An Exercise in Futility

OOC: This is my first real FT nation and FT RP so your comments and participation are welcome. The basic premise is one of the Dominion's defense stations is attacked by the Rhithin, a people with whom they have had strained relaions with lately. The forces there are trying to hold back the tide until the fleet arrives but are unable to do so.
***Aboard the space staion Ackmard***
"Sir!" called out an ensign from one of the consoles, "Multiple targets are reverting to realspace just inside sensor range! They appaer to be Rhithin in origen!"
"Again?" asked the officer, "That's the third time this week. They must really enjoy these little staring matches."
"I think they're trying to make us blink, sir. There's close to ten times as many as before, and they're deploying fighters."
"What!? All hands to battle stations! Have the corvettes and frigate disembark and advance to engage the enemy. Scramble our fighters but leave the bombers in the hangers until their capital ships come in closer. Ready the assult troops in case they get close enough. Send a message off to command." A chorus of affirmations rang out around the control room as alarms and sirens began to blare throughout the installation.
As the larger ships detatched themselves from the station and lumbered towards the enemy fleet, the station began to disgorge fighters, which formed up in a shiny screen between the enemy and the staion itself.
Commanding the stations fighter wing was Coravel Lydre, whose callsign was Graywolf. "Alright, kids. Form up, we're gonna have a lot on our plates in a minute. Don't leave your wingman and don't do anything stupid and you'll be alright. They outnumber us by alot but we're better pilots. We need to eliminate as many of the enemy as humanly possible. Bombers are priority targets, but fighters are targets of oppurtunity, we'll have to escort our bombers once their cappies come in closer, so make your shots count."
Sitting in his cockpit in the hanger was Vorhad Argonth, whose callsign was Bowman. He would be leading the few bombers on the station. He punched up the wing frequency. "Graywolf, this is Bowman. Private channel, please." A moment later his comm unit popped.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing yet, but it looks like it's about to get messy. What do you think are our chances?"
"Not good. I'm anticipating we'll lose most of our guys in the first five minutes or so, most of these kids are green."
Vorhad nodded, most kills in dogfights occurred in the first two minutes of combat, Coravel was being generous. His comm unit popped again and Coravel spoke over the open channel "Alright, kids. It's time to move out." And then the mass of fighters advanced to intercept the enemy.
***HALF AN HOUR LATER***
The officer coughed in the smoke as the station was rocked again. "What's our status?"
The ensign looked up from his screen. "Not good, sir."
"I'm aware of that, now give me specifics."
"The corvettes are effectively hulks that can only make a feeble attempt to defend themselves from enemy fighters, they're being ignored by the capital ships. The frigate is a drifting charnelhouse and we've lost sixty percent of our fighters along with close to seventy percent of the stations defenses."
The officer rubbed a hand over his face. "The fleet will be here soon, ensign. For now, deploy the bombers and have them attack the closest target."
"Yes, sir. Bowman, Your group is clear for launch. You're first target is the cruiserdirectly in line with the hanger."
It's about time thought Vorhad. he was tired of watching. "OK, form up on me." As the bombers left the hanger, another salvo slammed into the station. Vorhad shook his head as he attempted to lead his bombers through the roiling cloud of death-dueling fighters.
Back in the control room, the ensign called out "More Rhithin ships, sir! It looks like a whole other fleet!" Then the station rocked and his console exploded in his face. The officer turned to another ensign who was staring dumbstruck.
"Get ahold of yourself, man. It seems the fleet won't get here in time. Launch the assault troops to buy some time and send out a distress signal before they grow enough brains to jam us."
"Send a signal to who, sir?"
"Anybody whose listening. Just broadcast it on all open channels except the ones our we're using right now."
"Yessir!"
And so a distress signal was sent out in all directions: SOS SOS This is the defense station Ackmard roughly forty five minutes ago we were attacked by the Rhithin. We were severly outnumbered to begin with and have been effectively decimated. Our own relief fores won't make it in time, we cant last much longer. SOS SOS
As the signal went out the assult troops left theh station. They consisted of a few hundred space model Pantheras. They immediately began to engage any target in range. However, really all they succeeded in doing was put out a large volume of fire without hitting very much. They weren't made to shoot down fast moving and manueverable targets like fighters, but they could hit bombers and even egage the weapons banks or batteries on capital ships provided they could get in range without being destroyed. A seemingly endless stream of ships were arriving and it was clear that this was the beginning of a planned offensive. At this point there were easily a hundred and showed no sign of stopping, it seemed the Rhithin intended to use the area as a staging point.
Another salvo rocked the station, a direct hit on the control room; a small chunk of the station drifted free and the left half of the staion went dark as it lost power. Only sporadic fire from the starboard batteries lanced out now. As the assault troops started to accrue a staggering amount of casulties, it was quickly becoming clear that resisting had fast become an exercise in futility.
OOC: Welcome to FT.
IC: A great White anamoly opened up. From out of it came a great white ship tht looked like a Whale, as well as several smaller ships that looked like octopi.
"We have recieved your call, we have come to aid you. We ae the Aquamarinians of Ri-an." Came the reply transmission.
The Whale stayed put, but the octopi moved. There were five of them, and they moved to the station, and surrounded it. They extended their tenticles until the station was covered in a ball, and then encased it, and themselves in a large sheild of Dark Matter.
Then the whale moved to the offending fleet. Its energy levels began to rise as it warmed up its weapons. It simply put up a reguler energy shield.
OOC: A Dark Matter Shield is the strongest kind I have. Its like using the Great Wall of China to stop a bullet.
The main point is, I'm protecting your station, while beginning to aid your troops.

OOC: Thank you.
IC: If he had been anywhere else but in combat, Coravel would have been staring openmouthed. But he was a little preoccupied at the moment. Keying his comm he replied "This is Graywolf, I find myself to be the ranking officer so I thank you for your aid. Transmitting IFF data now. It's a good thing somebody showed up, we're down to about thirty percent total combat strength right now." He switched back to the wing frequency, "First group, continue to engage enemy fighters, second group escort our bombers, third group form a screen for the cappie. Assault troops, fall back to the station and assist in anti-snubfighter combat; you'll be less vulnerable back there. Message to Ackmard station: Deploy some rescue craft and see if there are any survivors on the corvettes."

"This is Graywolf, that's affirmative, Avenger. Feeding IFF info to you now." He pulled out of an imouman right in to a split s and corkscrewed behind the tail of his next target.
Meanwhile, Vorhad's group had reached their next target. Flying a mere dozen feet off the hull, they began to drop ordnance. One of the bombers had dropped to low and was caught in the explosion of his own dropped ordnance. As they left, the ship was being consumed by fire. Then their formation was pounced on by enemy fighters, losing several escorts in the first few seconds of the ambush.
OOC: I have standerd FT weaponry, but I also have a few specialties.
An Aquamarinian is a Psionic creature by nature. I have developed this to my advantage. Keep this in mind.
IC:
The Whale took a moment to discern enemy from foe, and then took an evasive flight pattern.
It opened up its Phasers on 5 of the largest enemy vessals.
When craft left the station, wholes opened up in the Solid dark matter shields to let them pass, and they were also marked with a passive Psionic ID to allow them back through the shields.

OOC: Spiffy niftyness. I'm curious as to whether or not I can fire out of the shield. Also, um...exactly how large is your "whale"?
IC: The assault troops passed through the shield as the rescue craft left. The enemy was finally starting to react to the new arrivals. Several of the enemy ships opened fire on the star destroyer, one even giving a full broadside. Several more opened up on the whale-shaped craft and a large chunk of the enemy fleet continued to fire on the station. As the bombing group left another stricken capital ship, they were now devoid of any escorts. The fighter screen deployed in front of the whale was mostly intact, but the group continuing to dogfight had taken heavy losses, and they were the most experienced pilots Coravel had at hand. On a brighter note, the stream of arriving ships had slowed to a trickle, but there were still a roughly a hundred and thirty or so left. Coravel could only shake his head and hope the relief fleet would arrive soon.

On board his command ship, the Novindus, Admiral Iorek Byrnison paced the bridge impatiently. He could only hope the message had been a false alarm. If it had been real, he could only imagine the damage. If it had been real, not only would he have been too late, but a there would be hole in the defense line and an easy path to the home system of Arcadeos. It had to be a false alarm, otherwise, Ackmard station would have long since been destroyed along with its entire force compliment.
"Sir, we'll revert to realspace in a few minutes."
"Good, good." All he could now was continue to wait. And to hope.
OOC: Spiffy niftyness. I'm curious as to whether or not I can fire out of the shield. Also, um...exactly how large is your "whale"?
OOC:
Remember from the Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, that Gigantic Cylinder that was evaporating the Earth's Oceans? About that big. Mostly due to Armor and enhancements, though its insides can be removed and used as a Box to carry large things in. It all depends on its purpose, now its a heavuily sheilded ship with some powerful lasers.
And, you can, but the power of all shots is reduced to 25% of normal effeciency, unless you contact me ICly to code the sheilds and your weapons to the same frequency so that your weapons can sail on through.

IC: This isn't good, pretty soon we're going to be running out of fuel thought Coravel as he pulled another crazy manuever out of his bag of tricks. Then he saw what he had been waiting for.
***ABOARD THE NOVINDUS***
"-3, 2, 1, reversion!"
"Dear god." murmured Iorek, "There's alot of them out there." He shook himself, "Orders to the fleet, engage at once. The Seizure, Tanager, Raven, Geofon, Thiassi, Thaisch, Fenris, Kolga, Lazuli, Herne, Raz, and Griz are to assist the star destroyer."
"Yes, Admiral!"
"The Wardog, Scinfa, Rinfa, and Mobius are to assist the fighters."
"Aye aye, sir!"
"The Thor, Odin, Skadi, Loki, and Hel are to hang back and deploy all snubfighters. The Cyclopes is to hang back and provide intelligence."
"Right away, Admiral!"
"The Principe, Hastati, Praetorian, and Legio are to go to the station. The Nickolai, Christoph, Delphinus, Hunter, Knight, Blade, and Zerker are to assist the Whale."
"Yes, sir!"
"The Purity is to hang back and take in wounded. The Indomitable, Aegis, Anvil, Hammer, Mauler, Vindicator, Alma, Korin, Draken, Dragoon, Lodaka, Valheru, Virtuous, Righteous, Expeditious, and the Novindus are to advance and take on the bulk of the enemy fleet."
"Very good sir, advancing now."
The Octopi ships scanned the newcomeing ships. The read as being similar to the station. So they did not break to attack.
They turned their attention to the Stations systems.
"We see your station is in need of repairs. We will assist you, and adjust your weapons to our shields." They said as though the matter was already resolved.
They choose a wide open area to send a single representative to.
They were sure the people on the station would be expecting a human being, but they would be several disapointed if they were.
What arrived was not human in the slightest. It was actually more closely related to a common ocotpus like one might find in the ocean. It had a shell in its skin, and had two large Aquamarine blue eyes. It had no visable breathing apparatus or nostrals, but it did have a mouth just above its tentacles.
It was solid Grey, except for the eyes.
"Greetings, I am from the Octopi ships. We come to help repair your station." The air around it said.

A representative from the station was on hand. "Please, we will accept all the help you will offer." Inside the station they would finally get a close-up view of the assault troops. They appeared to be similar to powered armor suits except they were roughly twice the size of a human.
OOC: I've gotta log for the night in a few minutes, when will you be on tomorrow?
OOC: Off and on all day.
IC:
The Aquamarinian closed its eyes.
50 of them appeared. All looking EXACTLY like the first one.
With them were 25 new creatures. These creatures had no heads, and extraordinarily large muscles. They were wearing nothing a regular t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Some had four arms, some had two. They were all under mind control.
All 75 repairmen scattered like the winds and began fixing everything. For the most part evetything was left at its current level of knowldge, however if somethings the Aquamarinians could be dangerous or if a slight upgrade could vastly improve performance, then these were done.
They worked effeicently, and with great speed.
OOC: What that means is, its like keeping todays RL shuttles the same, but also giving them five years of upgrades at the same time.

Iorek shook his head as the ship shuddered, this was much worse than the worst-case scenario he had worked up in his head on the way here.
"Sir!" called out the comms officer, "The Christoph is reporting heavy damage and internal fires!"
"Have them fall back to the carriers and have the Nickolai move forward to cover that position."
"Yes, Admiral."
As the ship shook again, he looked over at his weapons officer. "Why are they still shooting us? Guns, I want that ship dead right now!" The command ship was one of three dreadnaughts in the fleet and it unleashed an overwhelming volume of fire into the nearest ship. Minutes later, it was a drifting hulk wracked by internal explosions.

"Admiral! We're starting to lose sheilding on the port side!"
"Roll us and bring our starboard weapons to bear." He looked out at the battlefield, the blackness of space crisscrossed by tiny pinpricks of light and lit up with tiny explosions. "Order all ships to deploy their Thumpers and give the Wardog group the order to advance. And find out who's in command of the surviving station forces."
Yes, Admiral!"
The Heavy Cruiser Wardog moved forward, opening fire on the enemy fighters, flanking it on either side were the missile ships Rinfa and Scinfa. Seeing this, Coravel had to call out some quick orders. "All surviving members of group one, back towards the station. We don't want to stay here much longer. Surviving second group and bombers, stay away from the furball, it's about to get messy here. As the fighters streaked past the Wardog group, the missile ships opened up with volley after volley, practically filling that section of space with metal. That point of the engagement was very nearly one massive fireball.
OOC: If anyone else wants to jump in they are more than welcome to.

Arcadeos Space
The maroon ovoid probe fired a few small bursts from a thruster closest the fighting ships, driving the probe away from the firefight - toward Sucellan space. As it did so, it transmitted short signals, relaying the message it had intercepted to Sucellan Navy outposts in nearby systems before activating its fold drive and folding to Sucello itself.
---
Sucellan Military Outpost Echo-Bravo-Phi
Comms Officer Smith Corley sat at one of many communications terminals on the "bridge" of the station. Echo-Bravo-Phi was a remote outpost, far from most Sucellan influence, so Communications was often a slow job. Boring and tedious, but the pay was good. During his time serving on Echo-Bravo-Phi, Smith had not once received a comm at his terminal, so he was surprised when the pinging of the terminal's alert woke him from a light nap. He read the briefing as composed by the AI on the probe, then turned in his seat.
"Hey, I just got a transmission. I need an Infotech over here."
A green-suited Infotech, a member the information analyzation wing of the Sucellan Navy, trotted over to the comms terminal and skimmed the briefing, then rubbed his chin in thought.
"Interesting. I'll go alert the Lieutenant. Bring comms up to full alert and tell Defense to power up station defense turrets."
"Aye, aye."
---
"Sir, Infotech Viktor, sir. We've got a situation that may require our attention. A defense station known to us only as Ackmard fell under attack in a nearby system. They're indirectly requesting foreign aid before their fleet is decimated."
Lieutenant Mosheninkov turned away from Viktor and scratched his shoulder. He stared at the small terminal at his desk for a short time before standing and looking into Viktor's eyes. "Very well. Get a Star Destroyer prepared for launch. Have two platoons of Stormtroopers on board in case they are required to board. Prepare a flight of TIE and ZIG fighters. I'll brief the captain and then join the ship as its commanding officer."
"Aye, aye, sir!" Viktor replied. He brought a fist to heart in a crisp salute before turning and walking out of the office.

Star Destroyer Thin Ice
The Star Destroyer had left the outpost almost an hour ago, and it finally arrived at coordinates transmitted by the probe before folding to Sucello. Upon entering realspace, Lieutenant Mosheninkov began issuing orders.
"Navigations, orient us and move us slowly toward the battle. Communications, hail the station Ackmard, ask them what the situation is, then hail all nearby ships and learn their intentions as well. Weapons, power up all turbolaser cannons and place them in standby. Fire control, acquire firing solutions for all nearby ships and transmit them to Weapons in case we need to open fire quickly. Operations, launch a squad of TIEs and ZIG fighters, have them fly in a screen formation at the bow of the ship. Once you've done that, perform routine checks on the shields and weapon capacitors."
The bridge became a flurry of movement as the Lieutenant's orders were carried out.
[OOC: All nearby ships and the station have been hailed by Communications, and they're awaiting a response. Weapons is going to fire on any ships that don't respond in a timely fashion just out of paranoia.]
The Whale ship noticed that things seemed to be going nowhere.
It beganto convert all power to its weaponry, it was preparing its most powerful weapon, The Dark Matter Cannon. It still had minimal life and shields, but the power for the Dark Matter Cannon had to be built up.
OOC: My Dark Matter cannon is like MT Rail Guns.
It starts as energy, but the Dark Matter congeals, and becomes Solid, while still being energy, yet its capable of ripping straight through shields and ships alike. I only have 15 shots, because i only have so much Dark Energy.
I don't mind missing a few times, but I do expect to hit a couple of times, a do significant damage. As of yet, i have not shot it.
~Snip~
The Aquamarinian Ships responded satying they were here assisting as well. They also warned not to get in the path of the Whale, because it was about to use The Dark Matter Cannon

***ON BOARD THE NOVINDUS***
In the midst of a slugging match with two more dreadnoughts, the Novindus was getting pounded. "Admiral!" called out the sensors operator, "A second star destroyer just reverted on the edge of the engagement!"
An instant later, comms called out "The star destroyer Thin Ice is asking for a sitrep, sir!"
Iorek turned, "Patch me through. This is Admiral Byrnison, commander of the Dominion's First Fleet. We, along with the star destroyer Avenger and the Aquamarinians are attempting to defend the station and what's left of the station's forces. At this time I am unsure of who is commanding the surving Ackmard forces." As he spoke, the fleet began to follow his earlier order to deploy their Thumpers: small, compact fighter-bombers which formed up and began to strafe enemy ships.
The Whale targeted the Enemy Ship that was most threatening, it tracked its movements, as the Mouth section opened, revealing a large cannon inside.
The Ship fired off something Black and solid at the Enemy vessel, the Kickback of which, knocked the space craft back several hundred feet.
The Shot congealed into a massive long spike, and it was going fast. Soon, it approached the enemy vessel, would it miss? would it hit?

Vorhad was lining up for his next attack run. By now he had incorporated several Thumpers into his bombing group. They formed up and were on their way in, dodging enemy fire as the capital ships guns oriented on their formation when a...something...streaked in from the side. It punctured the shield and blew a great, gaping hole in the hull. The force was enough to spin the ship off course. Vorhad watched as thrusters kicked in to correct, but turning the ship caused a compromised hull to bend and then shear. The open ends burning as the available oxygen was vented, the two pieces drifted off at right angles to eachother. Keying his comm, he said, "Bowman to bombing group, we're going to hit that cruiser over their instead. Did anyone see where that shot came from?"
The Whale opened up all its Phasers on the damaged ship to finish it off.
The Station now repaired and ready to fight again, the Octopi Ships broke the Shield and moved into the fight. They waited until the Phaser fire finished from the Whale, then they attached themselves to it Via Tractor beams, and suction. Then, after they began physicly touching it, they ran powerful Jolts of Electricity through the Ship to fry its Sensors and hurt those within.
After thant all five pulled the ship in diffrent directions to rip it apart.

"Sir, we've discovered the commander of the Ackmard forces!"
"Patch me through."
"Already done sir."
"Hello? To whom am I speaking?"
On the other end, Coravel had his hands full. "This is Graywolf, who the hell are you and why are you on the wing frequency?"
At the rear of the enemy fleet, several large transports emptied them selves of combat drones. At this point there were around eighty enemy capital ships left.
"Who the hell am I?! I am Admiral Byrnison!" Over the channel a chorus of laughter mixed with groans was heard. Vorhad just winced.

Star Destroyer Thin Ice - Bridge
Lieutenant Mosheninkov walked along the command bridge in the centre of the bridge, watching the fire control technicians in the crew pit beneath him. He turned and strode to the viewports, watching the battle ensue outside the ship.
"Lieutenant," one of the communications officers said. "We've got comms from Ackmard and another faction known as the Aquamarines."
Turning to the officer, he began walking to the rear of the bridge, at the communications terminals. He read the messages sent by the other ships in the system, then spoke.
"Hail Ackmard again and ask them why we should devote Sucellan firepower to their cause and not the cause of their enemy." He turned back to the crew pit, addressing the fire control technicians. "Keep firing solutions for all ships in-system. If Ackmard gives us a response I don't like, we're going to have quite a fight on our hands unless Naval Command sends in backup." Walking across the rear of the bridge, he spoke to the Navigations officer. "Move us closer to the battle. I want us still out of the main fighting, but bring us close enough for the turbolasers to be accurate."

Ackmard:
This is the Sucellan Star Destroyer /Thin Ice/. We are a part of the Sucellan Naval Forces, the starfleet of the Sucellan Governance of Tannenmille. According to comms from Sucello, there is backup en route consisting of another Star Destroyer, three Lancer frigates and one Victory cruiser. I don't have time for small threats from a besieged space station. I merely asked why we should assist /you/ rather than your enemy. Why are they attacking you? Men have given their lives to defend ths section of vacuum against overwhelming odds. Who are you to diminish their sacrifice? What kind of person are you that you answer a distress call only to threaten the survivors of those who sent it? If you join our attackers, we will lose yes. But, I will take great pleasure in destroying each and every one of your ships before I die.

The shot from the whale ship ripped another capital ship apart, casting an orange glare on the transports unloading assault troops. As they would clear the doors, the Panthera suits would activate their thrusters and engae the oncoming drone, supported by fire from the heavy cruiser Wardog.
OOC: Ballpark the remaining ships at 60-70 plus snubfighters and drones
The Octopi Ships Lined up, and pointed their tentacles at the Enemy ships. 40 in total. One tentacle for each enemy. Then they began firing Phaser blasts that were half the power of normal blasts, but still reall strong.

As the enemy fleet returned fire the Thumpers began attack runs, weaving in and out of the weapons batteries on their way to the bridges and engines. The other snubfighters were refueling and the capital ships were exchanging body blows. While a small number of assault troops escorted (really, towed) the out of fuel snubfighters, the rest of the Panthera suits were involved in a chaotic fight with the drones.
the vacuum was lit by explosions as thin beams laced back and forth at all angles, leaving shrapnel from the drones and limbs and torsos from the Pantheras, somtimes with the pilot's body drifting free.
The Octopi continued their assault.

"Admiral!"
"What is it?"
"The enemy fleet appears to be withdrawing. They're falling back on their exit vector!"
Iorek spun towards the comms officer. "Message to the fleet all vessels are to press forward! We can end this now if we press them. Have the refueled Bladehawks engage the enemy fighters and esctort the Dragoons in. I want the Dragoons and Thumpers to start attcking the nearest ships. After we drive them off we can mop up the drones."
"Yes Admiral!"
Under the sustained fire of the Octopi, ships began to explode.
Elsewhere, with the Nine voices again.
"We have intercepted a signal to destroy the entire enemy." 1 said.
"Ahh, Laeviathan needs exercise." said 2

Back at the battle.
A great white singularity split Space in half, and from it, emerged a Living creature, that lived in space as naturally as fish lived in the ocean.
It was capable of energy attacks like a ship, and it was 3 miles long. It was light black, and Gold colored energy began to course through its body, as it targeted the escaping ships.
It Breathed a blast of powerful energy to the center of the escaping fleet, that exploded upon contact with anything. The Blast radius itself would be 50 miles in radius.
It let a roar that flooded all communictions channels, and sounded much like a Dragon, it was loud, and deafening.
After the blast, it dived for the retreating enemy, using its now glowing Claws to tear through Sheilds and hulls alike.

Iorek was aghast. "Signal the fleet to reverse thrust, full power to forward shields and form a cone with the Novindus at it's tip. Recall all snubfighters, and get the assault troops out of there! Prepare for a concentrated salvo on my command. If that thing comes this way we'll let it know it just made a big mistake. Continue on this course then halt us once we reach the station."
"Yes, Admiral!"
As it tore through another ship, it actually spoke.
It was directed towards the enemy vessels.
"I am the Great Guardian Wurm Laeviathan, Servant of Lady Ri-an, and ally of the Aquamarinians. Those that would purposly assult the weakened, prepare to Die." was all it said.
It breathed another stream of energy, not as powerful as its inital blast, but strong all the same. This did not explode.
Then it went back to tearing ships apart.

What was left of the enemy fleet, a mere handful of ships was in full retreat now. abandoning their fighters they began to exit the system at su[ralight speed. Any that remained fell to Laeviathan. Across the radiowaves deafening cheers were heard. And who could blame them for celebrating? They had just defeated the enemy in the face of insurmountable odds.
Iorek slumped back in his command chair. "I want this broadcasted: To the Aqaumarines, Sucellan ships, and the Avenger. I thank you for your assistance in defeating the Rhithin fleet. It isn't something we normally do, but you may enter the station if you so wish. That is where I will be for now. Whether or not you take me up on the offer is up to you, but once again, we thank you for your much needed help."

Star Destroyer Thin Ice - Bridge
Lieutenant Mosheninkov stared at what used to be the enemy fleet. Among the wreckage was the burning hull of the Victory-class cruiser and two of the three Lancer-class frigates. The other Star Destroyer lurched forward, moving quickly away from the blast site. Navigations on the Thin Ice followed suit, not even requiring orders from the stunned Lieutenant. As thrusters mounted on the sides of the ship turned it away from the blast site, Lieutenant Mosheninkov took one last look at the dead wreckage of other Sucellan vessels. He clasped his fist to heart in a solemn salute, then walked to the rear of the bridge.
"Comms, hail everyone in this system and find out who the hell is responsible for the destruction of three Sucellan vessels. Bring the Adamant up to speed and get me a permanent comms link with them on the forward viewscreen." As he spoke, he turned to the crew pit at the centre of the bridge. "Fire control, acquire firing solutions on every damned ship in this system. If they refuse to accept responsibility, we will show them the error of their ways."

"They want to know who was responsible for destroying their ships, sir."
"A massive enemy fleet was just sitting around firing indiscriminately for most of the day and he thinks we killed his ships."
"Essentially, I beleive so, Admiral."
Iorek sighed, why is nothing ever easy?
Return reply:
"Why do you think we did it? we could not have possible harmed your ship, having purposly directed our attacks directly at the enemy fleets we have just now decimated. We sympathise with you for your losses, but do not look at us for their destruction."

Lieutenant Mosheninkov was speaking with Lieutenant Commander Kawashima on the front viewscreen, bringing him up to speed. When the communications officer spoke up that there was a response, he excused himself from the impersonal meeting with a higher-ranking officer and strode to the rear of the bridge.
"They claim to not be responsible for the destruction of our ships, sir." the communications officer related. "They claim that the attack was directed strictly at the enemy."
Mosheninkov stiffened and stared coldly at the communications officer. "Enough of this. Get me a direct link with their ship, and tell the Adamant we must break contact with them momentarily."
The communications officer nodded and requested a video/audio comm link with the ship as the Lieutenant walked slowly back to the front viewscreen.

"I am Lieutenant Mosheninkov, effective commander of Sucellan forces in this region. If you are the one who issued the orders that unleashed the... thing which disrupted comms for a short period, I am holding you responsible for the destruction of the following Sucellan vessels: Lancer-class frigates Discord and Larceny, as well as the Victory-class cruiser Arbiter's Fist. "Pretty bad, sir. A couple of corvettes and a frigate scrapped, most of the fleet has been damaged with some that'll need to see a shipyard before they go into combat again. Most of the Thumpers are still servicable, as are our Bladehawks and Dragoons, and our Pantheras. The vast majority of the Ackmard forces have been destroyed. They're down to a handful of Bladehawks and Dragoons, and they're not much better off when it comes to the Pantheras. Minister Achen stood in the surprisingly spacious cockpit and leaned over to the comms terminal when it pinged. As he read the message, he frowned. 'The ones responsible either haven't informed officials here, or they're playing stupid to buy time,' he mused to himself. "Hm. Send them this response," he spoke to the comms officer.
Official Transmission from the Sucllan Ministry of Foreign Affairs
In Sector 972, a Sucellan probe encountered a battle scene and SOS beacon. It sent the beacon across Sucellan comms, which eventually reached a small outpost in a nearby system. The outpost sent a Star Destroyer, the Thin Ice in response to the SOS signal. At Sector 972, the Thin Ice encountered vessels assisting a besieged station known as Ackmard. While the Thin Ice deliberated on the decision to assist or attack Ackmard, the Sucellan probe folded to Sucello itself, where the beacon was answered by a planetary defense station. An additional Star Destroyer, Victory-class cruiser, and three Lancer-class frigates folded to Sector 972. Upon apparent orders from a council which eventually led Sucellan forces to this system, some sort of dragon appeared in space and annhilated the near entirety of the enemy fleet. In the explosion, however, the three Sucellan vessels I mentioned earlier were destroyed. Their destruction would easily have been avoided had the commanders in Sector 972 informed the Sucellan Naval Force of the dragon's intent beforehand. However, they made the mistake of showing no regard for the safety and well-being of Sucellan Naval Force members who had navigated close to the enemy fleet to attack the enemy in range of high-powered weaponry. Upon the conclusion of communication between the Star Destroyer Thin Ice and the previously-mentioned council which led us to this system, the two Star Destroyers and remaining Lancer-class frigate folded back to Sucello for repairs and a council with me, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. After deliberation, I decided to personally oversee the transmission of the message you have responded to. That brings us all up to date.

"Because there are those that suffer. Monetary recompensation is Shallow indeed, yes, but it will help sow the seeds of Healing. You must understand, We are the Good side, we seek to help others in what ever ways we can. Also, those who did cause what happened, they are experts in spreading lies, and decieving others. This is the only way, we can prove we did not do it, while at the same time ecplaining what really did happen. Let us Roll back the clock three years.
Three years ago, there was a Terrible being, he decided to force the universe to love him, and kill those that didn't. His name was the Shadowlord, and his essence was of the Night itself. For thousands of years, he plagued us, while we stopped him fromleaving our world and visiting his evil upon other worlds. Finally though, he gained power, and took many women from many worlds. He took from them, their power to bring forth life, and raised an Army of Demons fashioned after his own powers. With them, he left, Ri-an. He visited many other worlds, and spread terrible Wanton Destruction, because nobody would love him. Finally, he decided to unmake those that continually opposed him, so he stole his way into the Sacred Temple at the Heart of Time that lies outside of Time, and there, he went to the Central Chamber, and stole the Infinitycore, but the Temporal Guardians stopped him from taking it out of the temple, but at great loss, for it shattered, and disrupted all of time, bringing it to a Grinding halt, and then causing the Equavelnt of a Major Earthquake that measures 10.0 on the Scales of Richter, and disrupting the origins of many nations. Few Time casters survived, and those that did, set all to rights, and erased this event from the books of time, restoring The Infinitycore and returning it to the Temple. defeated, he turned to The God outside Creation, The God of The Infinite Nothing, and from this Gained the powers of the gods, threatened with absolute destruction and death, many people from many nations Gathered, and battled him to the Death, I myself struck the Killing Blow. He died, and all was at rest.
Or so we thought...
We told you that to tell you this.
2 years ago, they appeared. There were nine of them, and they all had the powers of Shadow. In his finall moments, Shadow split his Soul into Nine Equal parts, and scattered it, all nine parts became their own Soul, and all nine formed their own bodys. They sought each other out, and swore Revenge in the memory of their Father. For Two years now, they've operated in Secrecy, hindering the smooth operation of out government, harming our people, and doing harmful things in our name to many others. They mean to take us down, and slowly gather strength. We do not know their names, or their faces, only that each wears an Identicle Black Robe, and each sounds and looks exactly the same as the last. They call themselves the Ministry, and the operate in a place Science cannot take you to, for they live on the Plane of Shadow.
We bear their Burdens, because it is the only way to let others know, that we ourselves are innocent. It is only a matter of time, before we find The Ministry, and collect from them, the Debts they owe all Society. They Shall Pay with their lifes." Lady Ri-an said.
