Governor Ballard sat at his desk. Things were going rather well since the Union collapsed, and for the most part, things were in order. For the moment, though, Alabama and Georgia were in what he considered ruin. However, before any of the Confederacy's troops could even think of making a move, he had to make arrangements; the arrangements only a politician could manage. He reached to the phone and punched several numbers in. He would need Florida's help if he hoped for much of anything, and an alliance would need to be in order, lest they consider any movements to the east a threat.

"Uh yes, would Governor Baker happen to be in this morning?" Ballard began as he spoke with the secretary.

After a government is settled in Austin, the President is thinking of expnading and making new friends. He sends messages to the Governors of Oklahoma, Louisana, and New Mexico about joining the new fledgling nation. It says that we would like your state to take into concideration joining The Republic of Texas.
A message is also sent to former Mississippi and Florida about diplomatic relations. It states that the Republic of Texas shows no aggression towards your nation in any ways. We wish to expand our friends during these testing times. We hope you will respond to this message.

Gov. Romney seconds this. Massachusetts continues to be a center of liberal thought, and to the people of Massachusetts, news of the anarcho-capitalist-dictatorial amalgam being made is appealing to a few, but offensive to the rest.

And, well, seeing that Alabama and Georgia aren't exactly doing too great, we here in Mississippi are preparing for an offensive over the border and into Alabama. They called to tell us that their councils have decided to pass the bill proclaiming the addition of their states into the Republic of Texas. We also recieved word from the New Mexico Governor he said that New Mexico would like to remain a free state for now, but in a few months the council will reconsider the offer and vote once more.
The armed forces of both states are kept in their respected states under the direct control of the Defense Secretary in Austin. The Governors of both states will remain Governors of their states and keep the states organized and in control.

OOC: I know I never said this but I will now. There will be NO NPCs unless we really need them. The only way to get more territory is pure conquest. Here's where NPCs come in. When you are attacking a state, someone will have to play that state. Also, if you are conquering only part of a state, try doing it by county. I'm looking for a county map to help you with that. Looking up counties isn't hard just type in any town into wikipedia and it should give you the county its in. Go to the county's article and you should get to the others somehow. Also, you should know at least most of your state's counties unless it has 1500 like Texas...(they don't actually have that much, but a lot).

Governor Ed Ballard walked into the great hall of the Memphis Legislature building. He made a quick turn, into a much smaller room, which was to be the point for talks between Ohio and himself. What would happen? He didn't know, much less did he care. He knew what his state was doing, and as far as he was concerned, any other state could whine and complain all they wanted. Ballard took his seat and awaited his opponent.
