed. After some time, a group or more of Zealots with women and children fled to a land they called Masadania, after Masada, which fell in 70 AD.

They adopted Judaism as the offical state religion, their languages as offical. They settled in Masadania, building a nation for themselves. They would not be known of, till the actions of foreign travelers.

The Masadanians were split between Pharisaic and Saduccee Jews, as well as Essenes and Zealots, in terms of how the Jewish faith was practised. Shammaites (named after Shammai, an opponent of Hillel, a well known Judaic scholar) are also around.

When Europeans found Masadania, they saw the Great Synagogue, the center of coronations and religious needs for the leaders. Masadania was an absolute monarchy and still is today.

The Great Synagogue was built by the Masadanians in 1676 and is where coronations take place and where royals go for services and festivals.

Christianity is the second largest religion, after the only offical one, Judaism. Christians have been tolerated by Masadanians. In fact, one ruler of Masadania is said to have been married to a Christian.

Masadanians speak languages from the time of Bar Kokhba and before him. They are mainly Jews with some Christians.

More later..when I get some more stuff to continue with.

Rather good, though the only thing missing I think is what happened during the Crusades. Did they ally with the Crusaders or fight them? Were they conquered by the Muslims at any time?
