OOC: No tags. None. Don’t even think about it. Everyone who should be involved in this RP knows who they are. Some of this is fluid time and permission to take this roleplay on the course it will follow has been given by all respective parties.

Research stations are fairly uneventful things in terms of day-to-day workings for most peoples and arguably even moreso in the Xenonian protectorate and none moreso than Period 7, a major research facility located not too far from the Military strongholds of the Xenonians. The day to day workings of these facilties were generally kept quiet and unassuming, emplaced behind level upon level of carefully designed and perfectly maintained defensive lines and the sentinel Fleetships keeping watch overhead alongside defensive installations. Inside the facilities, the research carried on nevertheless, unheeded by military concerns or budgetary concerns that might have some weight upon other nations's scientific pursuits.
Period 7 also happened to be under the jurisdiction of the Xenonian Research Division, overlooked by Kaptain Aer (they call him "aggro") Katini and the usual bevy of highly trained and well equipped marines, alongside every other form of defence one might imagine to be there. Given this nature and the highly secret research conducted there (Xenonian state department refuses to acknowledge any claims even upon the existance of the facility when questioned), it’s perhaps one of the most heavily guarded facilities of it's type in the known universe, built right into the crust of the very planet it borrows it's name from, and surrounded by dense fields of interlocking defense stations, minefields and many, many natural obstacles. Naturally, they were all mined. It was a facility built with the meticulous precision of Xenonian architecture and guarded by one of most elite fighting forces in the galaxy.
All the better to preserve the hidden nature of the material that was being investigated there.
With that in mind, Aer was sitting in a state of complete peace, and understanding with the universe. His slim frame betrayed sprawled across a tiny piece of the Barren salt plain, the higher state of meditation he was in allowing him to both stretch, and think.. His mind was sifting through data uncomprehendable by most minds, all the while adopting a position of complete harmony, legs bent over his head. Even a collective scream from Neuralinks across the galaxy could never hope to even impinge upon his level of awareness unless he consciously allowed it. In this case, he found it absolutely necessary upon the arrival of new material the in Neuralinks that both alarmed and surprised even his own rather well travelled mind.
However, it was not only the neuralinks that set his doubts racing through corridors of the mind. Thus it was, through a slight change in air pressure, he sensed the presence of his company subcommander behind him immediately. Turning with swift movements that betrayed no emotion he nodded, the unseen message passed between them. The extensive sensor arrays around the facility, extending even into specific dimensions had detected Incoming ships, and by no means scheduled. The ships made no attempt to hide, or conceal their nature. The vessels just advanced onwards, ignoring picket lines and containment zones they would have followed, should they have any legal reason to be here. Even now, their indentity was being confirmed in every imaginable way.
Sensors detect 24 ships incoming. Possible markings suggest comparisons with that of alliances encountered by our allies before … interesting. Database cross-referencing with known material from the ESUS leads us to conclude they are ships of the GFFA? This is a fascinating occurrence.
All the more so interesting given their actions lately against, or according to them, because of the Galactic Empire. Appears their weapons are armed too, so it’s hardly they indeed to engage in a trusting discussion. I doubt this means anything positive.
As more reports continued to collate in piles of mental data, Aer allowed himself time to truly think, considering options gained from years of warfare ... and the study of it that he had, for so long continued to refine at Xenonian academies. Ruling out peaceful options was a difficult thing for the overly pacifistic character to do, but his mind concluded they were illogical. If the intention was peaceful, why would a group take the approach to a research facility that was off limits to everyone with ships that had weapons powered up? It was far too risky to be a stunt, far to similar to dancing infront of the machineguns for Aer to ever believe that.
Their actions were made all the more suspicious by an earlier Xenonian warning for the GFFA not to touch these despite the aggressive nature of an ally, The Fedral Union in earlier diplomatic tussles. Taking the fact they were moving steadily and sensors confirmed power buildups consistent with weaponry, and the ships were not responding to any and all hails into account, there could be only one course of action. It could very well result in an intergalactic war, but the alternative was worse. Aer could accept the reaction from the GFFA to a defensive system bristling with weaponry ... the results of an unexpected attack on the facility he would not. If nessecary, he would not hestiate.
Organise the forces, I am already in touch with Kenpaichi from the 3rd. I want all forces online immediately, and flare up the incoming ships. Keep an eye out for fighters. Deploy fighters with Anti-Capital playloads. All defenses to full power slowly so as to prevent giving our awareness away, all transmissions open. Whatever this is, it’s blatantly challenging, and hardly friendly by nature and probably by intent. Even the GFFA have more diplomatic tact than this, despite what their recent actions would lead one to believe. Futhermore, get the pict recorders rolling ... just incase we need to prove they fired first.
While his subcommander left to personally lead the defenses as they responded to his orders, powering up and waiting, Aer allowed himself to slip back into his meditative state. It was nothing to get worked up about after all, and the mind free of doubt is always the best for dealing with any situation, be it War, or diplomacy. Besides, the Balroggans would want to know exactly what was going on and he could compile the appropriate report for them much faster here ... He had made their Attache follow him to this facility after all.
This situation had conflict written all over it.
