Othranarian Raids (Private)

The Othranar

The Sonjin system - Sonjin I:

Massive amounts of space shifted as the colossus re-entered normal space. Apparently, it was just floating there, dead in space. The blackness of its hull was blending in with the void around it but despite this, the ship was impossible for sensors to miss; the sheer size should show up easily on even the most primitive of sensors.

'Are my pods ready?' - Ling asked through the Othranarian consciousness.

'Yes my liege. We are simply waiting for your order.' - Slindra responded.

'Very well, erase this planet from existence and take its technology. It's time for a few upgrades around here.'

'Indeed my liege, dispatching pods now.'

The Othranar were here for one reason and one reason only: the furthering of the dominion. In order to do this, the Othranar would invade a planet, destroy its ships and slaughter its inhabitants. From there, technology would be collected and studied, and the world would be stripped from existence. It was a horribly brutal process the Othranar used, but they found it effective and didn't really care much for other sentient species.

Dread's massive bay opened and the flood of pods poured forth. Hundreds of millions of pods filled the space around the sparsely populated world, rapidly closing in on it intent on destruction.

Son jin 0800 Hours Universal Standard time…

The Union flag flew over a rather yellow/ white dirty dusty rather square building .. The wind flew over it like a soft hand caressing the desert and building, the dust flew up in to the air and went around and above the building..

There was a long high mental out cropping form the building it was dark brownish metal covered in dust like the rest of it …

The air was stale, radiation and ion storms had been sweeping around the area, kicking up dark dust rather than light dust.

Inside the building was busy, the white chrome interior, was well lighten by the lights inside, people rushed around from computer to computer, AI’s and machines doing most of the work..

One of the officers stood there his eyes panning the complex machine and almost humanoid like androids working, he watched other workers as his hands rested on his own computer panel.. he stood forth watching as his supervisor yelled “Tompson!” “Tompson!” “ what are you doing” in a loud grungy voice, Tompson responded and looked over quickly “Nothing sir .. just working here“

The supervisor said “Where not going to be able to get you out today, the storms are to bad , even cons and sensors are out, they haven’t installed any of those fancy things here yet”

Tompson frowned his lips dropping he sighed he was looking forward to getting out of this planet, his time as a miner was up he was only 25 sure, but he had better things waiting for him back on tarren prime … he growled a bit in his mind as platuides of family a wife and kids worn through him…

The planet was well unaware of the danger to it was blind and helpless the star guard was on Alert 4, near almost unprepared ….

'Interesting my liege. Dispite our massive presence, they don't seem to have mobilized their fleets yet.' - Slindra said, astounded.

'Keep on the alert. This might be some kind of trick.' - Ling said.

'Indeed.'

The Othranarian pods continued their advance on the planet, the space between rapidly dwindling away. Energy levels started to rise in each of the pods as the spatial-distortion cannons charged, readying for their deadly release of energy. While this was happening, every 'eye' in the Othranar was busily watching the surrounding space, looking for signs of an enemy response. It would be truely said that the Othranar were taking no chances.

Even so, the Othranar were rather confused; never before had a civilized world held back a response to the fleet so long. It was almost a dissapointment; the Othranar did so love the thrill of combat. Now very close to the planet itself, close enough for short-range sensors to register the prescence of the swarm, the Othranar were on edge, watching for any movement from the planet below or movements from any ships.
