Just a thought that struck me as interesting.
Sniper Country Armed Forces PT Standards
1) Must complete the 1-Mile Run on an Olympic-Standard track in under four minutes.
2) Must complete the 5-Mile E&E (Escape and Evasion) Run through a prefabricated trail through jungle terrain in under twenty-six minutes, fifteen seconds.
3) Must complete the 26.2-Mile Run through populated city, jungle, desert, and mountainous terrain in under three hours, forty-five minutes.
4) Must complete the two minute dead hang from the skid of an OH-1 scout helicopter while hovering twelve feet above ground.
5) Must properly complete ten repititions of pull-ups. No time limit.
6) Must properly complete seventy-two repititions of push-ups in under two minutes.
7) Must properly complete eighty-two repititions of sit-ups in under two minutes.
8) Must successfully negotiate one designated 30-foot cliff with a certified incline of 93-103 degrees. No time limit.*
9) Must complete the 3.1-mile ocean swim in under fifty-three minutes, thirty seconds.
*Touching the ground after the last foot leaves the ground resigns the event as failure.
The Sniper Country Armed Forces PT Test takes place over the course of three days and tests agility, brute strength, speed, endurance/stamina, and will. Not meeting the full requirements specified per event constitute failure in that event. Failure in a single event resigns the soldier to retest in that one event. Another failure (either the retest, or failure in another event of the same test), and the soldier has failed the entire test. Failure of the entire test constitutes a two-week respite before the soldier is tested again. If this is followed by another failure, the soldier is sent before a review board where it is decided on whether the soldier is waived, retested, or expelled from the SCAF.
NOTE: The SCAF proudly boasts the fastest military in the world.
Feel free to post your military's PT standards, but be reasonable.
