The Pacfic Island of Mahrankala Island

Mahrankala Island
15-07-2006, 03:29
Mahrankala Island is led by a Great Chief. The island's people do practice child marriage somewhat, one example is when a European girl at 13 married the son of Great Chief Yiran who was 15. Paganism, Animism, Shamanism and Christianity form the religions of the nation.

About child marriage once more, it is said that child marriage here may be similar to the form in places like India. It is also said that the current Great Chief may wish to marry off his 13 year old daughter.

Some liked this nation because of the stocks of beautiful girls it possesses. The Council of Elders elects a Great Chief to rule the people. There may be a festival called the Festival of Beauty in which sometimes a Great Chief may choose a wife, the one wife system is used.

Prostitution is a neutral issue here. How will Mahrankala Island's people continue in the 21st Century? Note-Some stuff here may be changed later.

Re: Diplomatic Envoy

We thank you for allowing us to send a representative of Saint Fedski to Mahrankala Island. As a sign of good will the Security Council of the Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has approved a motion to take some of your citizens under its wing and train them along side soldiers of the Commonwealth, perhaps even fight along side them in the future. We can accept up to a division of ten thousand soldiers and a couple hundred armoured vehicles into our training program for the time being. And if you feel you need additional protection while your forces are out of the nation, two Commonwealth Divisions, as well as any number of aircraft can be deployed on Mahrankala Island for the duration of the training.

The Commonwealth of Saint Fedski has a massive arms manufacturing industry that can develop and produce a huge variety of weapons and weapons platforms, albeit for a slight cost. If the Council of Elders is ever in the mood for urainium, Saint Fedski is the place to come. Our mountains and quarries are full valuable minerals such as uranium, gold, silver, and nickel.

You are welcome. We accept you taking some of our soldiers, etc under your wing for training. We also accept your protection of Mahrankala Island. We can, if you wish to, organize a meeting for diplomacy. How much would the produce of arms, etc from your nation be? Also, we will think on the issue of St. Fedski's natural resources.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Meeting

I can personally attend a meeting in M.I if you so desire. The Ministry of Defence has advised me that there are large stockpiles of old-Soviet era weaponry available for no cost. We also have numerous recently upgrade F-16 fighters being phased out of regular service. Our former staple aircraft, the F-5 Tiger III has also been withdrawn from frontline service. These systems can be provided to M.I for little to no cost.

If they are a little dated for your needs, we have our brand new CF-17 fighters entering service. Sunlight Inc, the national arms manufacturer, has a catalogue available of everything it can produce. It's products range from all kinds of aircraft, to armoured and unarmoured vehicles, to individual weapons for soldiers.

I look forward to meeting with you,

We would like it if you could attend a meeting. The Great Chief will be arranging a time to meet you, when you arrive in M.I. Large stockpiles of Soviet weaponry? That could be useful to us, we make use of modern weapons, but some have old WWII Japanese weapons.

F-16s and F-Tiger III's could be acceptable to us. Sunlight Inc's weapons and systems could be acceptable to us as well. Please arrive when you can.

We welcome you to M.I.

Robynne leaves her apartment and enters the awaiting car, which rushes her to the airport.

On board the plane she is joined by Sunlight Inc. CEO, Sarah Ledgerwood who is reviewing the catalogue.

"Good morning Madam" Sarah says as Robynne boards the plane.

"Good morning to you too Sarah." She replies. "Are you ready?"

"Sure am. I hear the islands are a nice place at this time of year. I also look forward to making new business partnerships and thus expanding my company."

"Well we are bringing with us a couple thousand newer AKs, some RPGs, and being shipped over will be something along the lines of 250 Leopard 1 tanks. Some of the old Tiger planes are onboard the ships as well."

"About time we got rid of those things."

"Weren't they just phased out recently?"

"Yes, but we've been using 'em in every possible way for the past thirty or forty years."

"The very same ones?"

"No, each plane had a ten year life before it was scrapped, these ones are only two years old. What else do you have in store for them?"

"Well, we are bringing an entire division over there while they send one to Saint Fedski to train. I think Air Chief Marshall Brideau will be sending a small amount of aircraft over as added protection."

"Sounds like we're invading them. I mean sending fifteen thousand soldiers and nearly five hundred tank is probably more than they can handle." Sarah's tone suddenly changed "We're not invading them are we?"

"Oh no, gosh no. We are merely preparing them for modern warfare. We hope we can gain a valuable ally in the future should we ever need one. We also need to exploit their need for raw materials and such, you know the drill."

"Ah yes, do I ever. Do you mind if I get some sleep before we get there? I'm kind of tired."

"Not at all, in fact, I may even take a bit of a nap."

Within minutes they both dozed off. They still had a couple hours of flight time left until they reached M.I.

Great Chief Vega had himself and his family dress up in formal attire for the occasion. The Great Chief told his family about the arrival of the St. Fedski envoy and some of his younger children were a bit excited of the envoy's coming to Mahrankala Island.

The Chief's Guards stood by their Chief, as they had since the beginning of M.I, we suppose.

When the envoy came, citizens looked at them in the city of Varasda. A man dressed in full robes came to the envoy and bowed respectfully. ''I am the envoy of M.I. Please follow me.'' He escorted them to the Great Chief's Palace and some of the younger kids, not able to hold it in, began running at the St. Fedski envoy, talking, playing and hugging them.

The Great Chief could be seen from his place. ''Welcome to our humble island!'' Vega said.

ooc: haha yes, I was fixing up my military stats.

IC: Robynne and Sarah emerged from the aircraft into the bright sunlight.

"Wow" Sarah exclaimed "Where are we? On the sun? I heard it was sunny, but I didn't expect this."

"Neither did I" Robynne added.

The M.I envoy emerged out of the light. "Come with me please" he spoke after he bowed and shook theirs hands. The two women bowed as well.

As they walked to the palace, they were mobbed by children. This was a new feeling for them usually they were hassled, and heckled and harassed by children from developing nations and from protesters in developed ones. Their bodyguards really didn't know what to do, so they dished out pens, and chocolate bars. The expensive watches, sunglasses and hats were the favourites.

They approached the Great Palace at a snail's pace, a crowd had gathered trying to get a glimpse of the strange foreigners.

"This must be the first time they've seen people from such a developed country." Robynne whispered to Sarah.

"I've been been in such a situation in all my travels" Sarah whispered back.

The Great Palace, and Chief Vega stood before them, dressed in his nicest robes. The two women, and their bodyguards bowed in his presence.

"Welcome to our humble island" he said with a smile.

"Thank you for having us." Madam Robynne Hay replied.

That is ok. Also, M.I is developed! The kids are just excited, I guess.

The children enjoyed the pens and chocolate. The Great Chief smiled as he watched, he was a family man himself. The kids soon sat down somewhere and played and watched as the Great Chief looked at the envoy.

''It is no problem.'' The Great Chief said. His ministers bowed respectfully to the envoy. ''Sorry if the kids were a hassle, they wanted to meet you alot, I guess.''

The man who escorted them said ''You may begin our talks, if you wish.'' The Great Chief looked at them, wanting to be respectful.

The children were still playing and watching. It seemed things might go well.

The two women were not used to such a situation when sitting down to talk business. They were used to large conference halls, surrounded by dozens of delegates and officials from different industries, military and political branches. Never have they been in a comfortable lounge-type room with kids playing and a head of state dressed in robes.

"First of all, I'd like to say it is a pleasure to meet you Chief Vega." Robynne said with a cheerful smile. "I hope our two nations can work together in the near and distant future. I am Madam Robynne Hay, Minister of Foreign Affairs..."

"for the past 10 years" Sarah interupted.

"Yes, for quite some time. This is Sarah Ledgerwood, CEO of Sunlight Inc. Saint Fedski's major arms and automobile manufacturer."

"Hello" Sarah chirpped.

"Ms. Ledgerwood will be discussing sales and future development of your military and weaponry with you military leaders. I'm here to talk about our relationship and the interaction between our two militaries and economies. Which would you prefer to start with?"

''It is a pleasure to meet you both as well.'' ''I also hope our nations can work together too.'' ''We can begin with whatever you would like to. We don't mind.' The Great Chief said.

The Great Chief was seen talking some of his helpers before he looked back at the St.Fedski envoy. ''I am sure these talks will be good ones.''

''Sunlight Inc? A name like that could make someone think you were in the solar energy business.'' was a remark, a nice one, made about Sunlight Inc.

And so, we will open the talks.

"Before I left Saint Fedski, I got your message regarding the swap of divisions so your's could be trained by the veteran Commonwealth Army while a Commonwealth Division filled in for the one you sent for training. It will be arriving in two days or so. Once they are off the boats, we can transport any of your divisions back to Saint Fedski. However, we do have one request. We request that your police or military block off a couple of ports from civilian use for about a day while the 5th Commonwealth Division disembarks and deploys to their assigned base, or bases."
