Just a thought that struck me as interesting.

Sniper Country Armed Forces PT Standards

1) Must complete the 1-Mile Run on an Olympic-Standard track in under four minutes.

2) Must complete the 5-Mile E&E (Escape and Evasion) Run through a prefabricated trail through jungle terrain in under twenty-six minutes, fifteen seconds.

3) Must complete the 26.2-Mile Run through populated city, jungle, desert, and mountainous terrain in under three hours, forty-five minutes.

4) Must complete the two minute dead hang from the skid of an OH-1 scout helicopter while hovering twelve feet above ground.

5) Must properly complete ten repititions of pull-ups. No time limit.

6) Must properly complete seventy-two repititions of push-ups in under two minutes.

7) Must properly complete eighty-two repititions of sit-ups in under two minutes.

8) Must successfully negotiate one designated 30-foot cliff with a certified incline of 93-103 degrees. No time limit.*

9) Must complete the 3.1-mile ocean swim in under fifty-three minutes, thirty seconds.

*Touching the ground after the last foot leaves the ground resigns the event as failure.

The Sniper Country Armed Forces PT Test takes place over the course of three days and tests agility, brute strength, speed, endurance/stamina, and will. Not meeting the full requirements specified per event constitute failure in that event. Failure in a single event resigns the soldier to retest in that one event. Another failure (either the retest, or failure in another event of the same test), and the soldier has failed the entire test. Failure of the entire test constitutes a two-week respite before the soldier is tested again. If this is followed by another failure, the soldier is sent before a review board where it is decided on whether the soldier is waived, retested, or expelled from the SCAF.

NOTE: The SCAF proudly boasts the fastest military in the world.

Feel free to post your military's PT standards, but be reasonable.

Mine are very different in terms of prerequisites:

1) Recite the entire first scripts of the Ascheran Bible
A requirement so that they have affirmed faith to the Jenrakian King, the Jenrakian religion, and Jenrak in particular. This also prevents the military from accepting dim-witted idiots, people with bad work ethics and people with memory problems (all which could affect the military directly).

2) Kill an Orphan with bare hands.
An act of loyalty of a soldier to his commander and country, and also a means to numb the soldier to ideals of compassion and mercy. Soldiers are taught to never surrender unless commanded by a General (nobody lower in rank) with a strategic thought in mind. By killing orphans, the soldiers are able to further encompass themselves around death.

3) Vow ten year chasisty.
While it may provide a good psychological effect against the enemy, raping an enemy town is not considered an act wanted by the military nor the country at a whole. Preferring to be seen as liberators rather than conquerors, raping of enemy women are not allowed. Also, sex and lust tend to blind many soldiers, and a good military career (a healthy ten years) is required before they are able to have any relationship with another woman again.

4) Live a month on an island with a bag full of salted human body parts.
Jenrak is a dangerous desert with little place for agriculture. As such, cannibalism is a frequent practice amongst Jenrakians. This has been a tradition going through not only as a ritual practice, but also as a means of sustenance when there are no more supplies left. This is most frequent in the Sadicistra caste, the most sadistic of Jenrak's soldiers. Jenrakian legions are trained so that when they have nothing left to eat, they are to survive off their dead, or the weak, quite literally. Jenrakians also have high resistances to diseases, but they still cook their comarades before eating them, as a precaution.

5) Take a knife stab to a non-fatal location of the body.
Pain tolerance is vital. This also prepares Jenrakian soldiers against possible enemy torture methods.

6) 50 push-ups in a row.
Simple exercise.

7) Be able to bench ten repititions of 250 pounds.
This requirement goes much higher and much more difficult for Temsplaces (Jenrakian Holy Warriors), but it is a representation that Jenrakian soldiers are trained to be massive powerhouses of strength. Not only would this allow them a higher pain tolerance, but also allow them to have a higher chance of operating heavier machinery and a better chance of defeating an enemy in melee combat. This also increases the attacking strength of Jenrakian swordsmanship, another vital requirement of the military.

8) Speak fluent Ascheran.
Ascheran is what Jenrakian priests communicate through. Since Jenrak is the largest pure bred total theocracy in the world, most military campaigns are financed or controlled by the church. As such, soldiers are required to learn Ascheran as to understand the orders of their religious leaders.

Though any Jenrakian applying will have to meet these requirements, a Jenrakian can avoid these prerequisites by being scouted into the military.
