The Iroquois became the only Native American group to live independently. They beat back Europeans and founded an Empire for themselves. They kept their ways and language still, as they beat back the Europeans. They did make treaties with Europeans though and got guns, horses and other things. However, they kept their old ways still.
The Iroquois continued through into the Era of Confederation, when Canada became a Dominion. They were surrounded by Canadians but lived in peace with them, as with the Americans. The Iroquois kept a land economy, that is, farming, etc as their ancestors had done before them.
The Iroquois continue on today, still with their old ways. How will the Iroquois Empire continue in the 21st Century?
