With the increasing strain on Otagia's power grid by ever increasing population and industrial growth, power outages have plagued Arcoblocks with extremely high frequency. With Otagia's conventional power grid strained to its limits, PRA set its top scientists to work to find a solution. And find one they did: The Otagian SuperGrid not only solves many of the country's issues with power supply, but also provides its mainly hydrogen-powered automobile industry with a major boost, allowing citizens to refuel their hydrogen cars at home!

The SuperGrid is composed of SuperCables, each one a work of art. The cables are tubes formed of superconducting metals, chilled by a steady stream of liquid hydrogen. With what amounts to zero resistance to electrical flow, the SuperCables transport electricity to those that need it, and hydrogen to fuel their vehicles' fuel cells. Each single cable is rated at five gigawatts.

Construction of the SuperGrid is scheduled to begin immediately, with primary waves of construction linking the outlying Arcologies, especially those located in the Southern Desert, to Arbite City, which will act as a hub for these lines. The increased influx of power from the massive solar farms and nuclear generators scattered across the desert is expected to sate Central's thirst for power for years to come.

Unfortunately producing hydrogen is not cheap. Hydrogen is an energy carrier and cannot produce energy by itself. You need a charge like methanol, solar, wind, or wave energy. We can offer something called a regnerative fuel cell station to charge your hydrogen pumps. This works using a combination of biomass, wave, OTEC, wind, geothermal taps, and solar to charge the hydrogen. http://www.fctec.com/fctec_types_rfc.asp

We apologise, but Pale Rider Arms already possesses several means to produce hydrogen. A large portion of the power saved by switching to superconductive methods has been alotted to electrolysis. Energy sources are primarily nuclear based, although wind and solar energy from Southern Desert installations provide a decent percentage.

Jake Dalen leaned back in his chair, sandalled feet sitting on his desk.

"So, tell me again how this is going to make us rich? Well, richer, but you get the point."

Daniel smiled, slowly sipping his Manhattan.

"Oh ye of little faith. I've told you, it'ss going to work, and work well."

"Yes, but go over it one more time, just for me."

"Fine, fine. Right, we control what, thirty percent of the power market at the moment?"

"That sounds about right. Still a controlling market share."

"True, but call me greedy, I want more. Now, is there anyone else in Otagia that can afford to build the SuperGrid?"

"Of course not. Runs trillions. Which is why I'm worried."

"Quit bitching and listen. Right, so we build the SuperGrid. Spend the few trillion, and now we're the source of the cheapest power in Otagia, as well as the most efficient supplier of hydrogen around. Undercut the competition by a good deal, and watch the others go under."

"Seems like an awful large investment to just get rid of the competition."

"Yes, but remember, there's three billion paying customers in Otagia. Now, the average consumer is going to pay around fifty Quetzales a month for power. Times twelves, that's six hundred a year. So, we make back almost two tril a year, minus operating expenses. Then we have hydrogen income..."

"Fine, fine, I get the point. We'll be making money. Just wish you'd have asked me before you made the decision. I do own five percent of PRA after all..."
