Research stations are fairly uneventful things in terms of day-to-day workings for most peoples and arguably even moreso in the Xenonian protectorate and none moreso than Period 7, a major research facility located not too far from the Military strongholds of the Xenonians. The day to day workings of these facilties were generally kept quiet and unassuming, emplaced behind level upon level of carefully designed and perfectly maintained defensive lines and the sentinel Fleetships keeping watch overhead alongside defensive installations. Inside the facilities, the research carried on nevertheless, unheeded by military concerns or budgetary concerns that might have some weight upon other nations's scientific pursuits.

Period 7 also happened to be under the jurisdiction of the Xenonian Research Division, overlooked by Kaptain Aer (they call him "aggro") Katini and the usual bevy of highly trained and well equipped marines, alongside every other form of defence one might imagine to be there. Given this nature and the highly secret research conducted there (Xenonian state department refuses to acknowledge any claims even upon the existance of the facility when questioned), it’s perhaps one of the most heavily guarded facilities of it's type in the known universe, built right into the crust of the very planet it borrows it's name from, and surrounded by dense fields of interlocking defense stations, minefields and many, many natural obstacles. Naturally, they were all mined. It was a facility built with the meticulous precision of Xenonian architecture and guarded by one of most elite fighting forces in the galaxy.

All the better to preserve the hidden nature of the material that was being investigated there.

With that in mind, Aer was sitting in a state of complete peace, and understanding with the universe. His slim frame betrayed sprawled across a tiny piece of the Barren salt plain, the higher state of meditation he was in allowing him to both stretch, and think.. His mind was sifting through data uncomprehendable by most minds, all the while adopting a position of complete harmony, legs bent over his head. Even a collective scream from Neuralinks across the galaxy could never hope to even impinge upon his level of awareness unless he consciously allowed it. In this case, he found it absolutely necessary upon the arrival of new material the in Neuralinks that both alarmed and surprised even his own rather well travelled mind.

However, it was not only the neuralinks that set his doubts racing through corridors of the mind. Thus it was, through a slight change in air pressure, he sensed the presence of his company subcommander behind him immediately. Turning with swift movements that betrayed no emotion he nodded, the unseen message passed between them. The extensive sensor arrays around the facility, extending even into specific dimensions had detected Incoming ships, and by no means scheduled. The ships made no attempt to hide, or conceal their nature. The vessels just advanced onwards, ignoring picket lines and containment zones they would have followed, should they have any legal reason to be here. Even now, their indentity was being confirmed in every imaginable way.

Sensors detect 24 ships incoming. Possible markings suggest comparisons with that of alliances encountered by our allies before … interesting. Database cross-referencing with known material from the ESUS leads us to conclude they are ships of the GFFA? This is a fascinating occurrence.

All the more so interesting given their actions lately against, or according to them, because of the Galactic Empire. Appears their weapons are armed too, so it’s hardly they indeed to engage in a trusting discussion. I doubt this means anything positive.

As more reports continued to collate in piles of mental data, Aer allowed himself time to truly think, considering options gained from years of warfare ... and the study of it that he had, for so long continued to refine at Xenonian academies. Ruling out peaceful options was a difficult thing for the overly pacifistic character to do, but his mind concluded they were illogical. If the intention was peaceful, why would a group take the approach to a research facility that was off limits to everyone with ships that had weapons powered up? It was far too risky to be a stunt, far to similar to dancing infront of the machineguns for Aer to ever believe that.

Their actions were made all the more suspicious by an earlier Xenonian warning for the GFFA not to touch these despite the aggressive nature of an ally, The Fedral Union in earlier diplomatic tussles. Taking the fact they were moving steadily and sensors confirmed power buildups consistent with weaponry, and the ships were not responding to any and all hails into account, there could be only one course of action. It could very well result in an intergalactic war, but the alternative was worse. Aer could accept the reaction from the GFFA to a defensive system bristling with weaponry ... the results of an unexpected attack on the facility he would not. If nessecary, he would not hestiate.

Organise the forces, I am already in touch with Kenpaichi from the 3rd. I want all forces online immediately, and flare up the incoming ships. Keep an eye out for fighters. Deploy fighters with Anti-Capital playloads. All defenses to full power slowly so as to prevent giving our awareness away, all transmissions open. Whatever this is, it’s blatantly challenging, and hardly friendly by nature and probably by intent. Even the GFFA have more diplomatic tact than this, despite what their recent actions would lead one to believe. Futhermore, get the pict recorders rolling ... just incase we need to prove they fired first.

While his subcommander left to personally lead the defenses as they responded to his orders, powering up and waiting, Aer allowed himself to slip back into his meditative state. It was nothing to get worked up about after all, and the mind free of doubt is always the best for dealing with any situation, be it War, or diplomacy. Besides, the Balroggans would want to know exactly what was going on and he could compile the appropriate report for them much faster here ... He had made their Attache follow him to this facility after all.

This situation had conflict written all over it.

24 Flagships, A fleet consisting of 4 Eclipses and 20 Exicutors, were fully automated each of which where plastered with GFFA. They all simultaneously opened fire on the Research station, The 4 eclipses fired there one Super laser each, along with the Executors Turbo-lasers, the Station would absorb most of the damage, but do just enough to be considered an act of War.

Having the Databanks erased completely and all of the ships and technology within purchased from an Undisclosed nation made the attack untraceable to Tigerlan, the Only hint of the Attacker was the Large Printing of GFFA on each side, creating the Illusion that the GFFA ordered the Attack, Also the fabricated GFFA orders did not help the GFFA's case.

OOC: Wheeeeee .... Dream Theater influencing my roleplays again =D. I'll edit this later, enjoy.

IC.

We have taken fire kaptain .... return at your orders.

Damage on shields, irregular fire pattern. Pfft, amateurs.

Hahahahahaha oh sweet jesus, even alexi could have hit from that range even if his girlfriend was giving him ..!

Allrighty boys and girls. Gather up, move in position. Arm the mines.

Overhead, the planetary shields took the brunt of the attack. As the combined firepower of the hostile fleet hit the shields, the best way into which to deploy them to stop the beam was considered. The energy signatures had not been encountered before ... And thus it was the blast seemed to scream towards the salt plains of the planet, seemingly breaking through the shields. What sky there was became consumed with fire as more of the shields seemed unable to stop the torrent of energy. The entire focus of the planet's shields rerouted, and seemed to fail. Even as this happened the blast contacted with the crust of planet, the regular energy shields seemed to be at the point of breaking out, they clung onto their roles, bitterly. The dimensional shields were found to be most effective, taking a large amount of the energy on the chin and still holding outy.

Aer's hand was already at his warblade as his troops continued their usual commonplace, battlefield Neuralink chatter, and a mental thought transformed it into his final release of all latent energy he had gathered in his mind. The Blade curved into a harmonious black and white scythe and he grasped the hilt, allowing his mind to wander. Bending down on his knees, he struck the ground. The conflagration created upon the ground was immense, sheer energy of his strike carving minature valleys through the ground, Rivulets of sheer power that seemed to be purposeless were now left dancing on the ground, residual sparks. One of his eyes had already turned black, the other blue. With all experiments and dangerous material already moved to 1st Period, he had no need to do so either.

With that, he crouched down, his seemingly frail human legs bending for stress from the planet's high gravity ... and jumped. He fell down roughly, gravity being as it is, and compensated for the speed as he impacted with the hull of of an orbital defence cannon that was uncovered by his rather complex manouvere, and within a moment was gone, a wave of dust still floating in the wake of a dream left behind. His weapon visibly hummed, possessing a mind like his own. Placid, insightful and intelligent .... yet consumed with some unstoppable anger even as every citizen was left to watch on through the Neuralinks.

The (as yet unnamed) subcommander of the Xenonian Scientific divizion, was already in a semi-drugged state, the Xenonian power armour that had become the feared symbol of the Xenonian marines slowly being attached to his body. He only had seconds to notice Aer wasn't wearing his armour, yet was already crouched down, Veins pusing at the sides of his head. All Subcommanders knew what was about to happen, and could do nothing to stop it. Seconds later, servos deactivated and his suits senses informed him the masses of nanobots essential to the fusion of Xenonian and machine had disabled. Around him, other Xenonians were doing the same as humming throughout the facility practically screamed "hey guys, we is powaeeng up da biggest gunz in the house!, and da biggest shields too!". Assuming Xenonians were predisposed to speaking ork. Futhermore as they did this,

At that precise moment, every single defensive emplacement in the entire station and all surrounding defenses aquired a target, that being one of the larger vessels, and opened fire on what they determined to be a noncritical area. Seconds later, they changed targets and fired upon the next ship, this time to destroy. What could not hit that ship coordinated their firepower on another, . Seconds later, a new transmission burst through the Neuralinks. The backup was already online, and ready to act, their own weapons banks clycling through ammuntion, be it temporal, Conventional, Dimensional or quantum, the Fleetships possessed it and were now ready to hit from behind.

This is Kenpaichi, good to see you're handling things Aer. I'm reading surprising shielding damage on some parts of the station, looks like capacitators will have trouble dealing with it if we aren't careful. All points bulletin on repair squads in case of physical damage has been issued. We're ready to back Fleetship's up on the attack. Aer? .... Aerogo Katini?

As he waited for signs the reply came, Kenpaichi found he feared it.

I'll lead the defense myself. Kill them all. One by one.

Many, many millions of miles away, at the helm of his own Division's Fleetship, Kenpaichi had gone pale, his features obscure by some intangible veil. His own subcommander seemed tentative to approach her Kaptain, but he sensed he surprise. By speaking with his own voice, he hoped to return her to some place of reality. Aer's behaviour had shocked many of them deeply. Few of the younger Xenonians had believed that he had truly had such raw hate nestled in his psyche, or the psyche of any Xenonian, and even the older commanders were shaken by it. Kenpaichi was himself young, but understood enough of the situation to expect this to happen. Even so ... he noticed a slight tremor in his hands as he spoke.

"Aer has released himself and is now standing with the Xenonian marines. I believe he will only respond to his former name as Kaptain of the combat divison, Aleksander .... if he responds to anything at all. I need an order from Gregorovich himself to spare some of them. Otherwise we won't have any prisoners to interrogate, be they artifical or otherwise. Futhermore, put me in contact with his daughter ... I think she may be the only one able to control him once the battle is over. He'll obey Gregorovich, but only she carries the means to an end".

Kenpaichi then set off his orders at a brisk pace on an open channel, and then invidiual orders over neuralinks.

The ESUS has been attacked by a foreign power. THE XENONIAN PROTECTORATE, has been attacked by a foreign power. Let it be known we have taken any and all options to avoid this. Now, there is only one option.

Hit them from every direction, every side. Plans are being updated now, I'll edit them as things come up. Both fleetships, come in from places where turrets have taken observeable damage from defensive fire. I want you to lodge enough firepower up their rears to cause colon tumours in their kdis millions of years into the future through some obscure psychic-babble. And yes, I KNOW that doesn't make any sense whatsoever! DO IT, open FIRE!

yes sir.

And so they opened fire in turn, focusing on the rears of the largest ships.

It was at this point, somewhere away in the far-flung galaxies, the Senior Xenonian Ambassdor and Ambassdor to the ESUS council, sir Charles Dreyfuss the second, third and most certainly fifteenth, awoke. It took him less than two seconds to dash down the hall, carrying a rather ungainly instrument at his side , his own weapon out and his canine feet carrying him at a brisk pace towards the depths of the ESUS senate.

Upon arrival at the designated place, Drey allowed himself a moment to pant. He grasped his weapon (a three section staff) and smashed the isntrument, now clearly a gong, with all the strength he had. The noise would be enough to awaken the Siestians ... who needed to know the extra details, and confuse the hell out of everyone else.

Nontheless, it would get the ball rolling.

Da’Reonn was conducting the basic training he had been contracted to give the personal at the Facility. The Xenonier government had requested months ago for assistance in training their personal to resist psionic incursion. The wanted their soldiers and scientists to be able to resist having their minds read by foreign agents. The Empire agreed and assigned Da’Reonn to conduct the training.

The last couple months had shown great promise in the recruits. They had already fully integrated with their Neurolinks, or as they called them, Neuralinks. They functioned upon the same principles so the differences were irrelevant. A rose by any other name…

Then Aggro had transferred the personal to their new facility. Taking Da’Reonn along to complete their training. Period 7 was extremely boring.

Da’Reonn had spent his off time probing the minds of the personal he was training. He justified it by calling it “individual testing” to see if they were learning to keep out unwanted probes. It was similar to an old technique where the master would test his students by attacking them when they least expected. He never went deep, only just enough to be sure they couldn’t keep him out. He respected their private secrets and gave reports to Aggro of his findings.

Other times he would spend scanning the computer systems using his CyberPsi ability. He quickly discovered the Xenonier computers were susceptible to the intrusion due to the fact any AV systems only protected against intrusive coding like hackers and viri. Actually possessing the physical form of the computer was something none of the software was able to protect. Da’Reonn used his access to listen to the Xenonier entertainment archives. Their music was actually very unique and pretty damn good.

Da’Reonn was listening to a new promising musical group when he noticed on his peripheral the indication of an alert of incoming ships from the defense computers. He checked out what the situation was.

The actions of two dozen ships were triggering alerts. They apparently were ignoring all the approved approach vectors and the regulations regarding the state of readiness of their weapons. Visual reports have verified they bore marking from the GFFA. He recognized the ship models as being Eclipses and Executors, ships popular with both the GFFA and the GE.

Searching for Aggro’s familiar mind, Da’Reonn willed himself to Aer’s side. He felt his being phase out of reality and then back into it just in time to witness theKaptain activate his Psi Foci. He always felt the weapon was messy and inefficient. The display of power showed a lack of control but fleshies liked their crackling weapons and he never voiced his opinion knowing it would accomplish nothing.

Da’Reonn sent a message straight into Aer’s mind.

I am here to stand by your side. Let’s take them down.

The president sat in her chair... HER chair damnit... after three months of long drawn out proceedings and bureaucratic bullshit it was hers once again. Jessica Crescent sat back, her desk littered with digitalized pads filled with every sort of international garbage from around the galaxy...

"Madam President, there is a call for you, Priority 2 from the Observatory..." Came a call thru the intercom on the wall,

"Put it through..." She said, running a hand through her silver hair, and removing the perched spectacles from her Burmecian snout, no matter how advanced technology got, she would continue to refuse surgery, much to the dismay of her doctor...

A tall figure shimmered into view, at almost 7 feet tall and 20 feet in length, Ulayla Syphera's holographic tail had to be cut off at a point due to the limit of the recording camera…

“Madam President, we’ve received a… rather unusual message through our office in the ESUS Headquarters… The Xenonier Protectorate has been attacked by the forces of the GFFA… The attack was on a Temporal Facility… I’ve forwarded the information to your console.” After briefly looking over the information displayed, Crescent stood up, pushing the pile of pads to the side of her table, pulling open a drawer in her desk she pulled a rather dusty red pad from its niche… “Mam?”

“Admiral, begin our preparations, full fleets, planetary defense, Dragon Knights… Temporal incursion fleet included…”

“Mam? We can’t take on an alliance such as the GFFA without significant casualties…”

“I’m invoking the constitution, the GFFA won’t know what hit them…”

Message to all ESUS Member Nations
Priority 1
Encryption Level 24
Date: June 22, 2935 (Siesatian Time)

With the aggressive attacks on a Xenonian Temporal Observatory by forces of the GFFA, I am invoking the Extra Solar Union of Systems constitution, Article 5, Section 1, to call upon the forces of the ESUS to utterly crush the Galactic Federation of Free Alliance forces that assail our member states. I am calling a meeting in the ESUS Senate Station, this meeting is of the utmost priority and if possible, member nations should be represented by the highest levels of their government.

Pain! Attack on self-allies! Other-selves not-selves pain!

The rudimentray message was transmitted across the Maker-Mind's breadth and length, and it echoed throughout it. Details were immediately requested, but only few were available. The 'GFFA' had attacked the other-selves, the ESUS.

The Senator, or the sphere that had been constructed solely for diplomacy on the ESUS station was notified, and it sat in the basin it was housed in, solemnly waiting for others to arrive...

...On the worlds of the Maker-Mind, swarms of silvery spiders were awakened anew, spheres, blades, and even-shifting shapes tearing through the heavens, rifts, flares of red, were opened, outlining their jagged shapes with red light.

Once awoken, the beast that had been enraged would be hard to subdue, perhaps impossible..

We hear your call to war as if it were a clarion one, and we march for the ESUS. Know that we come.

Wars abruptly stopped, the endless advancing of the Maker-Mind on new worlds was ceased.. The inhabitants of those worlds were grateful, but those who the Maker-Mind had called itself away for were not going to be in such a mood..
