The Byzantine Resurgence

Byzantinia Nova
20-06-2006, 22:50
In 1204, some Byzantines fled from Constantinople and from the Latin crusaders who were seizing the Queen of All Cities. They were led by some connected to Byzantine royalty and nobility. They sailed the many seas till they found land. Women and children and other citizens made camp along with others, at least they planned to. They were greeted by officals of the
Armavians.

The Byzantines soon made peace with them and one Byzantine girl married the Armavian ruler. With Byzantine assistance, the Armavians took over all the lands and created an Armavian Empire. The Armavians were a Christian people and some did go to Byzantine Christianity.

1453 brought the end of Byzantium completely and refugees soon found Armavia. Armavia would allow these refugees. The Palaeologus and others made residence in Armavia.

Armavia soon went under a Byzantine Renissance when Byzantine ways spread out. However, Armavian culture still is around too, in fact the Tale of the Queen of the Dark (similar to the story of the Brothers Grimm movie a little, I suppose) was written down fully by Sirius the Scholar. The tale depicts a Queen taking girls in order to take their energy or youth to make her less old. In the end, she is deposed by Armin and Pharonius, two men hired by a village to stop her.

The tale also has a king who was under her control who breaks away, especially after hearing she killed his daughters. The girls she had tooken were found in tombs but were still living. The tale ends with celebration for Armin and Pharonius.

I will do more info later on Armavia. I hope to do good on NS, I am a newbie here.
