This is the Sign Up/OOC for 'There Were Lakes of Oil', please post all OOC here so as to keep the IC thread for... well, IC stuff. First off id just like to say I hope you enjoy the RP, I think it will turn out quite interesting. First there are some simple rules/guidelines that need to be read.

Rules - Only one OOC General Rule.
-No godmodding. Go's without saying but... of course I need to say it. Do not control other players characters, nor NPC's without permission. If it is a natural logical response, go ahead. We all know what can slide and what cant, so please, keep it clean.

Guidelines
-Minimalist. If you are getting involved, youre after oil. Youre heading for an undiscovered continent on our Juptirer Sized NS World. Nobody knows where it is, besides those stated. And if you plan on getting this oil, you want to keep it this way. If a nation picks up info on this reserve, and summons a million men to go occupy it, guess what. Every nation in the world with an energy problem now knows that some shit is going down, and you're shit out of luck. You're expiditionary forces should be small, less than ten thousand. Tanks, aircraft and big things in general should be kept low. Nobody wants a massive World War over this, and if you do, im sorry, go away.
-No WMD's. Of course if you're trying to stop the world from knowing about it, you shouldnt be nuking it.
-Detail. You're RPing with smaller numbers, so you should be able to go into depth about what exactly your men are doing, when and how. Good RP, no two line 'I land. I drill for oil. Oil gone. Im rich.'.
-Intro. You still need to find out about this oil. Be creative. The only peoples with knoledge of its location reside, temporarily in Talifax... a very interesting city.

OOC: The Heart of Armaggeddon(which is a illegal military/terrorist organisation) is always on the lookout on ways to make money. In other words, I am in, plus, the place you described in the IC thread looks like a good place to kidnap people and process them into Meatpuppets.

Toopoxia might like to get involved, pending, MT or PMT and also is it alright if the fellow members of my alliance (Corporate Alliance) join in? They might do so anyway i'm just saying that we'll all likely be working on the same side on this so just a heads up really...

This is all MT, of course 'home-made tech' is also allowed, so it's a bit leniant on on the MTishness.

According to it's history (not part of the RP), the Helicon Corporation once killed off one fourth (30-40 Million) of it's population just to test a new chemical weapon. The Weapon was deemed a failure and scrapped. Talifax is a pretty much a lawless shit hole, from where most of the RP will originate.

Looks good. I will write up an IC Post of people whom you can RP interrogating/torturing/etc. for the information on the island. Or if you'd like, you can drop a spy in on the 'discussion' already going on between the Helicon Corporation and Mr. Jenks.

I posted, two agents looking for customers picked up your little interrogation and are going to try to jack Jenks...however, if you don't want intereference in that I can just as easily change it to something else.

Mind if I join in? I'd be using the Chimeras, an Otagian merc company. Rather loyal, so they're pretty much representing Pale Rider Arms here. I'll probably have their CO sitting in on the convo, as he enjoys vacationing in places such as Talifax.

Also, now I understand if you dont want this, but those affiliated with The Infinite Crucible would actually be semi inclined to destroy the oil should it become evident that it is not going to be easily acquired. This is due to the fact that The Infinite Crucible exports a good deal of oil, and an increase in supply means lower prices, and they dont want lower prices. However, I can understand an objection to a purely destructive goal.

Edit: Would Mc'Arnold's prison system possibly have a Priest or any other holy figure. Also, my Priests are hardly traditional so that may increase the chances.

As to Scamps, he is being packed away in a cargo crate aboard a large transport ship. The vessel is still docked off of Talifax.

My goal here is realism and freedom. If you want to burn the oil out of existance, feel free. However I really doubt you can destroy all of this oil quietly, as there is... alot of it. Why would you want to do it quietly? Make too much noise, and there are thousands of countries moving in, attempting to stop you and take a piece of the pie... even worse for gas prices. Oil fires can be put out... and burning up the amount of oil I imagine this place as having is simply... impracticable. Of course you can try, and if you suceed more power to you... but there will be a good deal of both natural and man made obstacles in your path.

Probably not. It is very unlikely you would find a priest or any holy figure in the entire city... but could one get in? Well, this is the most corrupt, filthy city in the world... Mc'Arnold is a business man using abducted slave labor to mine iron ore and coal underneath the city... of course he will not supply a priest, but if one was to pay him to enter, he would accept... not sure why a random priest would do that... but then again, im not sure why a priest would be in Talifax in the first place.

It might be fine for a character RP in which everyone involved is like that, but in an RP where it is supposed to be very realistic... that just won't fly. It is fine to say he is a great fighter, just don't back it up like that...

And I'm wondering if I could pull a little thing and already have a little shop set up in town. Perhaps even a mini storefront for people in the area, controlled by the Mafia.
