Hello all,

I had previously made one of these rp's before, it was great but died out after awhile..therefore i would like to start another now. The last one was in germany during the last few months of the war, now im open to ideas to when we will base this one..afew ideas i have are,

The Siegfried line
Normandy invasion-Which would later lead into the heavy combat all over France
Holland
Italy
North Africa
Stalingrad
Kursk
I know this WWII sqaud based Rp stirs up alot of interest and i want to see it get off the ground sucessfully once again.

EACH person controls a squad of up to 8 men....if you want you can just be a loner..like a sniper or a soldier seperated from a squad..

I say D-DAy becuase so many squads of the 101 were sent in the night before behind enemy lines. Also, many of them got seperated so that's why I wanna do that...

It'll be tough to do Holland too, because that was all airborne units. well the majority were. But I like the idea of fighting across France, I guess we could change history, and I could be on the front lines more then E Company actually was during WWII...

Yes , your squad is good...i have noticed the majority of them are snipers aswell, there will be alot of close combat and i can't promise they will survive long with a side arm...

Or the 506th Really Drunk. If I recally correctly the 506th didn't join the 101st Airborne until later on in the war. I'm jumping over St. Mere Glese (spelling?) Causeways 1 and 2 are my objectives on Utah beach. :)

Yes, St Mere Eglise is a good close by drop zone for your guy..my troops will not be stationed far away from that position, they will be near a radar station during the night so encountering 101 airborne troops will be sure to happen..

But no one will know the allies full intentions , we(the germans) are still thinking the invasion is comming at Caen....

Some German help is welcomed, i will be playing some of the Whermacht aswell here and there yes.

I'm interested. Will it be D-Day? Or D-day+1 or some such? I'm interested in doing Americans as long as I don't get left behind...

The vast majority of troops carried the standard issue rifle (M1 Garand for the Amis and Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. I for the Brits). I have no clue what the Perth Rifle is.

Australians went in with the British and Canadians. I'm not sure which beach but it was either Gold, Juno, or Sword. And if they are paratroopers they aredropping behind those beaches to secure the causeways and surronding towns and roads and bridges and the such.

Why would anyone want to drown inside a Sherman Tank?

Tanks didn't make it on the beach at omaha untill dog one was cleared, that was after they sustained heavy losses..they couldn't manage to clear the defences enabling armor to give them support fire.

What do you mean? They rigged the Shermans to float for the DDay landings...

My boys are leg infantry. 4th Infantry Division, coming ashore at Utah. Although I could change them to Paras to make it a bit easier.

Nonexistent, as far as I know.

Now, Maldorians.....an objective...umm, blow up a radio station..i'll Rp the Whermacht troops who guard it, then you can link up with others in the morning...then it should be pretty straight foward after that

Rp your approach..lets say near....well ..how deep do you want to be behind enemy lines, do you still want to be able to hook up with other units? or kind of a solo deal goin on..

Which i might add you will encounter MANY difficulties like Tiger tanks, panzer tanks galore...hunderds of German infantry, halftracks....aircraft...what have you..

Actually, the Luftwaffe had virtually no effect on the D-Day landings due to massive Allied air superiority...So if anything, you guys should be looking out for Allied aircraft. ;)

If you have paint or photoshop or something. Open the map and right click on and choose save as. Save it under "My Pictures". Then open it under which ever program you choose and you can zoom in on it.

A tank platoon is 4 tanks. If you want a platoon, you got 4 tanks!

I suggest getting a Tiger I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_I) (or Tiger II (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_II)for that matter), one Panther (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_V) and two Panzer IV's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_IV)

Huh, one of my relatives fought in the battle of Meuse Argonne....

shot 9 times, gassed twice, captured 30 German soldiers by himself, and won every medal except the Medal of Honor twice or more. (Never won the Medal of Honor)

Mine were all infantry, Marines, or Navy Cooks (Imagine that...). In World War Two, they were all infantry, Armor Commanders (General Patton is my cousin) or Navy cooks. In Korea, all Infantry, two died, the other of the three shot in the head by a 50 caliber machine gun and lived (Without brain damage...how the hell it happened is a mystery), in Vietnam one was a doctor, one was an F-15 squadron commander (First combat F-15 squadron was his command. Bloke retired a Brigadier General). :) I've had relatives in every American war.

Sad, I know :( I rather do my job to serve my country as a politician with the ultimate goal of being President, and then techinacally I am in the military. I'm Comander-in-Chief ;)

Trust me, there is no shame in that. Hell, I am scared to death. I'll only admit it to you guys, since you all don't know me face to face. But I have nightmares of Iraq. Why do I choose to join? Because it's the only job I can see myself doing, and enjoying. I like the thought that I'm doing something truly worth while, not sitting around on my ass helping some asshole get another mansion or yacht. I couldn't do that. In the Military, I feel I have a purpose. That might just be a young man's dream of glory and excitement, I don't know. But it's my choice, and it's what I'm choosing to do.

Yeah, i'm a sophomore too. I'm going to apply for them next year. My school starts us early as far as choosing colleges. Its a good idea to have a college in mind, so you have a goal to shoot for. It makes working alot easier. You want to be a politician? Go to UK (University of Kentucky if you're an American), they have a great Political Science program. My dad went there, and so did my Grandpa.

Umm Cussy seems to be faaar away from where the action is taking place...i would suggest you look at the map on the first page..also the map on page 12.... i am near Vierville heading towards that Villa, Ste Mere Du Mont is also close by to where the action will be taking place...it seems we all have gathered around the Utah area...

You could just rp Cussy as a different village...one closer, therefore when you deal with the resistance there you can move on...
