Kostantiniyya
01-07-2006, 09:40
The year was 1204. Western Crusaders under Venice betray the Byzantines and take Constantinople. Byzantine refugees flee and sailed the seas. Latin Empire established as a Roman Catholic successor to Orthodox Byzantium.

During the later years, the Byzantine refugees founded a new state while Byzantine powers fought to restore the Empire. The Empire of Nicaea spearheaded the campaign.

1453 brought the end of Byzantium and the reign of Emperor James I of what would be Kostantiniyya.

In later years, the Orthodox Church in Kostantiniyya found that a new power was rising. Islam had appeared in several provinces, due to dealings with Muslim powers, including the Ottomans possibly.

Finally, Emperor James III lost the Great War with Islamic factions. This led to the rise of Sultan Muhammad I. Muhammad I was the first Sultan of Kostantiniyya. Under his rule, changes occured.

After Muhammed, several new Sultans ruled. One change to things was under Sultan Ali III. He made the Inspection, a time when girls and women were brought to be inspected to see if they could be the Sultan's wife.

There was no Harem really, the one husband, one wife stance was tooken by some. However, some may have diverted, who knows?

Anywho, now, after many more years, the State of Kostantiniyya enters the 21st Century. Sultan James V (may change later), the current Sultan, hopes he has a good reign.

And for now ends my introduction to Kostantiniyya, my nation that I, a newbie just made.
