Here's is my idea, we have an RP where every nation RP's a "prince" of a principality, where alliances are made and broken, with lots of war and backstabbing. Only problem is, I don' know whether they should be real states, or made-up ones. Well, vote on the poll! IC thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=491026).

I think a RP where all the participants are equally sized would be cool. Instead of having the bigger, richer nations dominate, diplomacy and alliances would be important.

Understand everyone, this would of course take place during the Itallian Renaissance.

IF it was historical, I'd probably be Ercole d'Este I (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ercole_d%27Este_I), duke of Ferrara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrara). The RP will probably take place in 1500 to start with, and progress from there. Any comments, or objections to that time to start with?

Okay, in Machiavellian politics the Pope held a great deal of power. So, the question is, who is the pope? My initial idea was a vote for what the Pope did, but that would take too long. Then, I thought, maybe people oughtta take turns being the Pope, but we'd have him changing his desicions back-and-forth over and over again. So, I thought, maybe I should run the Pope, but then I wouldn't really get the part I wanted in my own RP. Any ideas?

Possibly, they need to be a good RP'er though, because the "Grand Pontiff" is vital.

The RP will officially start at Midnight, the NS clock.

Also, can we have a map? This is the type of thing where getting permission from one person can be vital to have your people march across their land on another enemy, etc...

Yeah. Miltary units are auxileries, nationals, and mercenaries. Have a reasonable force, mercenaries fight just like nationals, but plunder at will, and can be lazy. Auxileries are just noobs.

Not that they'll do what you say, history is full of wars with the Pope. You do, however have reputation, prestige, and force to back it up.

Neither so I, who cares. At the worst, you'll have to do some searches. Just, we kiss your feet, or ring, or whatever, you bless a coronation here, and invade a country there. If a Borgia could be a Pope, so can you!
