The New Order Of Things.

Arenumberg

Cassius System, Roughly 1300 LY Away From The Ruined World Of Morwinya, Former Capital World Of The Imperial Republic Of Arenumberg.

For Reasons Unknown, The Imperial Republic had been attacked without warning by unspeakable horrors, The Death toll was immense, And Including those counted as missing - It surpassed 3 Billion Lives Lost. Many Had Fled, The resulting refugee fleet left to search for a new home, Although a people charged with age old arcane power, now unlocked, and still kept youthful by water from once sacred vales, The Fleet itself was beginning to falter.

The Cassius System had been left fallow by the first Elven pioneers who had discovered it, It was a system with a sentient species of its own upon some of the worlds, And that was the reason it had been left as such - But it was also one of the only habitable systems in reach of the former Imperial Republics failing refugee fleet.

The Planet Dubbed "Thalassi", A Word For Hope, Was chosen to become the new seat of a new power. Like Morwinya it was a ecological paradise, But the sentient species who inhabited the system (Each without knowledge of their neighbours, But all of the same race) were also found in their greatest numbers here.

The Species, Much like many of the races out there was human for most respects, But the fleet could not move on, What had to be done, had to be done.

A Race once dedicated to preserving lower lifeforms, The Elves who had came here descended upon the species who were only just dawning into the "20th Century" technological level. Using their new powers, They decimated and eradicated the entire Human populace on the planet.

Within a few short months, again using these new unstable powers, The Elves settled on Thalassi, Numbering just over 1.5 Billion they made new lives upon its surface, Rebuilding their Sacred Fountain Vales, They soon took to developing Cities who's very architecture depended on the arcane. The cities were also built with the best technology the elves could construct using the resources they had been so reckless in attaining.

-------------------------

The New Elvish Republic Blossomed, And, In the next few months, relocated a majority of the human population of the system to the life giving planet closest to the sun, The Rest they eradicated once more in their attempt to secure this fruitful system. Within Time, The Republic came to occupy all but the one planet which they had herded the former masters of this system onto.

A Former Admiral Of The Old Imperial Order finally broke away from the new republic during this rather sickening crusade. Taking others who felt the same "Grand Admiral" Relath and most of the remaining Fleet jumped into the abyss of space. His New Colony and people would come in time to call themselves the "High Caste", Forsaking their powers and building a technological utopia away from the eyes of those who would try to find them.

-------------------------

Governmental Halls, Elthrohir City, Capital Of The World Of Thalassi.

Grand Senator Ythera And Chancellor Tytheron had come to the helm of the fledgling republic in its first inception, They were for all intents and purposes its creators, But had been elected diplomatically.

Ythera herself spent most of her time in the halls of bureacracy as of late, Whilst Tytheron saw to the military and the nurturing of the arcane talent in the republic. But Ythera herself had thought the time had come to re-establish.. "foreign" relations.

She sat in her office, stark white Marble entwined with ochre ruby and gemstone was the order of decoration, A far cry from the Pale Blue gemstone and greyish stone of former Imperial architecture. She liked it.

She tapped a key on her desk computer, Her once fair eyes glared a brilliant green as she prepared for recording, The window behind her showed a view of the gardens and floating city "platforms", Held aloof with coalescing red ribbons of arcane energy. The sunlight almost on cue glinted off of her blonde hair and the ochre gemstones of the room as she began her recording.

"Friends, Allies, And those yet unknown, Many of you know what came to surpass in our nation quite some time ago, and thanks to the assistance of many of you, A fair few of our people are now alive today, who may not of been. After we left friendly space in search of a new home, for we did not wish to burden you, We settled here in this system, And we have rebuilt a new order of things. And this is why I extend this invitation to you all, You are hereby invited to visit the new seat of our power and to see what we have become - For those of you who we do not yet know, You too are invited to discuss matters of friendship and mutual advancement. We hope dearly that our great allies of the ESUS will endeavour to do their best to send a delegate. We here await your replies in great trepidation. Alassi Sinar Ethí, To you all."

She smiled as she tapped finish recording, and then in quick order going about the steps to transmit it. She rose from her seat, her red robes flowing about her form, she tapped the power down button before strolling out of the room.

Upon hearing of the refounding of the Arenumbergian government, Anikar had dispatched the eternal Diplomat General, Anariel, to renew the Arizonan embassy. There was nothing to note in the shuttle flight there - as Arenumberg's borders, other than still being disordered, were also fairly open on the Arizonan side. Koratu had been completely evacuated on the Arenumbergian side, and the Arizonans had inherited the planet. Khurgan had been victorious over the elves, caught unprepared and at peace, but had found death over Koratu at the hands of the awakened Second Fleet, as well as the many other ESUS nations assisting. Despite their magic and chaos, the Khurganate was beat back.

As Anariel walked through the city, though, she wondered if the madness of Khurgan had rubbed off. The elegant spires of the new Arenumbergian city were indeed beatiful, soaring, and even more organic in style than the older style common on Koratu. Yet Anariel felt something had changed. Death hung in the air - not the stench of it, or some battle-fog, but the slightest specter of it. This place was bought in seas of blood... and not all of it elven. She clutched her cloak tighter around herself and hurried to the halls of Arenumberg's government - Heren-Rondë. Anariel chuckled to herself - it would sound elegant enough to non-Elven speakers, but literally meant "Government halls."

As she neared the entrance, she spotted two heavily armed and armored guards at the entrance, their two-bladed swords crossed. As she approached, they drew them back and gave their assent for her to enter. She regarded them curiously - and warily - as she went within. Again, so unlike what she was used too, on Koratu. She caught the eye of one - glowing and intense shade of green. The pit of dread forming in her stomach intensified.

Planetary republic foreign affairs department shortly after the message broadcast:

A young but rather professional looking man by the name of Tomas hemington sat in a large metallic like leather like chair looking out the window in to a glorious view of a silver, white, chrome sky line, masses of sky scrapers air trams, shuttles and other things could be seen from the capital window, he sighed with a huff , as he swiveled his chair from the window, the sun light beading in and reflecting off the chair, the holographic intercom buzzed suddenly.

He looked over to it and tapped the paper thin button, a holographic figure of a rather old woman popped up, she started speaking in a rough but soft voice, saying “ Tom there’s a message from senatorial diplomatic command waiting for you.. Shall I patch it through ?”

Tom nodded his black hair shaking with his head as he peered down to the hologram, saying “yes Delores go-ahead”

The hologram disappeared and a message went up in its place, the computer AI reading it.

From senatorial diplomatic command:
Subject (diplomatic mission)

Dear ambassador Tomas hemington , the planetary republics has received a message from a rather old acquaintance, they call for a diplomatic meeting and relations, you have been chosen to facilitate our agenda and our olive branch if you will , you will leave immediately we have assigned a ship for you to travel in, good luck and good day

The URS Excalibur floated in the darkness of space, its large grey body reflecting the light of the stars, as its engines pushed the large ship towards the dark void, long streams of white and blue particles flowed from the back of it, its body shimmering slightly as it moved, its large body ripped through the dark lifeless vacuum…. Mean while inside this 1.9 km behemoth… life was enveloping the ship, from small plants sitting in corners of holographic windows, to full blown humans standing going about there business.

Tom stood on the large bustling bridge, his black suit glimmered slightly, he looked around peering at the chrome white scheme of the ship, white lights peered down upon him, and officers who walked by going about there duties, robotic as and androids walked behind engineers who were caring packs of tools.

He turned his head back, his tall body shimmering slightly in the light, he looked out his eyes panning the dark lifeless void of space .

The ship floated along, the commander stood behind tom and looked to the helm officer saying “Helm engage FTL jump….. Now!”

Suddenly the huge ships shimmered and disappeared in a white blue flash of light…

Ythera was once again in her office, The sun of this system was hanging at a level just about right to make the whole room seem bathed in a eerie red hue. She turned downwards to her desk computer and accessed it, Almost on cue, A message chimed in from the heavy doors infront of her.

She tapped a key on the keypad and the doors clicked slightly.

"Enter!" She called out to whomever her visitor was. A aide opened the door softly and entered the room, Stopping just short of the desk he adressed Ythera.

"Grand Senator, We have received a confirmation of attendance from... The Fedral Union, And we already have a visitor from our esteemed friends in Arizona Nova, She has indeed just entered the building, Should I dispatch her to you?" He said, rather softly.

Ythera smiled. "Ah, Very good. Oh yes, Indeed, do send her to me as soon as it is possible." She said, Smiling once more and nodding to the aide, Who took her note of dismissal.

The door clicked behind as he left, And Ythera turnt back to matters of state.

Grand Lobby, Heren-Rondë

Much Like the rest of the new style of architecture, The vast lobby of the rather bustling place of government was made up of marble, ochre red, and spiraling gold staircases. Set amongst it all was the main desk, Another set of gaurds, Numerous comfortable looking chairs and baroque style tables, Along with the ocassional exotic household plant or indeed, small tree.

An Aide stepped softly towards Anariel, who, although elven herself, stood out in a place she would of normally fitted into, Her hair did not seem to glow as brightly as the many elves who were making their way around, And of course, her eyes did not glare so brightly in a deep shade of green.

The Aide stopped short of her, Nodding slightly and smiling re-assuringly whilst his red robes caught up with his movement, The golden lining of the garment shimmered slightly with each movement he made, As he began to speak to the visitor.

"You are the Ambassador from Arizona Nova, I presume? You are the first to arrive, and as the delegate from our most esteemed and trusted ally, You will be treated to a private meeting with the Grand Senator, We apologise for the Chancellors current absence, but it could not be avoided. Please, Follow me" He said, signalling with his arm and walking briskly down a long corridor, The corridor itself was painted with what would be presumed were mythology, and it was, Many different shades of colour had been used to create the vast picture that seemed to go on forever.

The Aide stopped short of a door and signalled to the gaurds around it, He tapped a key and murmured something into a panel, Before the doors swung upon.

"Ambassador, You may enter. And I personally hope you enjoy your time here." He said, Before walking off into the distance.

Ythera sat, as she normally sat, before the window. She motioned to one of the seats placed infront of her desk, She took note of Anariels appearance and the fact that she herself was of elven origin, although of another race, that was obvious.

"Greetings Ambassador, Please take a seat, I trust your journey was a safe one. I am sure you have many questions and I will be glad to answer them, So Please feel free to do so, Oh how rude of me, Feel most free to get yourself any drink you may choose from my personal replicator just there, I beleive we have kept it up to date with Arizonan delights, although you may wish to sample some of ours!"

Ythera smiled and seated herself more comfortably, And prepared to hear what this ambassador had to say.

Anariel nodded. "Thank you, Lady Ythera. I must decline on drink, however, as I flew here myself." She looked at the elf, with the same eerie glow in her eyes and features that the others had - a little more intensely even. All this juxtaposed on the dying light of the sunset made the whole scene look oddly surreal. Anariel was more nervous at this meeting than she had yet been in her entire career.

"Much has changed since last I was in Arenumberg," she said. "Understandably so, considering your trials. I can't feel, though, that something hasn't gone wrong, at a fundamental level." Anariel caught Lady Ythera's eyes - glow or not. "It is in the air, in the buildings, and in you, Lady Ythera. Something fell is loose in the soul of Arenumberg, and I fear for you."

She got up, and looked out the window, over the landscape of the city and to Thalassi's horizon, her long sight catching details that would have been barely perceptible to anyone else. "How did you find this world? It is a gem, verily," though her voice rang hollowly. The dread was overtaking her.

Ythera sighed slightly.

"Indeed it is, We found this system quite some time ago, infact. You may of noticed our reason for not settling here, The first world of this system is inhabited by a strain of the Human species, And at that time we did not wish to impose ourself in a system they would one day come to own themselves."

Ythera smiled, attempting to placate the Ambassador.

"But we simply had no choice when it came to the time to settle, our fleet was running out of supplies and power and this was the only life giving system in range, So thats how that was decided."

Ythera stirred slightly, She knew Anariel was inquisitive and that she would discover sooner or later the truth, But she would deal with that when and if the time came.

"You seem uneasy, And.. I do not blame you, I beleive I owe you an explanation, Of course. So I shall provide one."

Ythera sighed once more, before speaking again.

"Ages ago, in our ancient past, We were a .. race of beings that wielded the arcane magics found in the spirit of this galaxy. We became powerful because of it, And we prospered whilst the humans of our former homeworld, Feraul, continued their nomadic existence. We came to live longer, to learn more... But we became too... addicted, to it. We even came close to wiping out all other species on Feraul, but we cast down our powers just in time to save ourselves.. We became tied to the arcane waters of a sacred fountain buried underground. And we took to technology with our human allies, we prospered.. And when we left Arenumberg we took some of that sacred water with us to Morwinya, where we luckily created another vale to sustain our existence."

Ythera stopped, Letting Anariel soak in the information.

"When Morwinya was threatened, I left with another vial of the sacred waters to create another fount of power to sustain us in the future. The Chancellor, Tytheron, However, unlocked our ancient dormant powers over the arcane in an effort to save our homeworld, And whilst he inflicted great losses on the enemy, It was in the end in vain, Although it allowed him and many thousands to escape the final slaughter. Every river, lake and particle of water on this planet has now been infused with that vial of water I took, this entire planet is now our "Vale" so to speak. And that is why we are now so powerful here. And we as a people now have a new path to take. And that is why we have changed so much from what you are accustomed to. But please, have no fear. You will not come to harm here, no-one else will, I promise you that."

Ythera paused uneasily, Realising the partial error she had made by mentioning "no-one else will". But she hoped it had gone unnoticed.

"I hope that I have placated your unease for now, Please.. Seat yourself again, Im sure there is still other matters you wish to discuss."

The ships suddenly appeared just out side the system, its faster than light drive shutting down, its long gleaming dark grey body shined in the light from the stars, it shimmered as it moved along towards the inner of the system, long streams of blue and white particles flowing behind it lighting up the rear of the vessel.

The ship was flowing towards the planet its body cutting across the lifeless void , its hull lights slightly blinking, the flag of the republics on each side of the ship, its red blue, and white stars glimmering slightly as it moved forth.

On the bridge tom looked out panning his eyes towards the planet, he chuckled a little and looked over to the com officer saying “hail them…”

The con officer taped his holographic paper thin console, and communications went up.
Tom looked over and started to speak in a professional, but lively voice, his body shimmering in the light “This is the URS Excalibur, we have arrived to deliver the Unionist delegate to your nation, and we hope we are not intruding”

The comn cut, the ship raced forward its engines cutting off the particle streams slightly fading in the darkness of the space as it floated glimmering slowly closer and closer to the planet…

Anariel turned away from the window and seated herself again.

"Well," she began, "we certainly had good relations with the government you are succeeding. Since it is Chancellor Tytheron leading now, of course, it's mainly the bureacracy that has changed in that technical sense. However, you lost all your domains during the Khurganate War aside from Koratu? The loss of Koratu on your end has also offered its share of hardships to us - other than the chaos in the evacuations made off the planet, a great source of trade has dried up. Many corporations and merchants are jobless, and our stock market even took a dive - not that I'm even suggesting that our hardships can hold a candle to your own, but I hope you know that we are hurting with you, and we will do whatever we can to help you rebuild in this time."

She paused to collect her thoughts. She did not quite know where she was going with this - where could she go? The devastation here was considerable, and picking a direction to help the recovery was difficult as so many of them demanded attention.

"Your military, too, was devastated during the war, was it not? If that is the case, the Arizona Novanian Empire can offer help... I hate to say 'protection' as it sounds so mobsterish. It is a concern, though... battered as it may be, the Khurgan military is still probably out there somewhere. I do not doubt they will want revenge, if not now then someday."

Ythera Smiled.

"Allow Me.. I Apologise for the .. lesser hardships that you have suffered, for they are still hardships none the less, And for that you have ou.."

The Console in the desk beeped slightly, Ythera frowned slightly and tapped a key, The Interface coalescing inbetween the 2.

"Sorry.. Please excuse me for one second.. What Is It?" Ythera asked.

"The Federal Union Delegate has arrived, they are requesting permission to land, Of course." Came a voice.

"Allow It, And Please, Do not interrupt me again, I trust you to accept delegates without my authorisation from this moment.." Ythera said, slightly annoyed. Her eyes narrowed somewhat to display her displeasure at being interrupted.

"Of Course.." The Console beeped again, Ythera quickly tapped the key and the interface disappeared as fast as it had come.

Ythera turned back to Anariel.

"Sorry about that, Yes.. Where were we? Oh Yes.. Please, accept our sympathy on that matter. And allow me to thank you for your gracious offer of military assistance, to phrase it even more diplomatically."

Ythera chuckled slightly, But then turned to look at Anariel seriously.

"Whilst your offer is indeed kind and generous, there is something we wish to place on the table to you. A very interesting, mutually beneficial and somewhat unique idea, I would like to think... Ah, Dont say anything, allow me to explain."

Ythera smiled again, and reached for a glass of some unknown substance, she sipped it slightly and placed the glass back on the table.

"You really should have some, its pleasing to the pallette.. Oh yes.. Recently, The Military issue and the fact we are becoming low on basic metal resources and such has come to the forefront of Senate discussions, and there was something brought up concerning your government and indeed your nation... I will not delay this for much longer, But I feel there are somethings I need to say..."

Ythera tapped a key, the console coalesced once more and she tapped a few other keys.

"Ah, Forgive me once more.. Our nations have been living alongside each other for some considerable amount of time, We have influenced each other, aided each other, Become somewhat reliant upon each other, And it has been very beneficial for us both, I would like to think, We may not meet in diplomacy and other matters as often as we would like, But our citizens have benefited every day, none the less. And our new home is now considerably closer to you than before, and may soon start to expand into territory that you would probably consider sovereign, And that is something we also wish to avoid. It is with full senate, military and civilian backing that I make this offer to you, Ambassador Anariel of The Imperial Autocracy Of Arizona Nova, The Republic Of Arenumberg offers you this..."

She tapped a key on her console once more, and information started to filter onto the console on the side facing Anariel.

"We wish, with your careful consideration and acceptance, To enter into a full union.. A full military economic agreement.. Society and Culture.. Everything.. Forgive me.. Consider it.. a Federation.. That is our offer, To join our two prosperous and allied states into a stronger, more powerful and even more prosperous entity, To bring a unique and powerful nation to the forefront of both of our hardships and trials..."

Ythera paused and studied Anariel for a moment.

"I will say no more on this, I will allow you to think upon it yourself.."

Anariel's eyes widened as the data and much more so, the implications of this request sank in. Indeed, the character of her reply would undoubtedly alter the course of history for centuries to come; for a span of time that would be long even for her. She was expecting many things, but this...

"Well, this is unprecedented. Never before in negotiations have I received offers of... federation."

She considered it as best she could. All Arizonan diplomats were required to learn a set of codes that they could dial into a communicator, if the situation demanded immediate attention. There were codes for emergency extraction, for first contact, and some for the terms of high-stakes diplomacy so they could be communicated back as quickly as possible. There was no code for this. There was no amalgamation of codes even.

"This is indeed a matter which requires deep consideration. What you're offering is of far more enormity than mutual defense; it is something on a scale we have not seen since the Unification Treaty one thousand years hence. It will require much careful consideration, especially by my superiors. I do hold high authority within my own homeland... but for something like this, I would want to make sure they are all fully clue-ed in."

She thought some more, and then said,

"However, I can tell you this. I, and many others along with me, would not be opposed to such a union. For my part, I will also endeavor as strongly as I am able to see this done. I may not have the Empress's ear, but I have a feeling that I may persuade her. It will be difficult, to do this - ever in history, to get any sentients to submit their pride towards the fulfilment of a greater vision has been difficult - but not impossible. You have my personal support, Lady Ythera, that much I can say."

Ythera nodded and smiled.

"Very Good... If there is anything else you wish to discuss then please do so, And you may use this console if you need to, Otherwise, You may leave and reconvene with me at a later time, or indeed, if more delegates turn up, at a more.. official event." Ythera said.

She had taken the first step and it had been reciprocated.. The easy part was over.

Diplomatic visits. They were one of the very few things that the Corporation truly looked forward to in interstellar relations. It was a chance for it to experience the wide variety of other cultures, form solid friendships with other leaders, and to lend assistance to those that needed it. But as with anything, there was always a downside. Previous visits to other nations had left the Corporation tangled in wars and other conflicts that only served to isolate it from actively participating in the affairs of the galaxy. Such things would be avoided if possible for the recent loss of over a hundred thousand people aboard the NGSS Zereul and its ten battleships had left a pain in the hearts of the people. No one wanted to experience that again.

Representing the Corporation for this particular visit was not a high-ranking ambassador as what had always been done. But instead the Vice Chairman, Shiran Naelthasser, was in his place, to the surprise of those around him. Many would wonder why a leader such as himself would be sent to this meeting, but a clear answer would not be given for at this point, nothing was certain. The Corporation was changing, new things were being introduced, old things were being swept away. It was a sign of the times.

Shiran attempted to push all these troubles out of his mind as he stepped into the Grand Lobby of the Heren-Rondë. He felt it would be wrong to bother these people with the Corporation’s problems for he knew that they had experienced enough in recent times. A slight sigh came from his mouth as the tall golden-haired Noldo gently brushed the wrinkles out of his tan robes and gazed around at the sights and sounds of the lobby around him. It struck him as being quite beautiful and even made him pause from what he was doing to take it all in. He found it rather refreshing to see how a people could rebuild to such elegance after what had happened to them. A small smile came across his face as he continued to admire it all, and he lost track of what he was supposed to be doing there.

Anariel returned Lady Ythera's nod, though her face was more serious. It was not the news was not happy, or that the idea displeased her - but the enormity of its significance loomed before her in her mind.

"Thank you Lady Ythera. I feel, however, that this news is of too much significance to be left to text or holographic messages. I must relay this personally to my people. For the moment, I must part company with you, but I do not doubt we shall see each other again. Goodbye, and peace be with you."

She collected her things, and started back out toward her own ship. As she passed through the lobby, she noticed a tall, golden-haired elf, seemingly meandering as if lost in thought - whose eyes did not glow. She was tempted a moment to see who it was, but her inner compulsion to her duty, and the great task ahead of her, tugged at her. She simply caught his eye and gave him a polite nod as she passed out through the lobby doors into the Thalassi twilight.

OOC: Sorry for my absence, NG, you can assume you've been invited in to see Ythera.. sorry about this :(.OOC: That's alright. No big deal. I haven't been that active either with my long work days this past week. I'll try to get a post up Thursday afternoon or evening (EST of course). And I'll just insert it below this OOC message in the same post so as to not bog this RP down with OOC mess.

IC: The Vice Chairman’s concentration on the design of the Grand Lobby was soon broken by the appearance of Anariel. Immediately noticing her, he smiled a little to the Arizonan diplomat out of politeness and nodded his head as she passed by. But he said not a word to her though, for through observing her facial expressions and body movements, she appeared to have important things on her mind.

It took only a minute after her departure for his mind to begin wandering again, lost again in one of his great passions, architecture. But this time, fortunately, he did not linger for long on such things as it was promptly stopped by an aide who had just stepped up next to him. He once again turned his attention from the room and, after the usual introductions between the two, he was escorted to the Grand Senator’s office.

--------------------------------------------------------------

As had been expected, Shiran found the Grand Senator’s office to be quite magnificent by the standards that he had been used to but this time he did not allow his mind to stray into examining it. Instead, he focused to the matter at hand, this meeting he was attending.

“Greetings and salutations, Grand Senator,” he said kindly as his head bowed. “I am Shiran Naelthasser, Vice Chairman of the Northrop-Grumman Corporation. It is certainly a pleasure to meet some more of our ESUS allies face-to-face.”

Ythera smiled at the man, and motioned to the chair opposite her.

"Mr Naelthasser, I Am Pleased to meet you, and indeed, I am sure you know of me, as you are here."

She chuckled slightly and smiled again.

"If you wish for refreshment then just ask.. I understand that you have some questions, of course, everyone does, and that is why they are invited, So Please, feel free to ask anything."

Ythera smiled once more at the man again, and patiently awaited his responses.

As he began to sit down, Shiran waved his hand slightly. “I believe I will pass on the refreshments, at least for the moment. But perhaps later I could try one of your nation’s native drinks. It would certainly be interesting.”

The elf brushed his long hair away from his face and continued. “First off, I must say that I am quite impressed by the structures on your planet. The craftsmanship that has gone into them is unlike anything that I have seen in decades, perhaps centuries. It is quite refreshing for me to experience this, especially since the sterility of the Corporation’s architecture can be rather cold and depressing. I honestly wish that we would consider a new style of design something more…elegant perhaps.”

Realizing that he accidentally skipped over the question that he was meaning to ask, he paused for a moment and finally asked. “How did your people accomplish it in such a short amount of time?”

OOC: Sorry about the late post. My internet connection was down for over 24 hours.
