ooc: Are these islands inhabited on EII? criticism of the ORBAT welcome, I'm trying to iron out any problems at the moment
ic:
The Neuvo Rican taskforce had set out from Mauritius, heading for the Crozet islands in the southern Indian Ocean. The sudden collapse of Huahin meant that Pacifinesian influence in the area would have to be reinforced.
ORBAT:
Navy:
1x Ynoga Class Assault Carrier (Airwing =8 F-29A, 2 SH-60J, 3 CH-53N, 1 AH-1W)
2x Tarawa Class Amphibious Assault Carriers (Airwing = 6 AV-8BII+, 5 CH-53N, 2 AH-1W, 8 SH-60J)
2x Spruance Class Destroyers (2 SH-60J)
5x Duke Class Frigates (1 SH-60J)
16x Toltec Class Amphibious Transports
Marines:
1400 Marines (35 Equipped with HVM SAM units)
120 Engineers
12 M1A1 Main Battle Tanks
35 M1 Bradley IFVs
28 LAV-25
30 M113A APC
24 L119 Light Towed Howitzer
12 M56 Pack Howitzer
56 Humvee (Of Which 20 are Linebackers)
68 Other Trucks
Airforce:
2 Airborne Regiments (On Mayotte)
45 C-130J-30 (On Mayotte or Mauritius)
14 KC-130 (On Mauritius)
2 E-3 Sentry (On Mayotte)
35 F-16 Block 50 (On Mayotte)
Under Command of Admiral Sanchez, the force was well underway to the islands. Within 12 hours, the helicopters would be in range of the isolated rocky outposts. The naval force was not exactly equipped to fight any sea battles - not that it expected to. The significant Neuvo Rican naval presence in the Indian Ocean islands to the north would be enough to deter any would be attackers. Two F-29s from the Nuevo Leon - the Ynoga class carrier, made first visual on the islands. The westernmost - Ile aux Cochons, or the Isle of Pigs - the third largest of the islands came into view. Just one more hour, and the CH-53Ns could begin deploying troops to the islands.
