WWII Alternate History

Note-I play as a European nation, Germany but I have changed the history.
Operation Market Garden was a success, as the Allies attacked Germany from the Low Countries. By 1944, the German capital of Berlin was seized by the Allies of the West, Russia only getting through to Poland. Hitler disappeared when the Western Allies entered Berlin.
The Allies placed Karl Donitz as ''Temporary Leader of Germany'', however, they saw a goodness in Donitz, so they placed him permanently in power. The Germans were now led by the Admiral who began democracy, making himself and the National Party as the heads.
The Germans were undivided, not into West and East Germany. They were one nation in 1944. American forces in Europe, some did see action against Japan.
Donitz abandoned Nazism and began reforms in Germany. Only Germany and Austria were under his control. He had ok relations with the Soviets, who could, if able, possibly take Berlin.
The German Wehrmacht did retain several experienced officers. After Donitz' passing, the National Party continued rule until the Nationalist Party was elected, the Nationalists made German Nationalism the state ideology.
The Germans in 1990 possessed a great nation, one of the world's best. The Nationalists had the Patriotic Militia, ''dedicated to the preservation of the German State'', separate from the Military.
Now, in Germany, in 2006, how will the German nation go on?

On the Operation that secured early victory, though failed in real life.
