Aighty, I've had this longing for a survival horror-style RP for a long time now, and now I finally have the drive to actually start a thread about it.

So, at the moment, I'm just trying to find people who are interested in doing a survival horror RP. I'll come out with a better thought out story in a little while.

What I really want to do is a Resident Evil 1 style of story, with most people as SWAT cops or civilians caught up in the action, and others as company men (i.e. Wesker, without the stupid "JILL! Don't OPEN that DOOR!!!" lines.)

Yeah, this idea thread is pretty much FUBARed, unless someone can think of a compelling story (emphasis on COMPELLING) that involves a couple of soldiers, a drug dealer, a mercenary, a civie, and a mountie (I think. Maybe it's just a Canadian cop, which just conjures images of mounties for me), then I am all ears.

But, I have an idea, which I assume that everyone is going to hate, or fucking IGNORE, because that's the way things have been going here... (calm down, Mike, calm down...)

OK, if anyone would like to play an RP as a cop or civilian, please stand to the right (or, make a post with a character staying that you would, and possibly put up a character, or re-post on of the ones above that apply to those two categories, like Kirisubo's (sp?))

Now, one of the main complaints I got from this was that making people sign up to be civies or cops is restrictive, but it ISN'T. Your character is YOURS, and, in the immortal words of Tyler Durden, "You are not your job." (well, something like that.) Seriously, a huge range of people fall under either of these categories (especially civilian, which allows huge flexibility and space for character development).

The reason I am doing this is because it will be easier for me to make a cohesive story with you folks RPing as relatively normal people (well, I guess no one's normal, but, hey.). Also, I like to root for the underdog, not superheroes or SpecWar mercenaries.

Any takers at all?

Well, I HAVE written stuff, too. (I've only ever put one story up on the ole Interweb. It's a mediocre Starcraft story, but some people seem to like it. You can find it here (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2756004/1/), if you're interested.)
But you're missing the point. I really don't want to narrate a story that involves a couple of soldiers, a drug dealer, a mercenary, a civie, and a mountie, 'cause that's freakin' ridiculous. I would like to narrate a story about somewhat normal people in a desperate situation, if at all possible, because that's much more compelling than mercs and soldiers with assault rifles and SAWs. Capiche?

Here is an idea I proposed to Blackhelm for his thread, but he already had one and because I like this idea I am trying to get it rped by a number of people.

I am willing to rp that the base was controlled by the Dark Eternals (name explains itself) and they used the base to create superior soldiers out of the gene polls on Earth. Basically, the Dark Eternals would have taken a number of specimens from the most evolved species on the planet in order to create soldiers those possessed a level of intellect that would allow them to handle simple weapons and be obedient to their Dark Eternal masters. What they would generally do the captured specimens was that they would alter their genetics and/or rapidly evolve them in closed spaces.

These experimentally specimens were later put into contained in storage tanks and use their genes to create clones that be put thru further genetic theory and evolution until they reached the perfect states and when they did the Eternals stored the perfect specimens in storage containers and took a large amount of their genetic material in order to create clone armies of them. With their experiments done at the base they left it and wiped out all files on the technologies used and where they had taken the genetic material, but they left all their creations in their storage tanks. Yet, they did release a number of their specimens back onto Earth where they became the sources of many of the monsters legends including the Yeti, Vampires, Centaur, Cremira, and a many different legends across the world.

Generally, the monsters will still vary hugely in appearance due to the sheer number of different experiments the Dark Eternals performed on them. Also, the Dark Eternals did leave the base operational and nearly all of their creations are either still in their storage tanks or have been released into the base. Yet, before the Dark Eternals did leave the information about how to operate the base and on the evolution of the monster in the form of information on their external and internal changes after each experiment, sadly they did not leave any of their weapons behind and information of the different specimens individual weaknesses.

Overall, feel free to stumble across the base anywhere on Earth and the beings you encounter will be basically mutant humans altered beyond their old forms by the Dark Eternals.

If the Scandanavians story is not accepted, then here's one I did come up with before (One of my buddies is a huge Dawn of the Dead fan. I had to write a narrative about it, which he loved)

The city of New York has been overrun by Zombies. The United States Military, which brought in the 3rd Infantry Division to safeguard the extraction of civillians, has managed to gather the survivors into a long truck and APC convoy, which will take them to safe areas, which haven't yet fallen. However, as the convoy rolls along, they are ambushed by a horde of thousands of the undead. Seeing the Army lines crumble, the civillians flee. A small number see a group of soldiers fleeing as their squad was eliminated, follow in their direction. This small number are the civillian players. The fleeing soldiers are the military players. The Mercenary can RP being hired by someone to move into the city, and extract a rich man's son, who is somewhere within the city. The Canadian is a relief trooper, assisting the Americans in extracting their population center. From there, the RP continues however the people want it to.

Thank you, but even though I have the rest stored on my computer, I type stories in my free time, but if I do not find them I will use my memory to type them anew. What I posted was basically just my quickly typed background info to my story. The rest of my story shall posted with forty minutes.

The base can discovered in any isolated, inaccessible by regular means, area and it can be discovered in an excavation or using any deep underground reading device then you can only access it by uncovering the teleportation device that links to the surface, find the remains of the tunnel that lead to the hangar area, or dig deep down and find an entrance into the structure. There you enter the building to find that the technology is far beyond anything that humanity has even dreamed of or hoped for, but all the instruction on designs, the materials that they were built by, and the only that they left was how to activate the facility and how to open the doors. As well, the people when the enter the compound they may find the remains of a few of the mutants that escaped there storage tanks, but the vast majority of the mutants are still waiting for the facility to be activated which allow the mutants to be released and the fun begins….

From there the mutants are released and begin the slow attack on the humans inside the compound, but feel free to rp anything on you the humans before this.

Really, the base if rather complex containing many levels and housing untold number of altered creatures. As well, to act as a kind of experiment every storage tank is rigged to open based on a number of computers that monitor the fighting and how many of the creatures need to be released to counter the human presence in the base.

As for the deserted base story, we're already doing that, or something like it, in BC/GC's thread. My original idea for the story was for a group of lightly armed, regular people to live through a zombie outbreak/epidemic in a city, and eventually fighting BOWs and company men as the story goes on, and eventually escaping the city.

I don't want mercenaries or soldiers in the city, because then there's no threat or conflict. After a few engagements go bad, soldiers will learn to go for headshots, rather than center of mass, and that if someone gets bitten you have to kill them. A mercenary would probably know this beforehand. The weaponry that a US rifleman, or a well-paid mercenary goes into battle with is vastly superior to anything that a zombie apocalypse/the Umbrella Corporation (or, whatever) can throw at them.

To Toopoxia/Griffencrest: If we get a decent number of people, it'd be cool if you RPed company men (e.g. Albert Wesker). I didn't originally want PKing, but I trust you two know what you're doing.

He has a gun because his ex-boyfriend has been stalking him and he has filed for a gun permit...because his boyfriend has a criminal record.

What are you talking about man? Lipstick was da stuff in the early 90s. You know, with all those crazy rock bands like Kiss wearing their make-up and whatnot. Besides, he works for the county hospital. o: if he gets fired for that he can sue for discrimination in the work force...and if he does get fired and has trouble finding a job it won't really matter because the whole word is going to be thrown into chaos in a few days. :cool:

I was watching some of those Chechnya War footage you sent me. And playing an intense match of Dawn of War (Yay!). This guy was playing as the Imperial Guard, and I smashed him with a blood thirster and a few chaos space marine squads, some Chaos Predator tanks, and a Chaos Lord/Sorceror. It was bad ass
