I recently thought of this idea for an RP. The United States has broken up. You pick a state and RP it. We make war, economic unions, alliances, become rogue "states", etc. It will be modern tech and around the year 2008. You can choose whatever type of government you want. Republic, dictatorship, democracy, etc. You don't have to say how you got to that. We won't really have a set timescale. Any of the 50 states and Puerot Rico is available, and Guam I guess. As soon as we have a few states, we can start. The majority of people dislike the former "Union" and don't like the idea of a return to it. There isn't really a need for a storyline...this is more like those Earth things.

RULES:
1. Follow Official and Unofficial NS Rules (duh)
2. No godmodding.
3. No NPCs except to play a state being attacked.
4. The rest of the world doesn't really exist. We're isolationist. ;)
5. To obtain more territory, you MUST get it through pure conquest. That means no confederations, agreements to unite, etc.
6. No nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons permitted, for now. This may change in the future.
More may come as I think of it.

I looked too, and couldn't find em. I just made a good guess based on equipment I've seen on various bases and stuff I've been at/past.


Anyone with Kentucky would get a bonus for having Armor (Fort Knox, thats where the Tanks are!) And the 5th Special forces are based at Fort Cambell there

Georgia (Fort Benning) has infantry (and DELTA FORCE :eek: )

Florida holds SOCOM (Special Operations Command) and several major airforce bases and Nuclear launch facilities :eek:

Fort Bragg South Carolina has the 3rd Special Forces Group

The Floridian National Guard has about 15-20,000 members

New York has about 50-60,000

New Jersey in your case would have around 50-60,000 as well. It would be a good guess at least. Divide that among Army National Guard and Air National Guard.


New Jersey doesn't have a Special Forces unit either, so either you make one, or you don't have one ;)


all National Guard units have different specialties. Meaning, each city has a purpose. New York City's National Guard is Infantry, while some rural town may be logistics or Combat Engineering.

We're sort of basing this only on numbers. After that you can make up your own about tanks and stuff. This is only based on real-world stuff. Not using real world stuff much.

Most RPs collapse before they get off the ground. Within a week, I doubt half the RPs he's in will be active.

yes, but this is about the United States. I don't think that the Fallschrimjäger belong in the US. Unless referring to the 82nd Airborne in German....but that's different.

This RP is only based on some real-life stats. It's just to have fun with your own state.

I do hope that those states with massive militaries are taking into consideration that their own state is responsible for all their training and whatnot. I believe it was Michigan I saw that had nearly 10% of its population in the military. If we're playing this realistically, those troops would be more like militia. Training and equipping isn't something that you can just shake a stick at and it magically happens.

Funfact: Global Security actually has national guard stats, so that might be helpful as well to plan things. I know I used them, though for a navy, i just RPed requisitioning Coasties as a makeshift navy.

But yeah, you do have a point. My military is ony 10,000 men, less active, with a big but unorganized reserve-though I'm thinking of insituting draft/national service...

I have the second largest guard, but thats all GlobalSecurity says

MS has the largest per capita, but not by numbers, etc.

You can write OOC in IC if it's a comment about unrealisticness or something, but keep it to a minimum. This is for OOC planning and sign-up, etc...
