Drop in oil prices

I don't know if this belongs on II but here goes.

You know, we've got to ditch the current price for oil. This is NS, everyone seems to be pumping out millions of barrels a day. With all the oil everyone on NS generates why don't we lower the price of oil to a reasonable amount? Or maybe the oil prices are too low? What would be an appropriate cost for oil

Because actually, even for all the oil you see produced, much, much more is used. The Multi-Billion Economic Powerhouse Nations would use up more oil than immaginable. Yes, yes of course you see lots of oil being made, and even these monsterous nations make a good deal, but no where near as much as the NS World consumes. Actually, if anything, the price of oil would be higher than in RL. But yea, dont be fooled by all these Oil Producing Nations/Companies... it's still a damn rare thing.

To think that our ancestors used to burn the stuff just to get rid of it.

A real life example... Look at the price of bottled water in the USA, compared to europe...

the planet is 80%+ water.. and a country with so much coastline, lakes and rivers... however much water is avalible.. prices will still be high, because the demand is there

In Canada, we have the most fresh and potable water in the world.

That and plastic costs, marketing, and the massive, MASSIVE profits that bottled water companies get. Compare to the price of tap water.

I think, that for at least some of the water, it actually costs more per gallon then gas.

Incidentally, like Kroando said. Yeah, there's a lot more supply, but there's also a lot more demand. Gives me an idea for an interesting RP, but that would require another puppet which I don't feel like making right now. Maybe later.

You mind if it ends up getting invaded? That's probably what's gonna happen...

Well the real-life cost of oil is about $78 a barrell. So I think in nationstates with lost of nations drilling for oil(myself included) I say the cost should be about $50 a barrell. What we should do is set up a nationstates oil organisation like OPEC.
