A small limber man walks onto the podium of Buckingham Palace, his thin face smiling at the rolling cameras of the BBC. Today in British politics was a rather momentous occasion; one that would be marked with traditional British indifference and apathy. Today His Majesty King George the Fifth, Emperor of India and protectorate of the African Dominion had authorised the re-opening of the Imperial borders.

For over twenty years now the Empire had been withdrawn from world trade, diplomacy and foreign affairs. Her borders remained closed to everyone, even the Kings closest of allies. But now, the lumbering giant was being forced from the bed, her mighty form pulling herself out of the self proclaimed solitude.

"Ladies and gentleman." Mavil Whetherly began to a flurry of lights. "It is with great joy and happiness that I announce His Majesties decision to reopen the Empire to foreign diplomacy. I have here a written statement from His Majesty the King." The adjutant lifted up a rather large piece of paper.

"My loyal subjects, today I am happy to bring you the news of the end of our noble states isolation in foreign politics. Today, I bring to you the new Imperial legacy on the world. Like my ancestors before me it has now come upon our shoulders to weather the storms that our small planet is now forced to endure; today I can report that the Empire is reinforcing our former foreign policy of democracy and world peace for the planet as a whole.

We will however not stoop the rigors of the United Nations, nor shall we embroil ourselves in foreign alliances destined to wrestle the glory of our eternal Empire. Instead my subjects the Empire will insure justice, security and peace wherever our noble hand reaches."

George turned off the television screen, the speech would continue for another five to eight minutes, the words filled with nothing but waffle and self proclaimed morality, but this new movement would surely cause a stir. George was always capable of rousing the international community.......

Empress Fujiko daughter of heaven looked at the news footage with interest and phoned the Shogun.

"Have you seen this she" she said and gave him a short summary since he hadn't.

"I would suggest opening up relations with the British Empire. they control India and we could break into that market which isn't too far away from us"

The Shogun agreed it was a good idea and she got on her computer composing an offical e-mail.

To : King George V
from : Fujiko, Empress of the Kirisuban Empire, daughter of heaven

I have consulted with my government and they would like to open relations with the mighty British Empire.

I can send my sister, the Crown Princess Genjiko to make the first contact or you could come to us.

I look forward to hearing from you.
