"Government, up close and personal."

Today Premier Rjos announced that a modified version of the T-80 tank is ready to be released into the Red Army. "These tanks truly show the spirit of National Bolshevism. We have taken what we have, and created something that can keep up with any capitalist army!" Army officers however are worried, claiming that the costs of maintaining these modified tanks far outweigh the savings procured by altering existing tanks.

"Why are we still using a 1900's design?" chirps General Vodji Vestinik. "Do you how hard it will be to serivce the tanks? We need new tanks, not recycled Yugoslavian trash! Look, I'm part of the military sect, and shouldn't I know whats best for the military? Premier Rjos must realize he is not only Premier, but the Commissar of War as well!"

Seemingly ignoring criticism, the Premier has commisioned all T-80 tanks to begin transformation. Experts say the Premier also has plans to "update" many old soviet designs left in the UNBS.
***********************************************************
The T-80UM3 "Bars" is the rebuilt version of the T-80 Main Battle Tank in virtually all of its versions; Despite being a design over half a century old, when the Nazbol revolution swept the world, the UNBS needed combat tanks capable of engaging the latest technical revolutions in combat of the European Union, the United States, the East Asian Bloc (China, a badly weakened India after their war with Pakistan earlier in the century, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Korea, and Indonesia.), and Argentina.

Though the mass rebuilding of the T-80s to T-80UM3 standards was expensive, it was considered far cheaper by the Government than designing a whole new tank design. The United States and NATO nations instead developed new designs using older designs as a basis. The big advantage of the new designs was the fact that the new materials were much more durable. The Nazbol rebuilding of their old tanks allowed the Government to state that they had the firepower to deal with any enemy.

At first, the upgraded T-80 was equipped with the exact same weapons as the original T-80 and the main weapon was retained throughout the entire service career of the tank. There were many changes in the secondary weapons. The 12.7 and 7.62 mm machine-guns were not powerful enough to penetrate most body armors. A temporary partial solution was to replace the top mounted heavy machine-gun with a heavy grenade launcher. The final solution was to replace both weapons with rail guns. Even so, many crews prefer the grenade launcher over the rail guns. As a result, the grenade launcher was retained on many of the old tanks. The crews would remove and hide the grenade launchers when inspections were given.

Model Type: T-80UM3 (http://www.chinatoday.com/arm/tank/t80.jpg)
Vehicle Type: Main Battle Tank
Crew: Three (Driver, Gunner, and Commander).

Speed:
-Ground: 49.7 mph (80 kph) maximum road speed; 37.3 mph (60 kph) maximum off-road speed. The vehicle is designed to traverse virtually all terrain and can climb at up to a 60% grade although at a much slower speed (About 10% of maximum road speed). It can also climb barriers and ford trenches. The vehicle can also handle side slopes of up to 30%.
-Underwater: Can be equipped with snorkel to run underwater down to 16.4 feet (5.0 meters)
-Maximum Range: 341.7 miles (550 km) plus up to 155 miles (250 km) more with a large strap-on rear fuel tank that is ejected before going into battle.

Statistical Data:
Height: 7.22 feet (2.2 meters) to top of commander's cupola.
Width: 11.15 feet (3.4 meters)
Length: 32.48 feet (9.9 meters) with gun forward; 24.28 feet (7.4 meters) for just the hull/main body of the tank.
Weight: 49 tons (44.45 metric tons) fully loaded
Power Source: Gas Turbine Engine.
Cargo Capacity: Minimal, enough for equipment with crew

Weapon Systems:

-125 mm Smooth Bore Cannon/Missile Launcher: Mounted in the turret. The T-80UM3 enjoys a more accurate strike for the main gun using the laser targeting sight (not for the ATGMs). The T-80UM3 can also fire the AT-20 ATGW through the 125 mm gun; Truly a multi-purpose weapon that is considerably effective against enemy armor and robots alike.
--Maximum Effective Range: Direct fire range is 6,561 feet (2,000 meters). Has a quadrant site that allows the Sabot (APSD) rounds to be fired indirectly out to 30,839 feet (9,400 meters). Range for missiles varies with short range missile type; Usually Armor Piercing are carried (Go to Revised bomb and missile table).
--Payload: 40 gun rounds; Usually 9 HE, 9 HEAT, 9 AP, 9 APSD, and 4 Thermite. 5 HE, 5 HEAT, 5 AP, 7 APSD, and 2 Thermite are stored in the carrousel; The remaining sixteen rounds require two minutes (Eight melee rounds) by an untrained crew to load into the carrousel, and only one minute (Four melee rounds) by a trained crew. An additional round can be stored, ready to fire, in the main gun. If they are availible, this is usually a thermite round so that the tank can deal with a surprise attack of any type. Most forces in the UNBS have extremely limited supplies of thermite rounds; Substitute them for one more each of the other types of rounds, and if a round is carried in the barrel, it will probably be HEAT. Six AT-20 ATGWs; These are essentially a surface to surface version of the standard Rifts short range missile. Armor piercing versions are standard, though thermite and even fusion versions are planned. Four are stored in the carrousel; The other two are counted in the reload times for the carrousel above.

-Top Weapon Mount (1): The tank has a spindle to mount a weapon on the top of the turret which is normally controlled by the commander of the tank. The weapon is designed for use against troops assaulting the tank and against aircraft. Originally the weapon carried was the 12.7 millimeter NSV Machine-gun but the weapon was replaced by a variety of different weapons. The grenade launcher was the favorite replacement weapon by many vehicle crews.
--A) 12.7 millimeter NSV Machine-gun: While the Nazbol military was able to replace the armor of the tank with stronger materials, initially there were no suitable weapons developed for the tank. The best that could be done was to develop new ammunition for the standard machine-gun. The weapon was soon found to be ineffective and was replaced by more powerful weapons.
Maximum Effective Range: 3,000 feet (914.4 meters)
Payload: 400 rounds (10 bursts).
--B) ATR-50 Automatic Grenade Launcher: Weapon is very similar to the WI-GL21 Automatic Grenade Launcher produced by Wellington Industries and the American Automatic Grenade Launcher operated around the same time but uses a larger grenade and is heavier in design. Weapon was used in vehicles as well as being used in tripod mounts and used by power armors. Weapon can fire single shot or bursts of ten rounds and can inflict heavy damage when burst fired. Unlike the American design, the Nazbol automatic grenade launcher only used belts. The tank normally mounted two belts together to increase number of rounds to 400 rounds. It is believed that the Nazbol tank crews saw the effectiveness of the M1A5 equipped with this weapon so they decide to replace their heavy machine-gun with this weapon. This mount was never officially mounted on the tank but was very common none-the-less. This weapon remained very popular with tank crews and was not replaced in many of the tanks which carried it. Officially, all mounts were suppose to be replaced by the 10 mm Railgun.
Maximum Effective Range: 3,000 feet (914 meters)
Payload: 400 Round Double Belt.
--C) 10 millimeter GSR-10 Heavy Railgun: The Nazbol military was unable to make an effective liquid propellant weapon and instead developed, some say stole, a rail gun design for their existing vehicles. It replaced the 12.7 mm machine-gun in most vehicles although some with the grenade launcher retained that weapon instead. The mount was redesigned so that it can be controlled from within the turret.
Maximum Effective Range: 4,920 feet (1,500 meters)
Payload: 1200 rounds (60 bursts).

-Light Secondary Mount (1): Weapon is Co-axially mounted with the main gun. The original 7.62 long Croatian round, while longer and more powerful than the standard Soviet 7.62 Kalishikov round was still considered under powered by most crews. Several officers attempted to convince the government to mount a 14.5 mm heavy machine but the heavy weapon was not adopted. Eventually, the weapon was replaced by a medium rail gun but many crews still preferred a heavy rail gun.
--A) 7.62 mm PKT Medium Machine-guns (1): Carried on the original T-80 Tank and while underpowered was not replaced until a 5 mm rail gun was developed in the second half of the twenty first century. The American Abrams quickly replaced their medium machine-guns with liquid propellant weapons. While special ammunition was developed, the crews of the tanks still greatly disliked this weapon.
Maximum Effective Range: 2,000 feet (609.6 meters)
Payload: Carries 12,500 rounds for the Coaxial mount
--B) 5 millimeter GSR-05 Medium Railgun: Finally developed as a replacement for the medium machine-gun. It was much prefered by tank crews but was still considered underpowered compared to other tank mounts.
Maximum Effective Range: 2,000 feet (609.6 meters)
Payload: Carries 4,000 rounds total (100 full bursts or 200 half-bursts)

--Multi-Option "Shtora-8" Jammers (2): These are multi-purpose jamming devices designed to stop incoming missiles and confuse an enemy targeting the T-80U-M2.
Effect: Each firing launches two Chaff rockets, two Flare rockets, and the tank begins emitting a large cloud of smoke, both standard and Anti-Laser Prismatic aerosol ; The Chaff rockets detonate and spread Chaff over the area, the flare rockets floating down by parachute; Effects last for one minute. The Chaff rockets have a 20% chance of interfering with the course of enemy missiles each (40%, total) that are radar guided so that they miss the tank. The flares have the same percentages, except with IR-guided missiles. The Anti-Laser prismatic aerosol reduces damage by half for any laser beam striking the tank (With the exception of X-ray lasers but not variable frequency lasers; X-Ray lasers suffer no damage modifiers, and variable frequency lasers simply cannot compensate for the variables involved), and adds a great difficulty to targeting the tank with a laser guidance system or visually.
Range: Around tank only; Rough distance of 80 ft (24 m) around tank.
Payload: Sufficient for ten firings; One of each type of jamming option from each side of the vehicle.

Sensors:
-Anti-Aircraft Radar: Range of 10 miles (16 km); Capable of tracking up to 10 targets simultaneously, this radar serves to guide the top weapon mount in engaging aircraft, and providing early warning of incoming aircraft and missile attacks; The radar can be programmed to shut off immediately if it detects an aircraft firing a missile, incase the missile is a radar-homing HARM type. The radar is highly ineffective against ground targets. Quadrant sight for long-range targeting of Sabot rounds:
-Data-interlink transmitters: For using targeting data from scout vehicles for firing the Anti-Tank missiles or Sabot rounds. Bonus varies on the quality of the data being provided, but all data would allow the tank to fire over obstacles if the scout vehicle is in the right position. The normal effective battlefield range is 5 miles (8 km).
-Full Infrared viewing mode: range of 2 miles (3.2 km), with IR searchlight.
-Two Periscopes: Has up to x100 magnification for commander and driver to view out of while maneuvering the vehicle. Visual targeting sight with same magnification possible for gunner.
-Laser targeting system for main gun: range of 2,000 meters.

Red Army Announces "Future Force Warrior" System
Nazbol State News
"Government, up close and personal."

The Red Army announced today it would begin research and, hopefully in the next fivie years, implementing a Future Force Warrior system. Similar to the capitalist Land Warrior system, researchers assured the press today that "This system will not be promised in 10 years, and then post-poned another 5."

Future Force Warrior is the name of a UNBS military initiative, part of the Future Combat Systems project. The FFW project seeks to create a lightweight, fully-integrated infantryman combat system. It is the latest in a series of network-centric, next-generation infantry combat projects the US military have developed over the past decade, such as the Soldier Integrated Protective Ensemble technology demonstration program, Land Warrior, and Force XXI.

The first phase of the project involves a development of the technologies to help reduce the soldier's fighting load and power requirements and improving the soldier's protection, lethality, and environmental and situational awareness, with planned deployment in 2020, to serve the Army's short-term needs. The Army's plan is to introduce the subsystems in "spirals" every two years, instead of one large rollout every ten years. The UNBS military hopes to develop a fully-realized end product sometime in 2030, incorporating research from U.C. Berkeley's BLEEX exoskeleton project and the Sarajevo Institute of Technology's Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies into a final design.

Headgear Subsystem
The Headgear Subsystem, described in the Concept by FFW development team at Natick as Information Central, is the situational awareness hub of the system. It would include integrated tactical processing by providing maps, routes, and data with a 180° emissive visor display, high bandwidth wireless communications, microelectronic/optics combat sensor suite that provides 360° situational awareness, and integrated small arms protection.

In the current development program, the FFW Advanced Technology Demonstrator (ATD), this subsytem is labeled Sensors & Communications (C4ISR) Vision. Its current capabilities would provide networked FFW-equipped small units with robust team communications using JTRS Cluster 5 Soldier Radio Waveform, state-of-the-art distributed and fused sensors, organic tactical intelligence/collection assets, enhanced situational understanding, embedded training, on-the-move planning, and linkage to other Future Combat System assets.

Combat Uniform Subsystem
The FFW project aims to help protect the soldier by providing full-body bullet and fragmentation protection. In the original concept, the Combat Uniform Subsystem, also known as Survivability Central, is subdivided into three layers, the Protective Outer Layer, the Power Centric Layer, the Life Critical Layer.

Currently, under the Survivability Vision given by the Army's ATD, bullet-resistant armor provides protection to the upper arms, the upper legs and the chest and abdomen. These are currently made from bullet-resistant fibers such as Kevlar and hard ceramics but a joint Army-MIT subprogram is developing a ferrofluid smart material composed of iron particles suspended in a silicon oil that harden within milliseconds when a current is applied. However, the development team at MIT has said that it will likely take five to 10 years before the substance is made truly bullet resistant.

Weapons Subsystem

The MR-CIn the original FFW Concept, the Weapon Subsystem, known as Lethality Central, is pistol-like combat weapon used for both indirect fire and direct fire. Weighing 5 pounds and using Metal Storm firearms technology, the pepperbox weapon fires 15 mm cold-launched, guided rounds stacked in 4 tubes with another tube loaded with high velocity 4.6 mm projectiles as a close combat personal defense weapon.

Recently, the Crye Associates Modular Rifle - Caseless (MR-C) caseless rifle has been revealed as the standard infantry weapon to be used as in conjunction with the Future Force Warrior system. By most accounts, it is likely to be chambered in 6.8 mm caseless ammunition and a 45 round magazine. At this time, no actual working model has been produced and Crye has only produced mockups for usability testing and demonstration.

The FFW will also have a new experimental weapon called the ElectroDart. It is a type of gun which delivers electric shocks to the opposing enemy through wires when the gun is fired. The voltage of the gun is roughly 50000 volts.

Under the FFW ATD, the Army's Lethality Vision proposes an integrated, advanced, lightweight weapons system with fire control software and hardware that is optimized for urban combat. The infantryman would be able to synchronized direct and indirect fires from Future Combat System and other networked platforms.

Warfighter Physiological Status Monitor Subsystem

WPSM is an on-board physiological and medical sensor suite that would collect and monitor information regarding vital signs such as body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, hydration and stress levels, sleep status, body positioning and workload capacity of the warrior. If necessary, the WPSM can notify medics and commanders if the soldier has been wounded or has become fatigued.

Under the Advanced Technology Demonstration program, the physiological sensors of the WPSM are part of the Mobility, Sustainability and Human Performance Vision. The Red Army's overall vision for this unit would be to provide "On the Move hydration" and hydration monitoring, as well as monitoring of the soldier's cognitive states, health, and wellbeing.

Micro-climate Conditioning Subsystem

The Micro-climate Conditioning Subsystem, built into the Life Critical Layer, is a network of narrow tubing that would provide 100 watts of heating or cooling to the soldier.

Currently, the Future Force Warrior Cooling System (FFW-CS) being developed, circulates chilled water through a special heat-transfer garmet. The cooled circulating fluid pulls metabolic heat from the soldier's body and transfers it into the environment through its condenser. The main condenser unit can provide 120 W cooling power in a 95 °F environment, with an average power consumption of 35 W and weighs 3.5 pounds, excluding the power source. A fully functional demonstration prototype is expected to be exhibted in 2017.

Power Subsystem

The Power Subsytem, built into the Power Centric Layer, would fed by the Duration Central, a 2 to 20 watt Micro Turbine fueled by a liquid hydrocarbon fuel cell. According to the concept, ten ounces of fuel would power the soldier's integrated electronics ensemble for up to 6 days. Polymeric nanofiber battery patches embedded in the headgear and weapon provide back-up power for three hours.

Listed under the Power Vision in the Advanced Technology Demonstrator, the current specifications ask for 24-hour autonomous individual operation and 72-hour continuous autonomous team operations, with a high density, low weight/volume, self-generating/re-generating, reliable, safe power source.

Greek Nationalists Clash with UNBS Loyalists

Battles on the streets of Athens today, as Greek Nationalists protested in front of a NBP headquaters. The nationalists marched down the streets for nearly 45 minutes before a counter protest met up with them. For a full hour the protests jeered and yelled at each other, until a full blown street fight erupted.

The much larger forces of the NBP loyalists (http://nbp-info.ru/new/photo/rev/images/9.jpg)

Seemingly from now where, a militant group of the NBP loyalists ran out with riot gear and began to beat the Greek Nationalists. The fight ended quickly, with the Nationalists running in a full rout. Premier Rjos has stated today that such actions are not to be looked upon favorbly. "We are one people, united under our ideology. Petty fights like this only serve to weaken the country. I ask the people of Greece: Has not the NBP lowered the unemployment rate dramatically? Has not the NBP defended each ethnic groups rights? This government was not imposed upon the people! The Greeks chose to ovethrow their chains, and then voted to join the Union!"

The Greek Nationalists Run (http://i.timeinc.net/time/potw/20010608/riot.jpg)

Propaganda divisions have been deployed to Greece, and this reporter would liek to point out that only Athens has shown such distaste for the freedom of National Bolshevism.

Commercial Break:
Oh my spacious and beautiful homeland
Full of rivers, forests and vast shores
There's no other country that I know of
In which mankind ever breathes so free!

Welcome back. Premier Rjos speaking via communique to North Korea, relaeased to the public news that North Korea was "one of the few states to recognize the imporatance of National Bolshevism." When asked about allegations that he intended to use this new political contact to further the Nazbol Nuclear program, Premier Rjos refused to comment.

In other news, the Red Airforce has launched it's own modification program. Backed by both Labor and Corporate party officials, the vechicle in question is the Havoc helicopter. Modification is to begin as soon as possible, and the Military sect has called on Labor party members to further lower the unemployment rate by getting jobs at aircraft construction plants. Since this plea, employment in these plants has risen nearly 4% in the entire Union, except for Greece who put out a whopping 7% increase.
***********************************************************
Red Air Force Modified Mil Mi-28 Havoc Attack Helicopter

Along with the Hind and Hokum helicopters, the Havoc formed an important element of the Yugoslavian attack helicopter forces. Like the Hokum class helicopter produced by Kamov, the Havoc was only produced in limited numbers during the time which Croatia and various balkan states was under Capitalist leadership. It was not until the Nazbol Revolution that the helicopter entered full production.

When the Nazbol leadership decided to increase their military forces, the Havoc design was already dated but producing an all new design would require a more severe delay than was considered acceptable. Designs like the Comanche helicopter included stealth materials and were considered far in advance to the Havoc. It was decided that the basic design of the Havoc would be used with only minor modifications including the use of high strength alloys and composites. The Havoc attack helicopter formed the bulk of the new Nazbol military forces with a smaller number of Hinds and Hokum attack helicopters produced to supplement it.

First versions of the Havoc were armed with a 30-mm Shipunov 2A42 Cannon in a chin mount. The chin mount has the ability to move 110 degrees from side to side and can angle down up to 40 degrees and up 13 degrees. The cannon is identical to the cannon carried on the Hi-50 Hokum but the Havoc carries only half the amount of ammunition. Many Havoc attack helicopters were upgraded with twin 20 mm rail guns replacing the conventional chin mount. Payload is increased to 500 rounds with the rail gun. A variety of missiles, missile packs, and gun packs can be mounted on the hard points. As well as weaponry, the Havoc carries a variety of equipment for self defense against missiles.

Model Type: Mil Mi-28-P (http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Rifts/Rifts-Pre-Rifts-Vehicles/Soviet/NS_Mi-28_Havoc_Helicopter.jpg)
Vehicle Type: Attack Helicopter
Crew: Two

Speed:
-Driving on Ground (Taxiing): Only possible for take offs and landings as well as for parking and storage. Speed is 40 mph (64 kph) when traveling and not on take off or landing.
-Flying: Conventional: Hover to 199 mph (173 knots / 320 kph) with 168 mph (146 knots / 270 kph) cruise speed and has a ceiling of 19,030 feet (5,800 meters). The helicopter has great maneuverability and VTOL capabilities. The helicopter has great maneuverability and VTOL capabilities.
-Range: Conventional: The Havoc has a non combat range (without any ordinance) of 621 miles (534 nautical miles / 990 km) with auxiliary fuel. If the helicopter is loaded with ordnance, range is reduced to about 216 miles (248 nautical miles / 400 km).

Statistical Data:
Rotor Diameter: 56 feet 5 inches (17.2 meters)
Wingspan: 19 feet 4 inch (5.89 meters)
Length, Rotors Turning: 59 feet 4 inches (21.1 meters)
Fuselage Length: 55 feet 10 inches (13.53 meters)
Fuselage Width: 10 feet 3 inches (3.12 meters)
Height: 15 feet 5 inches (4.7 meters)
Weight: 17,846 lbs (8,095 kg) empty and 26,676 lbs (12,100 kg) fully loaded.
Power Source: 2 Klimov TV3-117 turboshafts each rated at 2,500 hp,
Cargo: Minimal (Storage for small equipment), does not include hard points

Weapon Systems:

-Gun Mount: The cannon is mounted under the chin of the helicopter. The cannon mount can move vertically up to 13 degrees up and 40 degrees down. The cannon can also move up to 110 degrees from side to side.
--Shipunov 2A42 30 mm cannon: Mounted on early models of the helicopters. They have replaced the standard ammo with M.D., depleted uranium ramjet ammunition which allows the helicopter to hold it's own and inflict damage on modern, M.D.C. targets. The gun is unique in that is has a very long range, but it also uses ramjet shells with a powerful charge, degrading the life expectancy of the barrel of the autocannon and limiting the gun's payload. Standard ramjet shells can be used, but reduce the range of the weapon by half and keep the number of shells the same.
---Maximum Effective Range: 6,560 feet (2,000 meters / 2 kilometers). But can be fired at up to 13,200 feet (4,000 meters)
---Payload: 250 rounds (12 bursts).
---Notes: Normally the barrel of the autocannon has to be replaced after firing 1,200 rounds (Usually it's replaced after going through two full ammo loads, or 1,040 rounds/52 bursts.). Normal 30mm Ramjet ammunition can be used in place of the standard Nazbol type; This halves the range of the weapon (Only for as long as that ammo is used), however, without any increases in ammo payload.

-Ordnance Hard Points (4 or 6): Conventional versions of the Mi-28 Havoc has a total of four hard points. The helicopter can carry either one long range missile, two medium range missiles, or four short range missiles on each hard-point, or a Mini-Missile box launcher containing 20 Mini-Missiles. The hard-points can also carry bombs of comparable type to the missiles mentioned. The only restriction is that each hard-point must carry all weapons of the same type. Finally, the hard-points can also be fitted with the standard 23mm Autocannon pods in place of missiles or rockets; Each hard-point can carry one such pod in place of it's missiles and rockets, and the others can still carry missiles or rockets, or additional hard points can be used for more Gun pods.
--Bombs and Missiles: The only restriction is that a hard point must carry all the same type of missiles or bombs. Both unguided and guided bombs can be carried. In two pilot versions, short range missile racks are controlled by either the pilot or the weapons officer.
---Maximum Effective Range: Varies by missile type.
---Payload: 1 long range missile, 2 medium range missiles, 4 short range missiles per each hard point
--Mini-Missile Pod: Large capacity mini-missile pod. The mini missile pods are normally carried for ground strafing, anti-troop, and anti-emplacement attacks. Normal missile used are armor piercing, thermite, or fragmentation mini-missiles. In two pilot versions, mini missile pods are controlled by the pilot.
---Maximum Effective Range: Varies with missile types, mini-missiles only.
---Rate of fire: Each pod can fire one at a time or in volleys of 2, 4, 8, or 10 and can be linked with other mini missile pods for greater number of missiles.
---Payload: each pod carries 20 mini-missile

--UPK-23-250 23 mm Autocannon in hard point pod: Sold along with export variants. The pods are fixed to the hard points of the Ka-62 when used, in place of missiles or rockets, but are excellent for strafing.
---Maximum Effective Range: 5,000 feet (1,524 meters)
---Payload: 250 rounds (10 half-bursts or 5 full bursts) per each pod;

--Anti-Missile Chaff/Flare Dispenser (1): Use the same effects as the TRIAX model. However, each time the system is engaged, the system fires off one chaff and 4 flares. Reduce effects by 20% against smart missiles.
Effect:
01-50 Enemy missile or missile volley detonates in chaff cloud - Missile are all destroyed
51-75 Enemy missile or missile volley loses track of real target and veers away in wrong direction (May lock onto another target)
76-00 No effect, missile is still on target
---Duration: 4 minutes.
---Payload: 20 chaff, 40 flares. Each time the system is engaged, the system fires off one chaff and 1D4 flares.

Special Equipment:
The equipment of the Mi-28 has been upgraded but many of the original systems of the Mi-28 are still on the helicopter.

--Internal Active Jamming Gear: Causes -25% to detection but when it is active, other vehicles/ bases can detect that it is jamming, and some missiles will home in on jamming signals.
--E.S.M.: Radar Detector, Passively detects other radars being operated.
--Radar System: Range of 30 miles (48 km); Capable of tracking up to 48 targets simultaneously, this radar serves to provide early warning of incoming aircraft and missile attacks and to provide targeting for both carried missiles and the gun. The radar also has terrain following features. The radar can be programmed to shut off immediately if it detects an aircraft firing a missile on a heading towards the Mi-28, in case the missile is a radar-homing HARM type.
--Full Infared viewing mode and FLIR system: Range of 4 miles (6.4 km), with IR searchlight.

"Government, up close and personal."

It is among the most horrific weapons in any army's collection: the thermobaric bomb, a fearsome explosive that sets fire to the air above its target, then sucks the oxygen out of anyone unfortunate enough to have lived through the initial blast.

This year, the Red Military used such weapons for the first time in combat, to incinerate suspected underground Nationalist hideouts in Albania. In the next few months, the Red Army will start putting this sweeping power in the hands of individual soldiers.

"This significantly increases the firepower that can be put in a single person's hands," said Reuben Brigety, an arms researcher at Human Rights Watch. "I'm not aware of any other conventional munitions used by a single person that can have the same destructive power."

Thermobaric grenades and mini-rockets were among dozens of current and future munitions the military demonstrated this week at National Arsenal, the Red Army's lone research-and-development center for armaments and ammunition.

According to NA officials, thermobaric ammunition will be tested this spring with the Bunker Defeat rocket launcher -- a shoulder-mounted, disposable system that was first deployed in Albania. It'll also be tried out with the M203,the grenade launcher Nazbol conscripts have been recenlty introduced to.

But the Red Army's ultimate goal is to put these mini-bombs into the MR-C, its next-generation rifle. The 33-inch-long weapon is designed to fire two types of rounds: standard bullets and programmable, grenade-like ammunition that explode in the air.

Each of these high-explosive air-bursting rounds comes imbedded with a computer chip, explained Lt. Col. Ishto Pavelic, who oversees the MR-C program at the National Arsenal. These chips allow the soldier to program exactly when and where the ammunition should go off. If there are enemy forces behind a wall 150 feet away, the round can explode at 151 feet, over their heads.

"With the VHS (Assault Rifle, the Nazbol infantry's 10 year standard), it took a considerable amount of ammunition to take out a squad of people," said Patrick Garrett, an analyst with Globalsecurity.org. "With this air-bursting ammunition, the MR-C will be able to put those people on the ground in one shot."

The MR-C -- which won't make it into soldiers' hands until 2020 -- gets even deadlier when thermobaric ammunition is added.

Thermobarics inject a fine, flammable mist into the air, Brigety said. Once ignited, the mist creates a mammoth fireball and pressure wave that's nearly impossible to avoid. The mist can travel around corners and into hidden crannies. And it burns relatively slowly, so jumping out of the way on the bomb's initial impact isn't much of a survival tactic.

Once the fire dies down, the mist sucks all of the oxygen out of the confined space. Those who manage to escape the thermobaric flames and pressure waves quickly expire from asphyxiation.

The fuel that's shot out of a thermobaric weapon is underoxidized, according to Judah Goldwasser, a program officer at the Office of Naval Research. When it mixes with the ambient oxygen in a room, it begins to ignite.

It's not hard to imagine why the military used 2,000-pound thermobaric bombs in Alabania: They are almost tailor-made for destroying cave-based encampments.

Nor is it difficult to see why soldiers faced with rooting out loyalists to Democratists in Athens would covet a small version of such a weapon. City combat is dangerously unpredictable because any corner could hide an enemy. Soldiers often clear every room of every building they sweep. Thermobaric ammunition can eliminate enemies in several rooms at once.

"For urban warfare (thermobarics) could be very effective," said Andrew Koch, Zagreb bureau chief of Jane's Defence Weekly. "If you lob a grenade in the entrance of a building, it hits just the people in the entrance. A thermobaric weapon would (go) though the rest of the building."

Koch added, "You might not need to have Marines fighting room to room to room if you have one of these."

New airship carries commercial hopes

A new breed of hi-tech giant airships planned by a Montenegrian company could be the heavy lift aircraft of the future. The CargoLifter is intended to carry payloads of up to 160 tonnes - about the weight of 27 full-grown African elephants - at a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) and a maximum height of 2,000 metres (6,500-feet) non-stop over several thousand kilometres.

Filled with 500,000 cubic metres (17.6 million cubic feet) of non-flammable helium, the airship will be 260 metres (850-feet) long and is designed to carry large loads to remote locations.

According to the company behind the airship the CargoLifter will not need a landing strip and will have more endurance than a conventional aircraft.

Strong keel

To enable the craft to carry heavy weights the manufacturers have come up with a new design.

The large Zeppelins built early in the last century could carry big loads but they were themselves heavy. To keep them rigid they had a strong metal frame.

It would have taken three Zeppelins the size of the CargoLifter to carry the same payload.

The much smaller 'blimps' currently in operation consist of a lighter aerodynamically shaped envelope that, like a balloon, is kept rigid by the pressure of the gas. The pilot, passengers, and engines are carried in a gondola mounted underneath.

The CargoLifter is of a modified semi-rigid design. Like a blimp it has no frame, but to allow it to carry heavy weights the airship has a fixed keel which also houses the cargo bay, the flight deck, crew's quarters and engines.

Early promise

Lighter-than-air transport considerably predates the aeroplane. The first balloons flew in the 18th century and by 1900 the Germans were producing rigid airships capable of carrying considerable loads over long distances.

Early Zeppelin - weight penalty (http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/765000/images/_769642_150zep.jpg)Early Zeppelin - weight penalty

Built by Luftschiffsbau-Zeppelin, they consisted of a cigar-shaped, trussed and covered frame supported by internal gas cells containing hydrogen.

Beneath the 128 metre (420-foot) craft, a keel-like structure connected two external cars, each of which contained a 16-horsepower engine geared to two propellers. The first craft attained speeds approaching 32 km/h (20 mph).

By the mid-1930s, the Zeppelins had doubled in size. The largest airship ever built, the Hindenburg, was 245 metres (804-feet) long, and powered by four 1,100-horsepower diesel engines, giving it a maximum speed of 135 km/h (84 mph).

In 1936 this airship carried a total of 1,002 passengers on 10 scheduled round trips between Germany and the United States.

On May 6, 1937, while landing at Lakehurst, New Jersey, the Hindenburg was completely destroyed when it crashed and burst into flames, with a loss of 36 lives.

End of an era

Hindeburg disaster destroyed industry (http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/765000/images/_769642_150hind.jpg)

The cause of the fire has always been assumed to be an electrostatic discharge setting light to a hydrogen leak.

Recent research by a retired Nasa engineer has shown that the airship's lifting gas was not a direct cause of the fire.

An expert on hydrogen, Addison Bain studied photographic evidence of the disaster together with remnants of the airship and came up with an alternative theory.

He found that the airship's fabric had been coated with a mixture of cellulose nitrate 'dope' and aluminium powder, which is potentially flammable in its own right.

As the Hindenburg came into land it passed between two thunderstorms and built up a large static charge.

As it touched down most of this electricity passed harmlessly to earth, but parts of the covering remained charged. A spark between two panels set fire to the dope/aluminium mixture in the fabric.

The fire quickly spread and in turn set off the hydrogen in the Zeppelin's gas cells.

Bain's research has since been confirmed by contemporary German records which were suppressed at the time because of the impact they would have had on the image of German industry just as Nazi power was reaching its zenith.

The Zeppelin airship works were destroyed by Allied bombing during World War II and building of the huge rigid airships was never resumed.

This was partly because transport aircraft offered a much faster and safer alternative, but also because of the psychological impact of the Hindenburg disaster. Graphic images of the crash burnt their way into the public consciousness.

Small scale trials

Even though harmless helium has been used in all airships built since, their construction has been limited to small blimps, used mostly for advertising purposes and on a limited scale by the US Navy for coastal patrols.

'Joey' - ready for the future (http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/765000/images/_769642_150joey2.jpg)

Now, over 60 years since the last giant commercial airship was built, it is now the National Bolshevists who are at the forefront of the lighter-than-air aviation industry.

A full size prototype of the CargoLifter is still several years away but a 1:8 scale version - called Joey - is already in existence.

This experimental airship is 32 metres (104-feet) long. Like the CargoLifter, it has a keel made of carbon-fibre structural elements and a hull, so that the experience gained can flow straight into the development and production of the fullscale airship.

Despite Joey's relatively small volume of 1,000 cubic metres (35,000 cubic feet) the aircraft is fully functional and will be able to carry out test flights to provide a practical check on the concept and computer calculations.

Later it will be possible to use Joey for training CargoLifter pilots.

CargoLifter is in competition with Zeppelin which has a smaller proof-of-concept aircraft flying.

The CargoLifter AG CL 160 super-heavy lift cargo airship was designed to transport very heavy objects more economically, being able to deliver its payload directly to the desired 'drop off' point. (http://www.aerospace-technology.com/projects/cargolifter/images/img3.jpg)

Union of National Bolshevist States Drakon class Fast Attack Submarine (http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Rifts/Rifts-Pre-Rifts-Vehicles/Soviet/NS_Drakon_Fast_Attack_Submarine.gif)

Over the decades of inept "democratic" rule which the Balkans suffered through from the last decade of the Twentieth Century to virtually the first decade of the Twenty-First Century, all Yugoslavian Submarine forces were allowed to rot until they were shadow of their former self. Immediately, the Premier, Rjos, planned for a large military expansion program including the construction of new submarines. In general, the old Yugoslavian submarines were operational but a few remained in service until new vessels could replace them. Many of the old submarines had been operated long beyond their planned service careers and even the submarines which had maintained were ready to be scrapped. Within just a few years of the Nazbols taking over in the Balkans, the revolution in super strong materials took place and virtually all military designs became obsolete. The Nazbol Union developed new designs for fast attack, cruise missile, and ballistic missile submarine using the advanced materials and weapons being developed at the time. Instead of building many different designs that fulfill the same general role, the designers were able to combine their talents and develop a single design. The first of the Drakon class fast attack submarines will laid down in 2020, the same year as the first Novik class destroyer, and about forty of these submarines will built at the rate of about one submarine per year. At the time of the classes commissioning, they will be among the most advanced submarines in the world. Their missions will vary: they will used as battle group escorts, independent hunter killer submarines, and even as cruise missile platforms against shore targets, although cruise missile submarines will be more commonly employed in this role.

The vessels are constructed out of advanced composites and coan dive deeper than any previous Soviet submarine class, and Soviet submarine classes were already known for their deep diving abilities. Diving depth of the new Nazbol fast submarine was 1800 meters. The hull of the submarine is teardrop shaped like the previous Akula class. Compared to the American Tigershark class, the Drakon class is quite a bit larger although it is only slightly larger than the old Akula class. The first eight vessels of the Drakon class will use a standard nuclear reactor but later vessels in the class are predicited to use two fusion reactors. The older members of the class will be later refitted with fusion reactors to bring them up to later vessel standards. The power plant is incredibly powerful for its size and can drive the submarine faster than any previous classes since the Alfa class, yet is very quiet. It is faster than the American Tigershark which is planned for around the same time with a top speed of around 40 knots. The submarine is designed for silent operations at speeds up to 10 knots. The vessel is covered by special sonar absorbent rubber materials like most submarines to further reduce the noise the submarine made and used a pump jet instead of a standard propeller. The sonar systems are far more effective than the systems in previous Soviet submarines and will updated several times during the submarines classes' service.

Weaponry is very unusual by American and British standards. One of the reason for this is because the submarine incorporates a short range anti-torpedo interceptor system on either side of the hull. The Americans prefer to fire multi-warhead torpedoes from standard tubes on both their submarines and surface vessels. The launchers are outside the pressure hull and can only be reloaded when the submarine is in port. The Drakon class is armed with eight forward torpedo tubes. The torpedo tubes are larger than those in American submarines and can fire larger torpedoes as well. The Drakon class will be armed with sixteen vertical style cruise missile launchers which are mounted behind the submarine's sail. The vessel has a short range missile system on the sail for use against aircraft.

The crew is far smaller than American submarine classes of the same period and is only fifty crew members due to impressive automation and the submarines are not expected to operate for as long a period of time as American Submarines. As well, the Drakon class has no provision for troops. Sources say crew compartments are more comfortable on American submarines and includes many luxuries, but such are the lies of our capitalist foes. The entire crew of the Drakon class are officers like the old Soviet Alfa submarine because the Nazbol enlisted crew simply do not have the skills needed.
*************************************************************
Model Type: Drakon class Fast Attack Submarine

Underwater: 46.6 mph (40.5 knots /75.1 mph)
Maximum Depth: 5905.5 feet (1,800 meters)
Range: Effectively Unlimited due to fusion engines (needs to refuel every 20 years and requires maintenance as well). Ship carries 4 months of supplies on board.

Statistical Data:
Height: 54.5 feet (16.6 meters) not including periscopes and antenna
Width: 41.0 feet (12.5 meters)
Length: 375.7 feet (114.5 meters)
Displacement: 7,900 tons standard and 13,200 tons submerged
Cargo: Submarine is very cramped, 16 tons of nonessential equipment and supplies. Each enlisted crew member has a small locker for personal items and uniforms. Ships officers have more space for personal items. Most of the ship's spaces are taken up by extra torpedoes, weapons, and engines.
Power System: Nuclear; average energy life of 20 years. Normally refuels every 10 years

Weapon Systems:
Eight (8) Super Heavy Torpedo Tubes: On the bow of the submarine are eight torpedo tubes. Tubes are 25.6 inches (650 mm) wide and torpedoes can be used against both surface ships and submarines. Along with standard torpedoes, launcher can also fire missiles (Long or Cruise) in special canisters, rocket boosted ASW torpedoes, and mines. These are modern, variable option torpedoes that are about 25% faster than the latest US designs of the time period. Submarine carries 48 reloads for torpedoes. Nazbol submarines normally carry a number of interceptor torpedoes which the standard Nazbol tactic is to fire an interceptor torpedo down the path of a torpedo fired at the submarine.
-Maximum Effective Range: 40 miles (64 km) to 60 miles (96.6 km) depending on type.
-Rate of fire: One at a time or in volleys of 2, 3, 4, or 8.
-Payload: 8 Total (Has 48 torpedoes and missiles for reloads with 8 Interceptor torpedoes)

Sixteen (16) Vertical Launch Cruise Missile Launchers: In the rear of the submarine behind the main sail, the submarine has a Vertical Launch Missile System for launching missiles. Missiles are launched in special canisters that enable the missiles to be used in depths down to 300 feet. Most missiles normally carried are fusion (Also smart missiles). Launcher can fire at multiple targets simultaneously and are designed to be used against ships and against land targets.
-Maximum Effective Range: As per cruise missile type.
-Rate of fire: One at a time or in volleys of 2, 4, 8, or 16 and can be fired at multiple target at the same time.
-Payload: 16 cruise missiles total. Submarine carries no reloads.

Sail Mounted Short Range Missile Launcher (1): The submarine has a retractable short range missile launcher on the sail for defense against aircraft although is effective against missiles as well. Launcher can be used while the submarine is up to 80 feet (24 meters) deep and is useful against aircraft hunting the submarine while the submarine is underwater. Short Range Missiles are usually a mixture of 50% Armor Piercing and 50% Thermite. Launchers can lock onto multiple targets at the same. The systems missile launchers can target up four targets and can fire a volley up to twice per melee.
-Maximum Effective Range: As per short range missile type.
-Rate of fire: One at a time or in volleys of two or four and can be fired up to four times per minute.
-Payload: 64 missiles

Killer Dart "Interceptor" Short Range Torpedo Launchers (2): The launcher is mounted on the sides of the submarine. These so called "Killer Darts" are a Nazbol interceptor torpedo, designed primarily for intercepting and hitting incoming torpedoes, with a secondary function against small submersibles and submersible power armors. They are mounted outside of the submarines pressure hull in retractable mounts. The launchers can only be reloaded in port. American and European designed prefer to fire interceptor torpedoes from their standard torpedo tubes. Launcher is primarily designed to intercept incoming torpedoes but can be used against other vessels, against large submarines, and against underwater troops. Other torpedoes can be used but are very rarely used.
-Maximum Effective Range: 2000 feet (609.6 meters) using interceptor torpedoes
-Rate of fire: Each launcher can fire salvos of up to eight short range interceptor torpedoes per minute.
-Payload: 48 Interceptor Torpedoes each for 96 interceptor torpedoes.

Noisemakers: The submarine carries noisemakers to decoy torpedoes. These noisemakers are similar to those used by other submarines. The noisemakers are launched from the middle of the submarine.
-Effect: 50% of decoying normal torpedoes and 20% of decoying smart torpedoes.
-Rate of Fire: 2 at a time (Can be reloaded in one minute)
-Payload: 20 Noisemakers

Special Systems:
Advanced Hull Sonar System: Range of 50 miles (43.4 nautical miles / 80.5 km). This hull sonar system has both a passive and active system built in. Sonar system can track up to 24 targets at one time. Sonar also has built in communication system and sound pulse system to detect obstacles, objects, vessels and fish (schools and large animals), as well as measure distances and depth.

Advanced Towed Array Sonar: The system is basically a long and very sensitive sonar system carried behind the submarine on a long cable. Range of 150 miles (130.2 nautical miles / 241.4 km). This towed array sonar system has both a passive and active system built in. Sonar system can track up to 36 targets at one time.

ESM: This system is mounted in mounted in the superstructure and is extended in a similar manner to a periscope. The antenna is very hard to detect both visually and by radar. Can detect another radar system at 125% of the range of the transmitting radar.

Quieted propulsion and Anechoic Coating: The ship is designed with a very quiet pump jet propulsor design, the submarine's reactors make very little noise, and the boat is coated by a sonar defeating rubber coating. The submarine is -40% to detect when traveling at less that 10 knots and is at -20% to detect when traveling at greater than that speed.

"Good evening comrades, this is Lieutenant Zofia (http://www.cnc-source.com/content/ra2/chars/zofia.jpg) bringing you the news, upclose and personal. Our top story tonight, another modified piece of warmachine is underway as the Red Army released their plans for the 2S19U4 Self Propelled Artillery. Several officials have yet to see a 'new' piece of equipment from the Red Airforce. Air Commissar Vedric Dugan said today:

'The Red Air force, rather then release many low quality devices, is preparing a new revolutionary aircraft. Have faith comrades, your air power can only grow.

In other news, Macedonians launched their first Internet Cafe today, bringing the internet to the last of the republics. Reports indicate that only 10 hours after opening to the public, Hacker Corps recruitment in the area has DOUBLED in size."

"Another developing story tonight, as Athenians demonstrated yet again against our wonderful National Bolshevist system. The turnout was much smaller then last, with only 500 people in attendence. Premier Rjos announced today that he disagress to their message, but supports free speech. The rest of Greece however, seems to want stronger action against the protestors. We will now go to Sparta. Vlad?"

"Thank you Comrade Zofia. Today, hundreds of Spartans flooded the streets, armed with AK-47's and other weapons. When asked what their purpose was, they were only to happy to answer:

'We going to kill those damn Athenians! Trying to ruin our revolution they are! I hope the Red Airforce tests their new plane on Athens!'

Strong words from a strong people. Tonight the air is heavy with resentment, as the defeated Democratists are force to return to the very homes the revolution has given to them. Zofia."

"Thank you Comrade Vlad. Thats all the time we have today, please enjoy the upcoming Propaganda hour."

2S19U4 Self Propelled Artillery (http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Rifts/Rifts-Pre-Rifts-Vehicles/Soviet/NS_2S19_Self_Propelled_Artillery.jpg)

Originally developed at the end of the Twentieth century as a replacement for older artillery systems, it lasted far longer in service than any of the designers would have believed when it was first introduced. It was not until the later part of the Twenty-fifteens that the 2S19 Self Propelled Artillery was replaced in Soviet service. The artillery system was based off of components from the T-80 and T-72 Main Battle tanks. As a result, logistics were greatly simplified. It was an excellent design for its time but by the end of its career, they were badly in need of replacement.

When Nazbols took over the Government of the Balkans back over in 2010, the 2S19 formed the majority of mobile artillery in the Soviet military. As a result, the artillery systems were simply refitted with new armor and new ammunition when the revolution in new materials occurred in the beginning of the next five years. This was seen as a cost saving measure by Nazbol government leaders and it was stated to be as effective as any new artillery systems coming from other nations. Many troops and junior officers strongly disagreed with this. Many of the vehicle were already getting old and there were severe maintenance problems with the old vehicle. There was a proposal to design a new mobile artillery system based on the T-212 tank but the designers could not get permission to begin the project. It was seen by Government leaders that there were enough mobile artillery systems and there was no chance of needing supplemental mobile artillery. There was discussion of diverting funds from other projects but all projects were considered vital as well. Because these artillery vehicles were needed, they could not be put into reserve units like the T-80 Tank and had much more wear and tear. The Red Army had no choice but to use the 2S19. By the time the 2S268 is introduced, few of the 2S19 will be still operational and most of them will have been cannibalized from multiple vehicles.

Unlike most Nazbol Tanks in operation after the beginning of Socialist rebirth, the 2S19 used a diesel power plant. Most Soviet tanks used a Gas Turbine engine. The Self Propelled Artillery could reach about 60 kilometers per hour on roads and up to 25 kilometers per hour offroad. The normal range is around 500 kilometers. The vehicle does have complete NBC protection for the crew. The new armor replaces the old armor in some cases and in other cases is simply fitted externally. As a result, repairs can be very difficult to refitted vehicles and the old steel frames are often badly corroded and stressed.

The main armament of the 2S19 is a 152 mm cannon which is similar in capabilities to the American 155 mm artillery. It also formed the basis for the 152 mm cannon carried on many Naval vessels. The plans for designing a replacement vehicle based off the T-212 tank would most likely have mounted the same cannon. The cannon can fire both conventional rounds and special rocket propelled rounds for an extended range. Extended range rounds have a range up to around 40 kilometers. The cannon has a special autoloading system which allows up to eight rounds per minute to be fired until internal ammunition is exhausted. Rounds can be manually loaded through a special feed hopper in the rear of the vehicle. The original rocket propelled rounds developed for the cannon were too long to be loaded with the auto-loader system but later rocket propelled rounds were designed to fit the autoloading system. For defense against aircraft, originally a 12.7 mm machine-gun was fitted but this was later replaced by a 10 mm rail gun in most models.

Model Type: 2S19U4
Vehicle Type: Self Propelled Howitzer (Tracked)
Crew: Five (Driver, Gunner, 2 Loaders, and Commander).

Speed:
Ground: 37.3 mph (60 kph) maximum road speed; 15.5 mph (25 kph) maximum off-road speed. The vehicle is designed to traverse virtually all terrain and can climb at up to a 60% grade although at a much slower speed (About 10% of maximum road speed). It can also climb barriers and ford trenches. The vehicle can also handle side slopes of up to 30%.
Maximum Range: 310.7 miles (500 km)

Statistical Data:
Height: 9.78 feet (2.98 meters)
Width: 11.75 feet (3.58 meters)
Length: 39.04 feet (11.91 meters) with gun forward.
Weight: 46.3 tons (42 metric tons) combat loaded
Power Source: Diesel Engine.
Cargo Capacity: Minimal, enough for equipment with crew

Weapon Systems:
-152 mm Howitzer: Very powerful and long range weapon that is capable of 360 degree rotation. Unlike the American M109, the 2S19 does not have to plant before firing its howitzer. It fires standard artillery and is normally fired indirectly on the target but can be fired as direct fire if necessary. The cannon is loaded by a gunner so the gun fire will slow down eventually. While the cannon is original, it can use both non rocket assisted and rocket assisted rounds. The cannon has an automatic loader and can be loaded from the rear of the vehicle.
--Maximum Effective Range: 15.3 miles (13.2 nautical miles / 24.7 km) for standard projectiles, 24.9 miles (21.6 nautical miles / 40.0 km) for rocket propelled rounds.
--Rate of Fire: 8 rounds per minute (2 per melee) until internal ammunition is exhausted. Sustained rate of fire is 2 rounds per minute.
--Payload: 50 rounds in autoloader. Can be loaded from outside vehicle.

-Top Weapon Mount (1): The vehicle has a spindle to mount a weapon on the top of the turret which is normally controlled by the commander of the tank. The weapon is designed for use against troops assaulting the vehicle and against aircraft. Originally the weapon carried was the 12.7 millimeter NSV Machine-gun but the weapon can be replaced by a variety of different weapons.
--12.7 millimeter NSV Machine-gun: While the Nazbol military was able to replace the armor of the vehicle with stronger materials, initially there were no suitable weapons developed for the vehicle. The best that could be done was to develop new ammunition for the standard machine-gun. The weapon was soon found to be ineffective and was replaced by more powerful weapons.
---Maximum Effective Range: 3,000 feet (914.4 meters)
---Payload: 400 rounds (10 bursts).
--10 millimeter GSR-10 Heavy Railgun: The Nazbol military was unable to make an effective liquid propellant weapon and instead developed, some say stole, a rail gun design for their existing vehicles. It replaced the 12.7 mm machine-gun in most vehicles although some with the grenade launcher retained that weapon instead. The mount was redesigned so that it can be controlled from within the turret.
Maximum Effective Range: 4,920 feet (1,500 meters)
Payload: 800 rounds (40 bursts).

-Multi-Option "Shtora-8" Jammers (2): These are multi-purpose jamming devices designed to stop incoming missiles and confuse an enemy targeting the 2S19.
--Effect: Each firing launches two Chaff rockets, two Flare rockets, and the tank begins emitting a large cloud of smoke, both standard and Anti-Laser Prismatic aerosol ; The Chaff rockets detonate and spread Chaff over the area, the flare rockets floating down by parachute; Effects last for one minute. The Chaff rockets have a 20% chance of interfering with the course of enemy missiles each (40% total) that are radar guided so that they miss the tank. The flares have the same percentages, except with IR-guided missiles. The Anti-Laser prismatic aerosol reduces damage by half for any laser beam striking the tank (With the exception of X-ray lasers but not variable frequency lasers; X-Ray lasers suffer no damage modifiers, and variable frequency lasers simply cannot compensate for the variables involved), and adds a high difficulty to targeting the tank with a laser guidance system or visually.
Rate of Fire: Usually once every four minutes rounds; Effects are not cumulative.
Range: Around tank only; Rough distance of 80 ft (24 m) around tank.
Payload: Sufficient for ten firings; One of each type of jamming option from each side of the vehicle.

Sensors:

-Quadrant sight for long-range targeting of Sabot rounds: Greatly increases chance to hit to firing the long-range artillery rounds only, when the vehicle is not moving.
-Data-interlink transmitters: For using targeting data from scout vehicles for firing artillery rounds. Bonus varies on the quality of the data being provided, but all data would allow the tank to fire over obstacles if the scout vehicle is in the right position. The normal effective battlefield range is 5 miles (8 km).
Full Infrared viewing mode: range of 2 miles (3.2 km), with IR searchlight (+3 to detecting targets with IR when in use, however, +3 to detecting the 2S19U4 with IR equipment when in use, as well.).
-Two Periscopes: Has up to x100 magnification for commander and driver to view out of while maneuvering the vehicle. Visual targeting sight with same magnification possible for gunner.
-Laser targeting system for main gun: range of 2,000 meters.

Special Notes:
Tank is fully NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) protected, and all equipment is hardened against EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse).
