A European Union

The European Union was established, as the USE (United States of Europe). It feuded with the Warsaw Pact states, who joined the USE when the Soviet system fell like 1929's Wall Street.
The European Union was established by the founders of the European Coal and Steel Company which merged them into one state. Later, nations who joined were merged into the USE/EU. The Treaty of Rome was signed which consolidated this.
The European Union was planned to be led by a central government. Democracy would be planned on. From the beginning, Unionists held power, seeking to retain the Union.
By 1990, all of Europe joined in the USE. The USE made all languages of Europe (the head ones like French, etc) offical and Christianity (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Anglican) made offical. Islam as well. There was still a Vatican, the only independent state in Europe. Malta, Monaco, Andorra and San Marino joined the USE/EU.
The USE/EU has been in ok relations with the US and with the old Soviet Bloc. The USE had a central command, from the capital of London. From there, the USE/EU Military for example would be headed. The USE/EU also respected the monarchies of lands like Spain, Britain and Monaco, giving them full rights and citizenship.
The Euro is the main currency of the USE/EU. London was declared capital due to a vote held in which people chose London to be the capital. The USE/EU composes of all Europe, except the Vatican, led by the Pope of Rome (Rome and all Italy is with the USE/EU).
The USE/EU is led today by a man known as Ivan Volganov. Volganov has planned for the continuation of the USE/EU. Volganov is known to be able to speak most of the languages of his nation.
The USE/EU believes in neutrality, so it is neutral in world conflicts. It does have a well kept military, currently headed by Minister of Defense, Jean Verdoux.
