I have seen many things go wrong in Future tech, including Numerous ways of tech wanking and such, for me I simply ignore most of it, rping has gotten a little stale especially with big super alliances, We cant have a friendly war with out whining and bringing in mass allies any more, but that’s another subject, I’m here to tell you all that My nation is going in a new direction both in rping and in tech wanking if you can call it that.
First and foremost I’m getting rid of all these fancy shamncy words in my specs, and narrowing my weapon choices down, I will go with tech I know, quantum, anti matter and particle technology, solid tech that I can build to as much power as any other tech base out there, I will narrow down the weapon classes I use on my ships, so I don’t spend tedious amounts of time writing in every post the weapons and affects, its not only depriving to my energy and rp, it also detracts from the pulp of the post, I advise all people who want at least to have a good story to stop thinking so much on specs and numbers.
My rp will now focus on character building, foreign affairs, possibly some in nation rps, an of course war threads.
Battles I rp in will now focus on the reaction of crew, description of weapons fire, and more background stuff, like exploding ships , and tactics, for other players rp’ing with me this might seem a little odd, but rest assured Even though some times I will not post exact losses, I will still take losses, and I expect the other side to do the same if they are reasonable.
As for my nation, I have begun to change the name and the flag and possibly the government soon, I want to make it more futuristic and realistic form of government for an interstellar nation. It wont be a dictator ship or an empire, or any odd type of government, it will be a normal run of the mill democratic federation (common for human type nations), my government will nether be overly aggressive nor overly “goodie to shoes”, it will work with a big stick and diplomacy at the same time.
When Rping with me I would like to start seeing more effort put in to diplomatic situations and characters rather then If you don’t do this ill declare war and pwnt j00.. that’s just not good diplomacy and not a good way to get your nation on my governments good side.
As for ooc cluster fucks and such, I don’t want to be told or woven fingers at on how I should rp or post, or How much damage I should take from some wanky tech, I frankly don’t care, all I care about is posting and the rp involved, I admit I have a lot of work to do but it’s a 2 way street if the other side doesn’t want to focus on rp with me and just tech wank and whine when I don’t take “losses” that he or she says I should take because of said person tech, I’ll simply try to work it out, if that dose not help I will ignore the thread.
As for economics, icly I have done some things many nations dislike economically, but we will be trying to fix that, by trying to mend relations icly, and posting threads, but I need said nations cooprtations
As for OOC stuff I know I have not always been on the best terms with most people, and ooc relations seem to be what guide IC stuff at times, but I would hope these nations would at least try to take my olive branch.
My advice to new nations, don’t go down the same path I went down, tech wanking flaming oocly… claiming ridiculous crap icly, for them ost part if you focus on writing you don’t need it, I will just research upgrades to my tech base to make it as powerful as the other “Wanky” techs, regardless’ of others claims , I wont take insta kill damage, unless it’s a plot device, new nations should try this instead of trying to counter all this by tech wanking.
As for ic nation flaws, so far I have not rped any because I have not been rping in nation rps, I will be doing this soon and if you pay attention or mind you will notice one or 2 flaws.
As for tech threads, we’ll I will be posting one or 2 but I wont be keeping up much, I’ll try to this is the truth now that I have a job.. But to improve upon my current base tech I will try to make threads go on, so I wont look like I’m pulling things out.
