Timeline of Events to 2015
2005: President Álvaro Uribe Vélez is reelected as fear of criminal groups decreases and overall security in the nation as a whole increases. The Constitution is amended to allow a president to be elected for another consecutive term of 4 years.
2006: Military spending increases by 3%.
2007: The Colombian Liberal Party accuses Álvaro Uribe Vélez and his Colombia First Party of attempting to create a dictatorship in Colombia; Later in the year revolts begin with Horacio Serpa Uribe (head of the Liberal Party) leading the march on the capital of Bogota.
2008: President Vélez again increases military funding by .2%; More revolts in March, August and November; The Colombia First party again takes the presidency in the elections, the new president is Carlos Gonzalez, Although the Colombia First Party loses control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives to the Liberal Party, and the Democratic Pole, respectively.
2009: Two days after a July revolt, President Gonzalez is assasinated; vice President Diaz becomes President; Drug trafficing with Venezuela increases as Colombian drug gangs ship their product to the MS-13 gang in USA.
2010: President Diaz resigns from office and allows the Senate to take over the Presidency until the next election, many of President Vélez's and Diaz's policies are reversed.
2011: Voter turnout increases to an all-time high of 67%; a fierce campaign pits the Liberal Party against the Democratic Pole; eventually, the Democratic pole appears to take the lead in the polls; Finally, nearly a month late Horacio Duran of the Liberal Party is declared President.
2011-2012: USA bombs Pakistan and US sentiment skyrockets in much of Latin America. Crime rate drastically increases and President Duran continues to critisize the US and her allies, as most of the earth goes dark.
2013: Duran critisizes Venezuelan President Chavez as he imposes Martial Law;As US economy plummets, Drug trafficing decreases and gangs in Colombia triy to find other markets.
2013: Iran detonates a nuclear weapon, Israel pre-emptively attacks Iran. Colombia joins in UN forces against Iran, Colombian citizens are unusually supportive of the War against Iran.
2013: Horacio Duramn and new President Hugo Mendoza both support the Venezuelan riots and revolts against Chavez.
2014: Colombia is one of the last nations to sign the Iranian-Israeli Treaty and recognize the Palestinian State.
