What looks like a derelict ship floats through space. No life seems to be detected on the ship. Every once in a while it will show some sign of life by having a speed burst but then even that will die out. The ship looks as if it is splotched as if infected with a virus. The ship starts to slowly turn after a carrier comes into its view

The FSN Far Reach drifted serenly through space. It's compliment of fighters sitting dormant. Sensors were constantly scanning the surrounding space.
On the command deck, Captain Derek Curanri watched the sensor readings come in. This was a dead zone, and he had no idea why he was stationed here. Finally something happened. Sensors reported a derelict.
"This is Captain Curanri to all hands, suit up, we got recon to do. I want 5 teams on that ship, searching it for information."
He watched as the 5 shuttles disembarked from the Reach and headed towards the derelict.
"Ensign, what kind of ship is that? It looks rudimentary, and bears no markings. Those look like basic Combustion drives, and those weapons. Archaic. I wonder who that ship used to belong to?"
"No clue Cap, maybe our boys can find out."

The derelict looking ship put on one of its speed bursts when the shuttles departed from the carrier. The speed burst then instantly died out as soon as it started. The engines quite working soon after that and the derelict started to float freely in space.

"Docking initialized." the first shuttle captain reported.
"Alpha Team boarding." the legionairres reported next.
As the airlock door hissed open, a wave of decay swept over the Legionairres.
"Fuck, smells like a fart died in here. Looks like any other derelict though." Alpha leader reported.
"Wait, what the hell is that? It looks like the ship is...infected...with something." a Legionairre shuddered.
"Alpha through Foxtrot, pull back. Wait for futher instructions, return to ship." Captain Curanri came over the comm.

The noise of the docking roused some of the occupants of the derelict. One such occupant went towards the noise and saw some strange beings that brought some old memories to surface but a small voice in its head gently pushed the memories back down. The humanoid slowly progressed foward. Its pallor was that of a man dying of lepresy in the early stages. The humanoid slowly raised one of its hands as if to stop the beings that had boarded the ship

Bravo Team
"What the hell is that thing?" one of the Bravo members intoned as he stumbled away from it.
"Fire!" Bravo leader said as he opened fire.
All five members of Bravo team emptied their entire clips into the creature.
"Bravo team reporting contact. Fall back to ship NOW" Bravo leader commed.
The five shuttles quickly returned to the Reach.

When the shuttles got back to the carrier who ever had looked back could see the derelict shaking as if in sadness. The ship started moving again but this time there didn't look as if there was a purpose to its movements. It was just going around in circles that slowly got smaller and smaller until the engines finally died out again. What looked like a small shuttle jettisioned from the derelict making its way slowly out into the void of space
