Governor Ed Ballard arrives, and takes his seat.

"So, Governor Lanzen, what's on your mind, exactly? You know, I'm a busy man."

"As am I...", he says. "With great displeasure, I have noted Texas's threats, Nebraska's warmongering, and Massechusitts launching motiveless attacks against Connetticut. I sent some of Ohio's navy to explore the Mississippi, and you sent troops against me. Now my sources think you are attempting to take this very city by force. Why do you need all this? Eventually you will get in large wars, and your people will be very displeased. Do you think they actually care about you taking over Nashville?. Either way, I called this summit to discuss the privatization of the Mississippi River. Obviously with government control people will just get angry, but with privatization we would just have to pay some small fees at the mouth, like the Souz or Panama Canals. Your thoughts on the matter?"

"You best shut your mouth before you piss me off, Governor," spouted Ballard as he sat up in his seat. "I don't know where you get your information from, but it sucks. First of all, the Confederacy of Mississippi is making absolutely no moves against Nashville, so I suggest you go back to your intel agency, if you even have one, and tell them to get their crap straight. You accuse me of something like that again, and you may need a crutch to get out of here." Ballard wiped his hands as he sat back in his seat once again. How dare some yankee call a conference with him only to blast him with accusations. "For your information, Governor, I never sent my armed forces against your ships. The Mississippi's free to roam. I got no problems with that. We simply sent a few troops to Vicksburg in case your men tried anything funny. Don't try and call me on basic national defense. We're simply trying to protect ourselves. Maybe you're just paranoid. Anyway, on the subject, to whom would you be paying fees to?"

NOTE: We really aren't going into Nashville.
