Eagle's Hope
An Eastern European Arcology
Story of its Creation
Eastern Europe was hit hard by the Comet. As the land heated up, most of the flora and fauna of the area died, as they were adapted to cold weather. Years of political and social turmoil boiled over, and civil war reigned in the area. Yet, there were survivors of the ensuing chaos.
There are always survivors.
They rallied under the banner of a man who promised to lead them to safety. For years, they followed him. They pacified their neighbors, and convinced them to join in their goal of having a safe, comfortable home. And, for decades afterwards, they worked, gathering steel and concrete, shaping it, laying it. And, slowly, the Arcology grew.
Upon its completion, it was named Eagle's Hope, and still it stands, protecting its occupants.
Overview -
With a steadily growing population of 453,200 people, Eagle's Hope is a large, industrious settlement. It's people follow a religion that vaguely resembles Eastern Orthodoxy, but is more liberal, and is influenced by the Comet. They are led by General Pavlov, and a civilian council of 10 elected members.
The Eagle Army is large for modern standards: It maintains an infantry force of 70,000 soldiers, backed up by nearly 100 Russian tanks. They are capable desert and urban fighters, and are renowned for their bravery and loyalty under fire.
General Pavlov is a capable leader, often putting the needs of the people over his own ambitions. As such, the civilian council makes most of the decisions of the government. However, when a foreign threat becomes urgent, he always takes control of the Arco, and keeps control until the enemy is pacified.
