As several of our neighboring nations have expressed concerns about our growing Strategic Deterrent Force (SDF), we are happy to provide our friends and allies with all requested information about this Force, it's purposes, and it's composition. We would like to preface this writing with the repetition of the old statement: Allanea is not a warmongering nation.We are a peaceful nation, and we do not wish for war. But we are a strong nation, and if war does take place, we will fight it with all the ferocity of the wolverine, the determination of a mother bear defending her young, and the bravery that can only be displayed by a sapient fighting for liberty.
Before you set to reading this press release, we would like to have a word of warning to you, about the definitions below. As you will see, some of the nuclear weapons listed will be designated as 'strategic', and some as 'tactical'. This designation is not influenced directly by the yield of the weapon, as in most foreign armies, but rather by it's intended use. As such, the 'Emperor Paisley the First' Tactical Nuclear Bunker Buster Munition has a yield of 68 megatons, and yet is a tactical nuclear weapon in the classification of Allanean military, as we have the intent of using it primarily in tactical situations, for example for dealing with submarine pens and various underground palaces and command centers. On the contrary, while our Minuteman III ICBM bears only ten 200 kiloton wareheads, it is designated a 'Strategic' weapon by our military, because it's basic intended use, as of all Allanean ICBMs, is in the strategic deterrent role.
With this caveat in mind, we hope that you will enjoy reading this document, and becoming aware of the fact that somewhere out there, Allanena ICBM control crews are guarding the peace in the world. We would also hope it helps you sleep better.
Strategic Weaponry
Elenaran Mephet'ran H-ICBM: First and foremost in the Allanean strategic arsenal are the Elenaran Mephet'ran series Heavy InterContinental Ballistic Missiles. Each of them is a modified Space Union Defense Industries Black Knights loadbearing rocket, carrying 1,000 M-77 warheads to target. While the H-ICBM has it's problems (for example, it cannot be silo launched), these are compensated by the immense power of the missile – assuming a maximum yield of 1.5 megatons ber warheads, we're talking about 1.5 gigatons yield per each of these rockets, of which Allanea currently possesses a full 300. While the location of the actual launch sites is currently classified, we are able to tell you that they are spread between Roanoke Island, Allanea's North Haven states, our Greater Prussian Bay states, and the Midlands.
Minuteman III ICBM: This classic weapon is still the backbone of the Allanean Strategic Deterrent Force. Around 6,000 of them are currently commissioned, each carrying ten 200 kiloton warheads, or 2 megatons of total yield. We are able to note the following: 1,000 of these rockets are located in launch sites near Port-Allanea (North Haven), 3,000 at Fort-Roanoke, Fort-Bliss and Fort-New-Ark (at Roanoke Island), and 2,000 at launch locations in our Midlands states).
Emperor Napoleon IV Assault Sattelite: These orbital assault platforms, primarily strategic defense sattelites, carry each a cargo of what used to be 10 ordinary IRBM's with a yield of 1 megaton each. However, these IRBM's are now capable of striking at an angle of 90 degrees to the surface, eliminating range concerns (as anybody knows, a non-geostationary sattelite will eventually pass over any point on the Earth except the poles). These sattelites also serve a secondary role as ABM sattelites, as the nuclear missiles can detonate among a group of incoming ICBM's and thus destroying them with their EMP and radiation pulse. Allanea possesses a thousand of these sattelites. Look up with a telescope, and you could even see one on a good day.
Thomas Jefferson Submarine Launched Cruise Missile: This is an imporved Allanean variant on the Soviet Sampson missile. It weighs at appoximately 1.7 tons, and carries either a 200-kiloton nuclear weapon, or an conventional explosive charge approximately equivalent in power to 500 kilograms of TNT. The United States of Allanea maintains approximately 6,000 of these cruise missiles, 2,000 of which are aboard patrolling submarines at any given time. It is important to point out that like the original Sampson missile, the Thomas Jefferson can fly as low as 200 meters above sea-level, preventing interception by concentional ABM means. Unlike the Sampson, however, it is equipped with passive and active stealth features, which reduces chances of interception by aircraft.
Evil Seed Deterrent Stockpile:
The nuclear portion of the Evil Seed Deterrent Stockpile (ESDS) consists of a variety of nuclear strategic yield weapons – strategic in their future application, rather then their yield. The main weapons of the ESDS are as follows:
1.Hell's Fury – the Mk-77 warhead, now repackaged in a 500-kilogram weight, 1.5 megaton strategic nuclear bomb designed to be dropped from aircraft. The Allanean air force is in possession of approximately 10,000 such devices, deployed in strategic stockpiles all over the United States. The purpose of their existence, as of the other ESDS weapons, is to be dropped out in large quantities over enemy territory, in order to incur long-term environmental, economic, and demographic damage, and ultimately to render the territory uninhabitable. An Ank'riat strategic bomber is capable of carrying 400 Hell's Fury bombs to target, for a full yield of 600 megatons.
2.Serpent Poison – a bomb only 250 kilograms in weight, this has a yield of only 10 kilotons. Some would ask why the Allanean military would bother including something so minor in the Evil Seed stockpile. The answer is simple. These are cobalt nuclear bombs, able of causing what amounts to a long-term ecological disaster in the zone of deployment – i.e., that the area is not habitable for at least a few centuries. The United States possesses approximately 2,000 of these bombs, for a total yield of 20 megatons. In theory, we would only need 2 Ank'riat strategic bombers to carry them all to target.
However, the ESDS is not, and has never been, confined to nuclear weaponry alone. As such, the Allanean military is proud to present the chemical and biological portion of our deterrent stockpiles:
3.Devil's Medicine – this is a simple container, weighing at a single ton, carrying a yield of sarin gas in binary state, which will be mixed only before the bomb is loaded onto the aircraft. It also contains an explosive charge whose main purpose is to spread the poison munition, as to cover as much area as possible with the poison. The Allanean Air Force maintains a stockpile of 50,000 Devil's Medicine munitions.
4.Agent Pink – this is a container similar to the one above, however it contains a substance similar in action to that of the Knootian 'Gay Spray' nonlethal chemical munition. It is basically a gas version of the Dual Purpose Aphrodisiac recreational pill, and affects both sexes, essentially causing 'uncontrollable sexual arousal states.'. You may guess what happens when 4large quantities of these are dropped upon a dense enemy population or a concentration of enemy forces. The Allanean Armed Forces are in possession of 100,000 containers of Agent Pink.
5.Satan's Fertilizer – this a modern rendition of the venerable Agent Orange defoliants. The United States maintains a variety of containers with this chemical, however, the ESDS mainly deals with 1-ton containers of Satan's Fertilizer, of which Allanea has 200,000, which is more then enough for any pesky jungle.
This is the current summary of the United States Strategic Weapons Stockpile. We would like to note that the combined yield of our strategic nuclear weaponry is only 488,220 megatons, much less then, for example, that of Questers or Juumanistra.
Tactical Weaponry
While the Allanean strategic arsenal is cause for understandable foreign concern, we would like to give some space in this press release to our tactical WMD stockpile, lest we are accused for 'downrating' our power by intentionally omitting some devices by reclassifying them as 'tactical'. As such, the below may be of interest.
Emperor Paisley Mk I Tactical Bunker Buster – by far the most famous of Allanean tactical munitions, the TBB is a modified 'Tsar Bomba' design. However, the main difference is that it is designed to have a downwards-focused fusion explosion – as such, it is designed to pierce deep-underground bunkers, storage centers, underground military bases and 'palaces', as well as missile silos and submarine pens. Because the actual need for such a device is limited, the Allanean Armed Forces currently have only 100 TBB's in their possession.
Nuclear shells: tactical nuclear artillery shells are avalable for all US(Allanea) artillery, starting with the 140mm tank cannon, and including MRLS rockets. It varies in power from 0.1 kiloton in the HD-666 tank shell and up to 1 megaton in 30-inch artillery shells used on ships such as the Hood and Feathermore class superdreadnaughts. It would require a separate treatise to go into all the types, subtypes, and designations, but suffice it to say that absolutely any Allanean artillery piece down to and including the 120mm light mortar could be used to deploy some form of nuclear weapon.
Nuclear Air Defenses: – the United States maintains a variety of nuclear air-to-air, and ground-to-air missiles. The purpose of these devices is primarily to take out large swarms of enemy aircraft and cruise missiles, as well as terminal-stage ICBMs, however in extremis they could be deployed against executive aircraft belonging to foreign nations, for the purpose of semi-covert assassination of foreign executive personnel.
Nuclear Depth Charges: – Allanea also maintains a variety of nuclear depth charges, as alternative to traditional depth charge weapons. They are deployable via ordinary depth charge devices, except armed with a nuclear warhead yielding anywhere between one and 100 kilotons TNT equivalent.
Nuclear bombs:
Obviously, Allanea also maintains a variety of nuclear air-drop munitions other then the Emperor Paisley Mark I.. The important ones are described below.
WA-57 – this is the basic Allanean tactical nuclear bomb. It weighs 250 kilograms, and has a variable yield from 10 to 25 kilotons. It has been used in the Kahanistan-Kraven conflict, where four of these nuclear devices have been dropped upon a fleet of Kravenite rubber boat crews. No Kravenite lived. Allanea has a total of 10,000 WA-57 bombs at it's disposal at any time.
WA-60 High-Altitude Munition – this device is a heavy bomb, weighing approximately 2.5 tons. If carried by a fighter-bomber, it is usually the only bomb carried. The WA-60 is designed to be dropped from a high altitude, at least of 10,000 meters. When dropping, it is broken apart, and it's contents, namely up to 40 0.1 kiloton 'mini-nukes' are then deployed. It has been described by the Allanean military to be 'just the thing for invading armored columns', but to date, none had been deployed. Apparently, 2,000 WA-60 bombs exist in storage.
Conclusion
As seen above, obviously the United States of Allanea has, while not the most impressive stockpile out there, certainly has sufficient arms to deter rogue nations and adversaries such as the Kraven states from, to quote President Alexander Kazansky, 'messing with us'.
