Background

According to the Christian bible, the War in Heaven ended with Lucifer being forever banished to Hell, and all evil souls with him. Purgatory is the dwelling place for people who seek redemption for their sins, and attempt to redeem themselves to God. What if the War in Heaven resumed, Satan using armies of vile demons and corrupted humans to fight against the men which God assembles to throw against them, in Satan's desire to ultimately rule as God.

The war is not going well for the Men of Heaven. They have been driven back to the golden gate, which leads to the fabled stair way to Heaven; A Golden portal which leads directly into Heaven. They have constructed an intricate trench system to defend the gate, in the hopes of either defending it forever, indeffinatley, or making a breakthrough, and taking Purgatory back for God, and end a conflict which has lasted for millenia.


Story


You have just died, and have arrived at the Gates of Heaven, where St. Peter gives you a choice: Fight for Heaven, and become one of billions fighting in the trenches in Purgatory, or fight for Satan, and become among his legions of chaotic warriors. It is your choice.

to register a character, put your name, a discription of yourself, and history of your life. When I feel we have enough people, I will commence the RP. Age is unnecessary, since everyone will start at age 18.

The way the story progresses from my description is up to you all. That is obviously the purpose of RPing ;)

History: Timothy grew up normally. He was a computer nerd, hanging out on forums until he was 17. Then one day, he went out and partied. He died when he went drunk driving. (I don't feel like thinking much up. :P)

In Heaven, he chose to side with God and fight in the trenches.

Yeah, I was thinking vietnam era weapons, fighting the hordes of demons and Satanic cultists.

As for the trenches, imagine the way an advanced trench made today would look, (i.e made of concrete, firing steps, concrete bunkers, etc)

I'd like to have about three people, not including myself, before beginning, though if noone else decides to sign up today, I'll give an IC later. (Even though it might be a tad lame)

God does not play dice with the universe: He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

Yeah, thats why I almost didn't do the whole RP, i'm just saying that he isn't/can't/whatever. lol....I guess it's the same reason he doesn't stop wars on earth. He's choosing not to ;)

Yeah, I guess so. As long as the guns are golden.

I guess it's true. Even when/if they reach God they likely wouldn't be able to do much to him.
