With the recent Valdra Accords signed between Scandinva and Latyaq. In order further cement this alliance the Emperor of Scandinva has decided to visit Latyaq to meet with the leaders their. The hopes of this trip were for the people and leaders of both nations to become closer…

So now the Emperor in his private jet landed at Al Iskandariyah. Coming to a complete stop on the runway the doors of the jet opened and the landing stairway went down. Before the Emperor went a dozen of his elite personal bodyguards dressed in traditional battle armor. After them the Emperor emerged into out of the plan and stepped out…

OOC: Sorry for this being a little sloop I typed it rather quickly.

Mahmoud Nejad, the Prime Minister of Latyaq was the first to greet the Emperor. He said a traditional Arabic greeting: As-Salamu Alaykum. He brought the Emperor to his car, and told the driver to go to the Palace of Latyaq.

Inside the car Emperor Reginald said,” Greetings Prime Minister Mahmoud Nejad, I have had a good experience in your nation so far and I must say it is rather beautiful.”

Mahmoud Nejad's response: "We are only driving through the safest, most beutiful districts. My greatest challenge as Prime Minister is to clean up this city, which is rather messy. Most of it is slums and poverty and crime is widespread. Most of the country is better, but not by much though. When the government has enough money, we will turn the whole city to be even better then what you have seen. We are hoping to gain the money by forming alliances with friendly nations, and selling our oil. This city is also a port city, and we also want to develop the ports. They can help us too."

Emperor Reginald replied,” My Empire is more than willing and capable to help you clean out the city. We can do this having some of our wealthier own citizens move in permanently or by building vacation/business homes in your city. As well, I can allocate Imperial funds to help your nation build up and also can send groups of Imperial engineers help you to construct the ports you need. Also, all the ports of the Empire are now open to your people.”

There is no need to move your citizens there, unless it is their choice of course. We would be happy to accept funds and engineers. One of the very first things we must do is to build up a police force. Fortunately, we have little trouble finding new recruits because it is employment for poor people who want to get the criminals off the street. We have already reserved some area for jails and the police are getting weapons. There are about 10,000 police throughout the country. One of our bigest problems is that they are undertrained, and underdisiplined. However, things are going right. Many new recruits are joining, and we are increasingly able to train and fund them. It is great that you have opened up all the ports for us. It will help.

“If you desire I can send a number of Imperial Army and Police trainers to your nation to help train and install discipline in your police if you want. As well, the Empire can supply them with superior weaponry if you need to better arm them.

As for my Empire’s ports your ships will be welcomed in any that have room to take them.”

The car arrives at the Palace of Latyaq. They step out of the car, and the huge palace of Latyaq is before them. There are many Latyaqi guards. The President of Latyaq, Abdul Ahmad, greets the Emperor.

The night before

A small convoy lead in by two black humvees enter a small town just over the border. A mercenary, dressed in black BDU's, and carrying a G36E assault rifle, steps from the lead Humvee, and approaches a man sent out to meet him. "Did you bring the weapons" asks the smaller man. "Yea, they are in the trucks. Have your boys start unloading them, and keep in touch." the mercenary replied.

The men in the villages quickly unloaded boxes from the trucks, and the trucks then drove away, back over the border. The boves were filled with AR-550's, G36E's, RPG-7's, Javelins, an assortment of explosives, some Lewisite gas, and a few 82mm mortars.

Presently

The airport was peaceful, just like any other day. Suddenly, the silence was shattered. A brown sedan flew through the fence, and smashed into the security office, exploding seconds later. Behind it, four vans sped up to the main terminal. Seven men wering black balaclavas, and brandishing G36E's hopped out of each, and ran into the terminal. A guard inside was shot dead, as were a number of other bystanders. "Everyone down now!" a man yelled, firing into the air.

In Al Iskandariyah, four explosions smashed through an industrial area of the city, as car bombs went off in quick succession. Downtown, a bomb exploded in a bust office building, and a Lewisite cloud began to form.

On television sets around the country an image flashed across screen saying:

During the meal, Mahmoud Nejad gave the Emperor some news.

"Thank you very much for your gifts. Because we now have much money, I will begin building the army. I will announce the news to Al Latyaqiyah after the meal. Let us shake hands."

The two leaders shake hands, while photographers from Al Latyaqiyah took pictures.

"I already have a few soldiers. If you would like, I can show you."

The Latyaqi security forces came in. There were 25 of them, each with an AK-47 and soem grenads. They pointed their AK-47s at the rebels, and ordered them to surrender.

In Al Iskandariyah, four explosions smashed through an industrial area of the city, as car bombs went off in quick succession. Downtown, a bomb exploded in a bust office building, and a Lewisite cloud began to form.

Unfortunately the industries had tanks full of fuel. This caused fires that burned large areas of the city. The young firefighter regiment was only able to slow the advance

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Nejad was showing Emperor Reginald some of his troops:

In the city, as the firemen came, a trap was set out for them. An RPG was fired from the 3rd floor of a nearby building, and smashed into the lead fire truck. A group of heavily armed men then ambushed the other trucks, and began taking the firefighters hostage.

Al Latyaqiyah news,

The President has just announced reforms to bring our army to 50,000 men in just 1 month, 100,000 men by 2 months, and 500,000 men in 6 months. He says he'll accomplish that by aid from our allies, The Scandinvans.

Until then, he has allowed the Scandinvans to send 50,000 troops to Latyaq. He also announces that there are terorists, and the Scandivan troops will help deal with this threat. Citizens have been put on high alert.

Many critics fear that 500,000 men in 6 months is unrealistic, and we can only have that many troops in about a year.

Latyaqi generals are also planning about the structure of the army. The proposal included this:

20,000 Infantry
10,000 Anti-Tank weapons
100 tanks (3 men each)
150 armored cars
5000 machine gunners (2 men each)
100 fighter planes
50 bomber planes (4 men each)
50 helicopters (2 men each)
total: about 50,000 men.

The rebels had taken over a number of towns around the country side. From these towns, attacks were launched against dozens of Scandinavian convoys. Entire strips of highway were lined with IED's, and were so dangerous, no civilian car drove down them.

Al Iskandariyah had streets lined with snipers, and anyone crossing would be shot dead. These sniper alleys were becoming more and more common in the slums of the city. The entry to these streets were also lined with IED's, and RPG troopers guarded the roofs. A number of men rolled up to the main police building in the city, and tossed Lewisite canisters into the window. They then donned gas masks, and rushed in, killing an unlucky souls to be still suffering from the gas. Once inside, numerous prisoners were freed and rearmed, and the police building was truned into something of a fort.

Outside the city, Qassam rockets were assembled, and together with mortar fire, began slamming into parts of the city.

IC: Imperial Special Forces now began to be deployed throughout Al Iskandariyah in response to the new attacks. The Special Forces now had succeeded in taking many key points throughout the city and killed many hundreds of their enemies.

In support Imperial regulars patrolled the streets and now killed any non-military person that carried a weapon in public after curfew. As well, they began to seize all the neighborhoods one by one successfully.

IC: The Imperial regular soldiers fought fiercely in house to house fighting encountering heavy resistance in a number of different neighborhoods throughout the capitals. Dozens of regulars went down either died, wounded, or dying. Yet, due to their training they pushed on not fearing death because they knew that if they failed their Emperor might be put at risk. To protect the Emperor a regiment of the most feared, for many reasons, and most skilled soldiers in the Empire were brought in to protect them.

As fierce gunbattles were being waged in the streets of the city, and the rebels were losing ground, Qassam and mortar fire picked up, and ambushes on convoys increased by 10%. This would most likely be a bloody, bloody war.

OOC: Since my brain is working I wish to know do you have any plans if make me withdraw or are you doing in revenge or are you just doing it for the fun of rping?

IC: The mortar fire for the most part took out only a number of soldiers due to the regular soldiers taking cover whenever they heard mortar fired at them, but it did take its toll by causing a number of soldiers to get wounded due to debris flying from where the mortar hit and also some vehicles were destroyed due to a well place mortar shot.

When the rebels attacked convoys they were meet with heavy resistance from the soldiers and from fire from the armored vehicles guarding the convoy. Yet, quite a few of the convoys’ vehicles were destroyed or damaged. As well, a good deal of the soldiers were either killed or wounded in the assault.
Blackhelm Confederacy
21-06-2006, 06:26
OOC: mostly just for fun

The rebels took a high casualty rate from convoys assaults. They decided to only attack lightly defended convoys, and planted more IED's all along the major roadways. In the city, suicide bombings were increasing in frequency. In some parts of town, 1/5 of all the parked cars were exploding.
The Scandinvans
21-06-2006, 06:35
OOC: I can concur to that as it is hard to find a rp that is just fun to be in.

IC: With the rebels now mostly targeting the lightly armed ones the Imperial generals decided to adapt their strategy to have to use lightly armed convoys in needed situations, but overall that only caused one or two less to be sent because the vast majority of the lightly armed convoys were gathered on quick notice. As well, the IDE’s forced the convoys to have to deploy sweepers first in order to help prevent them from exploding right near a convoy vehicle, but that caused the convoys to have to slow making them more of a target and as also their was still a high rate of the IDE’s blowing up near the convoys.

The regular soldiers were forced to adapt a policy destroying all running cars that refused to stop when they within twenty five feet of an Imperial soldiers.
