Hohenzollern Island
17-07-2006, 05:50
Germans and/or Prussians found the nation we know as Hohenzollern Island (named after the Dynasty of Germany). They settled the land, made German the offical language, Catholicism the offical religion (later it would share this title with Protestantism), and they made it led by a King. The King's Throne has been only for males until now.
Today, the 14 year old Queen, Queen Juliet (Juliet became a name in the nation after the spread of Shakespeare) is the ruler of the nation, helped by her advisors, including Karl Baumer, the advisor of her father, King Joseph.
The islanders speak German, and are mainly Catholics. They are led by an absolute monarchy. God Save The King/Queen is the national anthem. Queen Juliet lives in Wilhelmsburg Fortress.
Queen Juliet's mother, Queen Sophie is still alive, though her father is gone. The Cherry Mount Academy is known as the Academy of Royals, where Royal children go for education. Queen Juliet went there and was educated there.
Karl Baumer was the advisor of King Joseph, and witnessed Juliet's baptism, many Royals were baptised. Although Prussia was a Protestant land, it was Catholics who founded this nation.
German not Latin is used as the liturgical language. Catholicism and Protestantism are the main religions, though Catholicism is the head one. The Cathedral of the Crucifixion is the main cathedral, for the Royal Family. It is in New Berlin (Capital of the nation).
Karl Baumer's brother, Erich Baumer is a Cardinal in the nation, the spiritual advisor of the Royal Family. The Royal Cardinal is also with the Royal Clergy, those who officate Masses for Royal Family members on Sundays.
Some Kings were Protestant, some Catholic. Protestantism and Catholicism are state faiths, no violence has really tooken place between them. Queen Juliet is a Catholic herself, baptised in the Church.
Queen Juliet is only 14 but she is the Queen. Will she have a good reign? We will see. So far, she has had a ok one.
