Many lives had been lost, much turmoil experienced, but the hardwork and sacrifice of the people had finally paid off. Since the holocaust, a few of the survivors had been rallied under an idealist, who spoke of a way to escape the hell that had settled upon the planet, and avoid dealings with the other waring cities and those barbaric gangs that ravaged them.
Great beams of steal, gained through tremendous effort and bloody fights with others, now formed the skeleton of the city. The new deserts created by the disaster afforded much material to create the thousands of glass panels that made the skin of the settlement, and by the grace of God grass seeds had been recovered, enough to afford the people the ability to grow an entire medow within the dome. Sapplings had been brought as well, and now miniture forests were growing all around, and the scarce wood left on the surface collected to create small houses, quantity enough for all the families that came to be apart of the dream.
A green new world, constructed under the sea and protected by the glass and steal dome that surrounded it. A small settlement within the middle of it, situated around a river that was created by an ingenious design that allowed just enough water to run into the dome, and which passed through a cleaning facility before reaching the city. The rest of the land was forests, crops, and meadows, a true utopia in the carnage that raged on earth. The three submarines that had been salvaged served as means of transportation outside the city, and they used these to bring small amounts of livestock that would eventually grow and be able to serve the needs of all within the settlement.
It was ignorant of the strife that occured on the surface, bliss within itself, it was New Atlantis.
