With the increasing strain on Otagia's power grid by ever increasing population and industrial growth, power outages have plagued Arcoblocks with extremely high frequency. With Otagia's conventional power grid strained to its limits, PRA set its top scientists to work to find a solution. And find one they did: The Otagian SuperGrid not only solves many of the country's issues with power supply, but also provides its mainly hydrogen-powered automobile industry with a major boost, allowing citizens to refuel their hydrogen cars at home!
The SuperGrid is composed of SuperCables, each one a work of art. The cables are tubes formed of superconducting metals, chilled by a steady stream of liquid hydrogen. With what amounts to zero resistance to electrical flow, the SuperCables transport electricity to those that need it, and hydrogen to fuel their vehicles' fuel cells. Each single cable is rated at five gigawatts.
Construction of the SuperGrid is scheduled to begin immediately, with primary waves of construction linking the outlying Arcologies, especially those located in the Southern Desert, to Arbite City, which will act as a hub for these lines. The increased influx of power from the massive solar farms and nuclear generators scattered across the desert is expected to sate Central's thirst for power for years to come.
