Okay, first thing to remember is I got glassed, and I'm rapidly updating a native populace, so I'm not anywhere near at full strength. More coming rapidly.

Homeland Defenders:

Due to the fact that the industrialization of New Aeson is still underway, there is, as of yet, no offensive army. The Homeland Defenders Corp is made up of the New Aesonic Army, who underwent rapid training in the firing and care of firearms.

The standard armament is a gun fundamentally the same as the AK-47. However, each sector (see organization, coming soon) has a number of mortar teams, and a few tanks. Artillery training is currently underway.

What should really be remembered is that these men are all assigned to areas near their homes, which has two effects. One, every battle is personal, they’re protecting their homes and families, and two, they generally know the area well, often having grown up in it.

Airships are fine for leisurely transport, yes. And sure, you could slap some guns on. But you know that the enemy is just going to blow it up… right?

Wrong. To begin with, non-flammable helium is used, with only a tiny reduction in power. Second, the helium gas is contained in multiple, self sealing cells. This is all standard procedure for zeppelins today. Specific zeppelins, up next.

Three zeppelins are currently in use by the Aesonic Military. The first is a radar zeppelin, the SkyEye. It essentially fills the role of a radar base, with the primary differences being (A) it is mobile, and (B) it uses radar to both look up and around itself, and lookdown radar to detect planes flying below standard radar levels.

Each SkyEye carries two air to air missile launchers, and ten missiles. In addition, doctrine calls for SAM sites to be placed nearby, when possible.

These are currently being placed, as they are manufactured, in a picket formation around the Aesonic Coast, in such a way as to minimize blind spots. In addition, they are being placed over major cities.

The Ground Support Zeppelin is exactly what the name implies. It flies at a significantly lower height than the Air Support and SkyEye Zeppelins, but contains about the same amount of helium, as it is quite the heaviest.

The Ground Support Zeppelin carries four 40 caliber auto cannons, five grenade launchers, six air-to-ground missile launchers, with a complement of forty missiles, and one air-to-air launcher, with five missiles.

It is also generally protected by one or more Valkyrie fighters.

Crew: 18 (Pilot, Copilot, thirteen gunners, engine man, radar man, comm officer)

Air Support Zeppelin

Like the Ground Support Zeppelin, the name says all that really needs to be said. Containing numerous ballast bags so that it can raise and lower itself, the Air Support Zeppelin is designed to protect the area where it is tethered against aerial assault.

Generally the Air Support Zeppelin will be tethered above important sites. These include major shipyards and oil fields, military bases, and major cities. There is also talk of tethering some above major fleets to support carriers.

In addition, at such a time as New Aeson does fight an offensive war, Air Support Zeppelins may be tethered above Aesonic controlled locations in disputed territory.

The Air Support Zeppelin carries two machine guns, as well as eight air-to-air missile launchers, with a complement of sixty missiles.

Crew: 7 (Pilot, Copilot, Engine man, Radarman, three gunners)

There is, at the moment, only one of these in existence, tethered over the capital city. It is, as the name suggests, a larger, better armed version of the Air Support Zeppelin. In addition, both the gas chambers, and the basket are heavily armored.

The Heavy Air Support Zeppelin carries twelve machine guns, each with an individual gunner, ranged around the basket to give the best vantage possible. It also carries twenty air-to-air missile launchers, with a complement of a full two hundred missiles. In addition, it carries a missile defense CIWs system.

To begin with, there are two primary groups, the Homeland Defenders, which encompasses the army and air force, and the Aesonic Naval Defence Force, which includes the navy and the Holy Marine Corps.

The Homeland Defenders are divided first into four Quadrants, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest. There are approximately six million troops (please understand that logistics personell are included in that number) in each of these quadrants. A Quadrant General presides over each of these. Inside those quadrants are divided up into subquadrants under the same designations. Each subquadrant is commanded by (go figure) a Subquadrant General, and consists of about 1,500,000 men.

Each subquadrant is, in turn divivided up into ten areas of 150 thousand men each. Each of these is commanded by an Area Commander.

Each area is divided up into one hundred sectors, each under the command of a Sector Commander. Each sector contains fifteen groups of one hundred men, each under the command of a Centurion.

Yep. That reminds me, I've got to go make another order.

MXX Stiletto (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10970465&postcount=190)
One of the few designs surviving unaltered since the Kraven Cleansing, the MXX Stiletto is again being produced. It is currently being used as a patrol and interdiction ship, and does not generally carry the complement of marines it was intended to.

Using the same M hull as the MXX Stiletto, the guardsman was primarily designed as a patrol ship. It is outwardly almost identical to the MXX Stiletto, except that it is somewhat smaller. Inside, most of the space which, in the Stiletto was designated for the marines is taken up by sensitive sonar, radar, ladar, and IR equipment.

OOC: I've got to be honest with you the weapons you buy from me especially in the AKM category are the AK-47, the AKM, Type 56 rifle, and the KF1. The Type 56 is differentiated by its permanentaly attached spike bayonet and the KF1 has a permanent Rifle Grenade sight on it and has a different style of iron sight. They all perform about the same so the difference is minor and a mild inconvience in spare parts though they all share 95% commonality.

The Makouki mountains are practically impassable, cutting a swath across a large part of New Aeson, and marking the southern boundary of the Northeast quadrant. However, it is more than simply a mountain range.

Over thousands of years, and taking advantage of a natural system of caverns, a huge tunnel network was carved out of the mountains, all entrances concealed. Only a few men who grew up in the mountains can accurately find their way through the Makouki mountains, and the existence of the tunnels is a state secret, as it is clearly seen that this could be a huge tactical advantage.

The Panther Class Submarine was on the drawing boards before the Kraven Cleansing, and is now being produced. It utilizes many of the same stealth technologies as stealth planes, including its Delta Wing shape, IR supression, anti-sonar paint, and Chameleon reflection technology. It has eight forward torpedo tubes, and carries anti-shipping and hull breaker torpedoes to be used against large ships.

Meanwhile, there is a top secret volunteer program called Weapon Plus. The objective of Project Plus is to create 'modified soldiers'. Short term goals include titanium laced bones, psychological modification, and technological enhancement. Long term goals include Genetic Engineering, decentralized nervous system, organ redunancy, and full techno-organic intergration.

If you think you've got the drop on a Shadowman, it's only because his
mate's right behind you.

A drill instructors advice on why not to pick a fight with a Shadowman
while on leave

The Shadowmen are an elite force. They have been trained to the utmost in hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship with weapons ranging from longbows to pistols to sniper rifles to throwing knives, guerilla and insurgency techniques, urban warfare, assassinations, domestic terrorism and counter terrorism, and improvisation in creating weaponry, ranging from the best ways to sharpen a coin into a deadly blade to making chemical weaponry and explosives out of ingredients that can be purchased from any normal hardware or department store.

The standard Shadowman kit includes,

A pistol, usually with a silencer
An assault rifle, also often silenced
Enough C-4 to destroy five average tanks
Multiple throwing knives, which can be poison coated at the Shadowman's discretion
One or more fighting knives, usually at least one of which will use a stone blade to allow it to bypass metal detectors
A canteen
Flint and iron
